SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Fire Dancer - The Verum Light Armor Mk. II achieves a strong resistance to heat and energy weapons via high-quality alloyed Plasteel and Integrum armor plating, Ostrine reinforcement, energy sinks, a composite armorweave bodyglove, and yet more defensive systems.
  • Acrobat - Designed to be ultralight in weight and extremely supple in character, the Verum Light Armor Mk. II allows the wearer to perform all manner of Force-assisted acrobatics and maneuvers with virtually no impediment.
  • Kinetic Warfare - Using an ultra-high grade of Plasteel, the Verum Light Armor Mk. II has excellent resistance against slugthrowers, vibroblades, and other kinetic threats. The armor also protects against raw kinetic force (or blunt impact) via an integrated inertial dampener.
  • Sonic Boom - Equipped with a sound dampening overlay and sonic nullifiers, the Verum Light Armor Mk. II provides the wearer with a good level of protection against sonic attacks, which while somewhat rare, are nonetheless lethal in the right circumstances.
  • Zero Profile - Although styled to maximize fear and terror, the Verum Light Armor Mk. II is ultimately designed to facilitate the wearer not being seen, perceived, or sensed whether via means of technology or the Force. This is achieved via two coatings that effectively nullify sensor presence, a full cloaking system, integrated taozin skin nodules, a thermoguard bodyglove, and yet more systems. In effect, these features render the wearer invisible to both common and exotic sensors, while also minimizing (or even outright nullifying) their profile even if these systems are inactive or run in passive mode.
WEAKNESSES
  • Mechanical Mutation - Like any piece of technology, the Verum Light Armor Mk. II will be susceptible to mechu-deru and other technology-twisting powers if left unprotected. A talented practitioner of such esoteric sorceries could induce an overload or some other failure that might compromise the armor entirely or demand precious time to fix, leaving the user vulnerable.
  • Weaponized Radiation - While the armor is capable of protecting its wearer from background radiation in the environment, it does a poor job in protecting its wearer from weaponized radiation, due to it being far more concentrated than radiation in an environment or a vacuum.
  • Acerbic Affliction - Unfortunately, acid weapons are very effective at eating through the armor’s protective materials to harm the wearer directly, potentially inflicting a host of dangerous effects.
  • Tensor - While the armor is optimized to mitigate damage from most forms of energy-based assaults, tensor weapons are a notable, dangerous exception to its protective qualities. In firing compressed tractor beam waves, they can bypass most of the armor’s defenses and affect the wearer’s body at a cellular level, with the potential to cause mortal injury.
DESCRIPTION
Designed and styled in such a way as to maximize the fear and terror inflicted on those unfortunate enough to behold the wearer (should they allow themselves to be seen), the Verum Light Armor Mk. II is designed for use by the stealth assassination/abduction squads created by Overseer Teckla Tane of the Quasesitorum. The second variant of the armor was designed by First United Astral Engineering, which took aesthetic cues from the original variant while also adding various technologies that the company has used and developed in past designs. These include a full suite of stealth systems, various utility functions, composite armor construction, and yet more features.
