Description:
The Venom-Class Elite Starfighter is one of the more advanced and powerful Starfighters. Its good speed and maneuverability combined with its armament make it a formidable opponent in space missions. However the Starfighter only has standard shielding and rather light armor plating.

The Ships’ combination of Laser and Ion weaponry gives it a wide range of uses. It can be used for non-lethal engagements as well as lethal ones. In both cases it can be highly effective, though it has a pretty well working anti-Starfighter use. Thanks to its Ion Cannons it can neutralize the shields of enemy starcraft rather fast and then destroy them with its Laser Cannons or Proton Torpedo Launchers. The Venom’s fight-performance is comparable to that of the X-Wing, though the Venom is much bigger and has lighter shielding and armor plating.

The drawbacks are of course the aforementioned shielding and armor plating. This makes the Venom much more dependent on good dodging, outmaneuvering and use of possible cover; otherwise it can be taken down rather easily by enemy ships. The Venom is only made for the best pilots of the Confederacy and requires great skill and specialization to pilot, otherwise it will only be wasted in the hands of a pilot who doesn’t understand how to fly this particular Starfighter.

You know you could make this a regular fighter with only minor changes in the description and mass-produce it. Other than that, torpedoes naturally lock on, and you'll need to include the number you're carrying. Also, ammo isn't counted as cargo.

Okay! I'm still relatively new to making ships, so I might make a couple mistakes here and there! ^^
Changes Made:
Mention of the Lock-on removed
Mention of Ammo removed

Also, what kind of changes do you mean and would it be possible to buff it a bit to make it more of an elite fighter like I intended it to be?

Elite fighters are allowed 6 lasers and can carry 4 more warheads than a standard fighter, they're also usually carrying the cutting edge of what the faction can use, one of the reasons I asked you to include your warhead amount again. As for the changes to your description, that was if you wanted to change from elite to standard, some of the places you mention elite would have to be changed.

Okay, I decided to make it an Elite Fighter, just like I intended it to be.

Changes Made:
2 Laser Cannons --> 2 Heavy Laser Cannons
Added the warhead count to the Proton Torpedos
