The Battlefleet Vandemar is the military naval arm of the Vandemarians, established by the High Imperator many centuries ago, it was designed to maintain the sovereignity of the Olympian System as well as providing training, experience and a possibility to participate in the wars of the Galaxy as well as protecting the small realm from them. Developed based on various experiences and influences, the Vandemarian navy is a well supplied and highly trained combat force.
The Velites-class escort frigate is one of the workhorses of the navy. Small and deadly it is a ship designed to work in squadrons to bring down smaller ships like other escorts or to unit and bringing down capital ships. They are deadly in their tactics and usually are commanded by very daring and dauntless captains, believing that fortune only favors the bold and that the battlefleets doctrine requires bravery and skill to bring the most successes.
The Velites-class sports a heavy offensive array to intercept single capital ships, lead raids or work along side a battle line as a picket ship. It is fast, well armed, well protected and not to be underestimated, especially when working together with the slightly smaller Ala-class.
