HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Following the rebellions incited by the Tingel Arm Coalition on Dac and Lothal, former Moff and Crusader Grandmaster Teckla Tane decided that she wanted a group of boogiemen to instill fear into would-be betrayers. She worked with Akiya Orime Akiya Orime to use First United Astral Engineering’s Engineered Variance Cloning process to produce elite Force Sensitive clones that would be commanded by hand picked Obscurers. Starting with the Mon Cals who allowed TAC infiltrators into Dac’s defense network and the Quarren who failed to identify the threat, the first Verum squad quietly eliminated several enemies of the state and left a telling calling card that would leave little doubt who ordered the assassinations, but little clues as to who and how it was carried out.

Each squad consists of the chosen Obscurer leader (Knight-level or higher), with particular skills and lack of empathy, along with three genetically engineered sociopathic assassins. Through the special cloning process nearly all of these assassins are designed as unassuming, slim beings with Knight-level Force-sensitivity, stealth and a hunger to perform the dastardly deeds asked of them by their “creator”. Though created from the same genetic material each clone assassin would have some amount of uniqueness thus making it difficult to figure out who exactly the Verum are. If seen without their cloaks the assassins would appear as unassuming main line humans of average build and height, though that rarely ever happens for anyone other than their Obscurer leader.
