PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Vergessen is tall and skeletal. His skin is pale white with patches of tan, and he lacks a proper nose; two sharp nostrils on the flat of his upper lip being the only indication of a sense of smell. His hair is long, black and combed back, and his forearms from the elbow to the wrist also have hair on them (a trait of his race). He has an additional limb underneath his right arm, which is covered in spots of white sheeted keratin. As is natural of his race, Vergessen has these sheets of keratin carapace grow on his body in unique ways (which can be inherited). Three protruding spikes of carapace in the shape of a set of ribs grow across from the sides of his torso, and another plate had covered his eyes and forehead, until invasive modifications were made to restore a line of vision to Vergessen.

Now the plate that had once wrapped across his eyes had been punctured in two places, making the plate look like a large visor over Contii's face. The dark sclera of Vergessen's eyes and the hollowed out "eye mask" provide a shade across his pupils that incite feelings of unease.

His outfit is a black, winding robe that trails down to his ankles and finish with a pair of metallic platform boots. Splashes of royal purple color the corners of his dress, and the cuff of his V-necked garbs extend all the way down to his naval, revealing the sharp pointed spikes of carapace through his clothing. Besides the lack of a shirt, his bosom area is adorned with large silver chains that rope around his neck and hang low to his chest, striking brightly against his tan skin.

When inside of an oxygen-rich atmosphere, Vergessen wears a small glass air regulator over his mouth and nose, attached to a device hidden under his robe.

As Vergessen walks or moves his limbs, his coat tends to droop or sway in strange ways, making his movements look generally uncanny.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Vergessen's life was filled with entropy and fear. The persisting jaws of a hungry star clashed at the border of his planet, forcing his people to worm deep into the soil for safety. Vergessen was brighter than most of his people, and insatiably curious. Vergessen discovered the incredible struggles his planet's fauna faced long before his race were formed. Flat looking creatures, mammalian... A perfect reflection of his struggle. A creature he saw on a personal expedition had been ravaged by necessary evolution. The creature's limbs were distended and flexible, rotating in ways uncomfortable to a normal humanoid. Their bare skin was rubbery, yet the fur was sharp and needled. They also had long sharpened claws, which clubbed near the base of the palm to maximize digging surface area. This incredible piece of intelligent design inspired Vergessen's now multi-faceted ways of thinking, adapting to the strange cultures of his surroundings like that struggling creature did to his harsh planet... Until his power could extend far enough to change it all. Unlike the animal, he would use his adaptable intelligence to change the oppressive system and live for himself. After being extradited to an alien planet to serve as a slave, Vergessen absorbed all the knowledge around him like a sponge, soon learning the gentle intricacies of intergalactic socialization in order to avoid being outcasted immediately. His manners were eccentric, and paradoxically Vergessen avoided any sort of physical touch from living things, despite the fact that his race primarily communicates via touch.

While anti-social, Vergessen tends to humor conversation in the most irritating ways possible to those he undermines in order to draw out hostility. His wit stirs the pot of conflict, turning your little argument with him into a brawl - but the reality is that he had already poisoned your drink, he was just stressing you out enough to get the toxins pumping through your veins faster.

Vergessen is cruel and sadistic, calculating and cunning, yet eccentric and aloof. He keeps no one close and solely relies on his own determination to navigate life. His voice is raspy and cold. His laugh cackles into a disgusting heave. His intentions are well hidden, and his goals are seldom told.

STRENGTHS

  • Highly intelligent and cunning.
  • Tech savant.
  • Great at "improvisational combat".

WEAKNESSES

  • Vergessen has several medical problems born from his inherited carapace growths. The growths constrict his lungs, and his faceplate eliminates his peripheral vision. He perceives life through the small holes punctured through his "mask", making for a visually constricted existence.
  • Incredibly arrogant and self-absorbed. Incapable of making real relationships. His betrayal to loyalty ratio is 70/30.
  • A physical lightweight. While tall, his body is fragile (yet surprisingly agile)
  • Despite his sadistic arrogance, Contii isn't pure evil. Hints of compassion or sympathy will leak through the expression of his pale image, while he berates you for psychoanalyzing him so closely.

HISTORY

Vergessen Contii was born in a litter of 12 on his planet and was raised in darkness. Closely coddled by his family, they were buried deep in the earth, groping around in deep caves in search of light sources in the form of glowing plant matter, as well as food and water.

A constant bid for survival. A constant feeling of pressure, of touch. This violation of Vergessen's being shook him to his core. His parents died in a cave in, further impacting his view on interpersonal relationships. He had no idea his parents were killed, and he simply lived his life assuming they abandoned him in the depths of soil. Vergessen fed his curiosity more than his own stomach, observing the small, teeming life that hid deeper in the planet. This curiosity grew and grew, eventually leading to his subjugation when slave traders managed to pierce the fiery veil of his planet initially in search of rare minerals.
