PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Vendra is tall and has a somewhat lanky but muscular build. Her eyes are a deep blue and her hair is black, though usually covered up by her headcloth, and she has telltale Mirialan tattoos gained through various rites and trials. When it comes to her attire, Vendra prefers a maroon robe adorned with her distinctive dark gray and black armor.

INVENTORY

An old, janky lightsaber and a modified MSM DD6 blaster pistol with an oversized power pack. A modified H-6, the Deep Ranger.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Vendra Vane can be summarized as bold, self-righteous, and very superstitious. Though she has a strong personality, she is not without her virtues. Vendra is also giving, passionate, and at times, even gentle. She finds it easy to place love and trust in those close to her and doesn’t often carry a grudge–though she can be prone to anger. Her outward intensity is betrayed by personal vulnerability and a soft heart in private spaces, where she is wont to confide in her friends and lovers.

Her core belief is in the power and sacredness of destiny, her own most of all, though she often finds herself drawn to another’s destiny, too. Vendra has even gone so far as to protect others' perceived destinies when they are interfered with. Other beliefs that Vendra has include a sense of justice, the strength of community, and the responsibility of the strong to provide for the weak.

STRENGTHS

My Body Is The Force:
Vendra was never one for reading ancient texts or meditation. No, she focused on enhancing her physical strength, enduring terrible blows, and surviving hostile conditions.

Born Fighter: As a child, Vendra lacked the same self-preservation instincts as her peers and survived her stupidity into adulthood, now unafraid to face her death. It isn’t so much bravery on her part as something just never clicked in the face of danger.

A Flame To Ignite Others: Perhaps it shares the same source as her headstrong, seemingly unconquerable approach to life, but Vendra is ready to seize any opportunity and inspire others along the way.

WEAKNESSES

Scorned By Destiny:
Vendra was marked with an omen that shrouded her destiny in darkness. She constantly seeks signs and sees her actions through a superstitious lens, even at the cost of more present goals.

The Dark Tyrant: Vendra’s dreams are plagued by a shadowy figure she calls The Dark Tyrant. Some say they are just that, dreams, while superstition might suggest it’s tied to her omen. Regardless of the reason, the Mirialan is often plagued by restless nights, and occasionally, her dreams manifest as erratic behavior or eccentric decision-making.

The Force Is My Body: Neglect in her spiritual training has left Vendra with dull and untrained force senses and, subsequently, no ability to shroud herself from other force sensitives.

HISTORY

Vendra Vane was born to an isolated Mirialan community on a planet in the Kathol Outback, where they practiced their faith, far removed from galactic conflicts. At 11, Vendra showed a strong connection to the force and was sent to train under her people’s Seer and one day succeed them. Vendra quickly proved more interested in the power of the Force than honoring its sanctity.

On a fateful day, she entered a cave and experienced a conduit to the Force, a deep cut in the universe where it seemed to pour like water. What she faced was a terrible vision of the galaxy at large and the thoughts of every lifeform in it. An unbearable reality not meant for a single mind to bear. She witnessed it all disappear, first the voices and then the stars, until only darkness remained.

In the aftermath, she wandered for days, haunted by anguish and a dark cloud inside her mind. The seer found Vendra at death’s door and took her away to heal. She read her destiny in the force, revealing naught but darkness. Whatever was meant for her, the Force refused to reveal and the Seer could give no answers. A dark omen indeed, for to become a Seer, one must have a clear sight of Destiny to ever guide others, let alone a whole village.

With her purpose gone, Vendra was exiled to the edge of a larger settlement with the Seers’ final words: “Do not return until the veil is lifted.” Over the next years, Vendra was discovered by and trained under an old and once fearsome dark Jedi warlord named Mahl Aldiri who saw her potential. Vendra quickly became his enforcer and soon exceeded his strength and force of personality. When Mahl finally died, his followers fell in line and were reinvigorated under Vendra’s eclectic approach to leadership, as if she could achieve anything.

With Mahl’s old lightsaber in hand and a mercenary force at her back, Vendra looked to the veil of destiny once more and meant to tear it down.

BACKWATER BLUES

ACT I

  • Expedition Rannon: Vendra and her mercs escort an excavation team at the site of Sith ruins. When workers go missing, the Dark Jedi enters alone to discover why. Inside, she meets a mysterious and capable Force user named Sable. The two are trapped and work together to overcome sinister trials, slaying a Terentatek and destroying the evil spirit of a long-dead Sith sorcerer. Deeming the place too dangerous, Vendra and Sable destroy the ruins and leave the ungrateful foreman for dead.

  • Lok and Loaded: Vendra and Sable land on Lok in search of more work after the Rannon job. However, the small shadowport is assaulted by a gang of rival mercenaries. The two work together, with the assistance of her mercs, to overcome and defeat the ambush. Vendra is wounded in the process, and one of her Mercs--a good friend named Mac--died trying to protect her. Sable and Ven comfort each other in a small moment before venturing off-world on a high-stakes job for a local fixer named Sal.

  • Our Definitions of Death: The Dark Jedi hunts her dead Master's former apprentice, a treacherous Anzat named Heavens Devoured on the Sith world of Terminus. There, she discovered mass paranoia and hallucination that all appeared to lead back to an alchemically enhanced Sith named Mercy. After an unsuccessful bargain, Vendra is forced to hunt Heavens Devoured alone and loses his trail in the bowels of the city.

  • Intersections of Faith: Vendra discovers the location of a force nexus on V'Shar, a remote world and home to a strongly religious species. There, she discovers the entrance to a Force cave and runs into an unlikely encounter: a pair of Mirialan Jedi also in search of the cave's secrets.

  • My Means for Your Methods: Vendra and crew begin their assault on a pirate station with the help of a rogue agent and spy called Pyro. However, things quickly get out of hand, and the crew is forced to improvise if they want to collect on the credits Sal promised them for a job well done.

  • The Hunt on Pamarthe: Vendra travels alone to the world of Pamarthe, where she tracks down a Quarren smuggler rumored to have secret routes and shipping schedules into and out of Sith space. There she runs into a small redheaded woman called Petra, who is hunting the same man for her own reasons.

  • Wanting Too Much: Alec "Pyro" Sienar and Vendra travel to Lamaredd to grab drinks and mooch off cantina talk in hopes of gathering some good leads.
