The pair merely ignored him as much as possible feeding him as infrequently as possible. When he was four he began to learn to read using the signs and notice board as he shivered next to his mother. He was joined by a sister when he was 18 having gone through school. His farther in a rare moment of consciousness threw him out.
Now homeless Vex fell in with a criminal group working from petty thief to the overseer of a “Pleasure house” chain. It was then as the leader of the crime syndicate began to ail , that the shadow wars began in the upper echelons Businesses would fail, henchmen would die. Throughout all Vex opted to stay neutral he made no attacks. As people collapsed Vex remained separate until on the night of the leader’s death when a select few stood able to replace him that Vex struck. No one feared the dwarf he was overlooked and then the families of the remaining four eligible heirs disappeared and they received offers they could not refuse. Vex took over the syndicate it was small but it was his.
