Skilled Combatant: Though lacking the force sensitivity of his cousin Lannis, Varrik is never the less a formidible warrior in his own right. Having undergone Purge Trooper training, Varrik is a master in the usage of both electrostaff and blaster, and is capable of going toe to toe with most force sensitives.
Master Tactician: Varrik has only been able to maintain control over his remnant of the Core Imperial Confederation through his tactical and strategic know-how. He clawed his way up to his present rank of Grand Moff after proving himself a superior strategist to the other Imperial warlords who'd sprouted up after the CIC's collapse, bringing those on Byss into the fold via force or diplomacy as required.
Partial Blindness: No matter his combat skill, Varrik will always be slightly hindered by his blinded left eye, caused by an injury he'd sustained during his career amongst the ranks of the Inquisitorius's Purge Trooper division. While he has trained himself for the most part to negate this hindrance, it will always prove to be a weakness in battle.
No Force Sensitivity: Despite coming from a family known for it's strong force sensitivity, Varrik appears to have drawn the short straw in that regard. He is but a regular man, and for all his training and tactical knowledge, he will never possess the power of the force.
APPEARANCE:
A human male in his early fourties, Varrik's chiseled features would be slightly marred by his blind left eye and the scar descending across it, caused by injuries suffered in the line of duty as a Purge Trooper of the Inquisitorius. Outside of battle, he'd commonly garb himself in his usual Imperial Officer uniform, with his rank badge affixed proudly to his chest. In combat itself, he'd garb himself in a full suit of Inquisitorius Purge Trooper armor.
BIOGRAPHY:
The cousin of the former Grand Inquisitor, Lannis Morcus, Varrik served amongst the ranks of the Imperial Military and Inquisitorius with distinction as one of their Purge Troopers, tasked with hunting Jedi or other force sensitives for the CIC. His distinguished service awarded him many honors, and he quickly found himself amongst the higher echelons of Imperial command. When the Core Imperial Confederation collapsed, and various Imperial admirals and generals carved out their own warlord fiefdoms in the aftermath, Varrik quickly gathered those loyal to him and warred with the other Imperial warlords on the planet Byss.
When the fighting had died down, Varrik had emerged the glorious victor. The remnants of those factions that had warred with him quickly came into the fold upon the deaths of their upstart leaders. Varrik was declared Grand Moff of the Imperial Remnant. Mustering his fleet, he and his forces have departed Byss and now seek a new world to establish Imperial dominion upon.
