PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Velda sees herself as a loyal servant of House Mecetti, someone who must mire themselves in the most distasteful part of socio-military action in order to keep the House safe and its citizens happy. She believes it is inevitable that someone must deal with the unsavory aspects of life, and sees her sacrifice to that inevitability as a noble duty. In private life, she tends to be somewhat insular. She is aware of an emptiness at the core of her life which she tries to fill with duty, but what she really needs is a deep personal connection to another human being.

HISTORY

The Praz family is a minor noble family in the Tapani Sector, within the authority of the Mecetti province. They have served House Mecetti throughout recorded history, often becoming military or Minitry of Inquiry officers. The House has never achieved great wealth, but they have accrued significant social prestige via loyal service.

Velda Praz was the youngest daughter of Piet and Gelya Praz, who both served in the Ministry. She had always been a socially awkward youth, and had trouble forming romantic connections or deep friendships. She ended up following in her parents' footsteps and devoting herself entirely to the Ministry. She filled her life with duty and took pleasure in exceeding expectations and becoming a capable field agent.

When Maldor Mecetti's defection to the Empire of the Lost was arranged by Casteban Mecetti, Velda was assigned as the senior field agent and Ministry liaison between Maldor's "exile" forces and the main Ministry assets. She was granted authority over 100 subordinate field agents, 100 researchers, and a single unit of the Mecrosa Order's Upsilon division as an emergency strike team. She was also granted permission to officially join the Empire's Security Bureau if necessary to secure her mission objective.

That objective? Secure the safety of Maldor Mecetti, obtain the intelligence required to accomplish his goals, and perform operations deemed necessary to preserve House Mecetti supremacy and success. Secret even from Maldor Mecetti- though surely suspected by him- is the directive to report all of his activities to Vianca Mecetti (the ex-head of the Ministry and current Lady in command of House Mecetti.)
