OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To codify a splinter group of Wonosa that could serve as an ally or enemy in Outer Rim stories.
  • Image Credit: Symbol cobbled together by me.
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Order of Wonosa, The Aftermath
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Fleet Name: It's official designation was the Fleet of the Second Sword but currently it is known simply as the Vergence Fleet.
  • Classification: Raiding and Interception Fleet
  • Affiliation: Order of Wonosa, Sith Order
  • Fleet Symbol: Vergence Fleet Emblem.png The symbol of the fleet is a stylized version of the Sith symbol used by the Order of Wonosa as a whole, albeit with a "hilt" at the top of the main symbol to represent their position as a "sword" of the Sith. It is also white instead of the typical red or black used by the cult in order to pay homage to the Shikkars that were used by Sith Assassins and the vessels which comprise most of their fleet.
  • Description: The Vergence Fleet can best be described as a legion of daggers, made up entirely of smaller vessels that focus on speed and firepower above all else. They will rarely engage in full force, often leading both attackers and prey along already scouted routes and into ambushes where any advantage in numbers is made null and void by clever positioning. They are considered something akin to a pirate raider fleet in how they operate but their regimented crews and doctrine make them far deadlier opponents than any simple pirate. A legion of daggers indeed.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Formos System
  • Ports of Call: Kessel Sector, Outer Rim
  • Goals: Ostensibly they maintain their original mandate of disrupting the criminal elements of the Kessel Sector, often hunting smuggler and pirate ships as well as very openly engaging with slaver fleets. Despite this apparently noble goal, they have no qualms in regards to raiding against local authorities and civilians should they need supplies or simply find their work interrupted. By and large their more overarching goal is to ensure the pockets and enclaves of Wonosan forces in the Outer Rim can operate without fear of reprisal, often acting as the reinforcement fleet to their brothers and sisters in need.
  • Reputation: To the average denizen of the Outer Rim the Vergence Fleet is something of a recent urban legend, an enigmatic fleet of sleek and deadly ships unlike anything fielded by pirates or even crime syndicates that appear to wipe out criminal ships and stations before vanishing just as quickly. To the average scum and villainy of the Outer Rim they are akin to a boogey man, a fleet of unknown size and leadership that leaves nothing but scrap metal and floating bodies in their wake. The drifting hulls they leave behind are often adorned with the symbol of Wonosa, their grim calling card. To their brothers and sisters of the faith they are the backbone of their operations now that they are largely cut off from the wider Order, their benevolent protectors and siblings in arms.
COMPOSITION INFORMATION
MEMBERS
Trierarch Lord Vaizdas-
Admiral of the Vergence Fleet and a Lord of the Darkseekers, Darth Vaizdas can be counted among the most hardline of the believers of the Kotsûshatul Itsu preached by the Order of Wonosa in addition to being a fairly competent and dangerous Sith Lord in his own right. Being born in the Formos Dresuoti and raised into the ranks of the Wonosan Sith underneath Darth Strosius's leadership. He proved to be not only an effective killer but also skilled with the Force, eventually landing him in the ranks of the Darkseekers despite his personal preference for fighting alongside the common soldiers of the cult. This preference would be acquiesced to however when he was assigned as the main enforcer for the Fleet of the Second Sword that would be tasked with raiding along the Kessel Run to destroy the valuable spice trade in an effort to starve the criminal syndicates of the Outer Rim of their valuable drug trade. Over time he would informally rise through the ranks of the Second Sword while at the same time officially rising through the ranks of the Darkseekers until finally being declared a Sith Lord by Darth Strosius himself and given command of the Second Sword Fleet formally. After the death of their leader, Darth Vaizdas would be among those of Wonosa who rejected the order to return to Faldos and regroup as his own fanatical loyalty to the mission entrusted to him by the High Priest and to the man himself overrode any other orders in his mind.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Formed as the first official fleet formation produced and commanded entirely by the Order of Wonosa, the Fleet of the Second Sword would be named after the First and would be tasked with a relatively simple goal at first glance. To disrupt the spice trade. Being situated along the Kessel Run due to their home on Formos, the Second Sword would be the implement meant to sever criminal activity in the Kessel Sector in order to not only reduce the threat of pirates or slavers coming to Formos but also the first step in establishing Sith dominance of the sector. This task, as well as many other missions against specific targets in order to eliminate the slave trade in the sector, would be undertaken with gusto and fervor.

The Second Sword became the terror of the Run, infamous among smugglers and pirates for their ambush tactics which left few if any survivors to tell the tale of their unrelenting and merciless assault. Most notably they would even specifically target escape pods from their prey, leaving them barren of occupants and drifting through space with obvious signs of forced entry and violence within. The occupants of said escape pods would never be found by their criminal compatriots.

Even after the loss of Formos the Second Sword would continue its mission, this time its scope broadened to act as the vanguard for other Wonosan operations and bases within the Outer Rim as well. The death of Darth Strosius would prove a pivotal moment in the history of the fleet, a shockwave of despair and anger being felt in every crew member and officer. This agony was exemplified by their commander Darth Vaizdas, who would be the one to reject the order to retreat to Faldos in the aftermath of their founder's demise. It would be then that their fleet would be renamed the Vergence Fleet, in reference to Force Nexi, and their mandate of bringing the sinners of the Outer Rim redoubled in intensity.
