Vexander Graves Master Vote (Masters only)

I would like to nominate Knight Vexander Graves for Master vote. He has worked very hard on all areas ( including around the boards ) in training of himself and others. I believe he has done more then enough to warrant the nomination.

Before I answer any questions I would like to say that I am quite surprised and pleased to be nominated as a Master. Unexpected to be honest, nevertheless; I would like to ellaborate further below on the questions.

@[member="Arumi Zy"] @Marek S'hadar

IC: I might not be the wisest Jedi, and there are others who have more power and knowledge in the ways of the Force. In fact, the knowledge about my visions is still limited and it requires constant meditation; but since I joined the Order, I have been able to gain more control in my feelings towards them and their effect in my life.

Perhaps I am sometimes too devouted to the Order, the Republic and the lightside to the point where I head to battle more than a Jedi should, still, as a former military officer; I only proceed when the Jedi Council feels that intervention is needed and I heed their perception of the Will of the Force.

One of my strongests values is the patience gained during training and that I have been able to develop even further with my failures, loses and even dissapointments; but such patience has allowed me to become even better in what I do and in my training.

I hope that my humble reply fulfills your desire to know my thoughts on the matter.

OOC: Some might think that the title of Master is just character progression, but as someone who has been Master and member of the Council in another RP game (swcombine), I can say that such title comes with a responsability and dedication.

The training of new padawans, taking the lead and helping others is something that might be exhausting, but a Master needs to have in mind that as a senior member of the Order, such actions are a must and he/she needs to be always ready to perform them when needed.

Perhaps too cliche but it fits: with power comes responsability.

I am struggling to come to an answer. I want to say yes but i can't, I can't say no either.

I'm not sure @[member="Vexander Graves"], if you have already answered so forgive me for asking you again, but why do you think you don't deserve the rank of Master? What would hold you back or stop you from achieving this promotion??

Again I'm sorry, I'm struggling right now.

No need to apologize, I'll be delighted to answer in an OOC level and an IC level.

IC: Since I am more like a military officer, to be a Master means that I'll need to provide orders, but I am better at following them and getting contingency plans working.

Also, compared to others, I am not doing anything extraordinay other than follow the Council's wishes. Basically what many others are doing already.
---------------------
OOC: Perhaps the time I took off in my unexpected LOA might raise some questions and concerns.

That is my humble opinion on why maybe I do not deserve the honor.

Coolio! One more thing then before I cast my vote.

You said that Vexander has only followed orders by the Council. So with that said, do you think that as both yourself being vexander and the person writing for him, is he ready then for Master?

This isn't me saying no, I'm just curious as to what you think is best for Vex.

OOC: As both I feel ready. In fact, as I mentioned some time ago to some: I am a Master in other boards and with another but extremely similar Vexander Graves. I didn't decide to transfer since I thought tha RPing the character's development through ranks would be fun which I have been doing so far.

IC: What is best for me doesn't matter. Jedi are selfless and thinking what is best for each one of us individually is the opposite. What matters is the Will of the Force and to fight for what is right for the Order and the Republic. So if I am granted the title and the responsability that comes with it, I'll strive to place myself aside for the greater good.

Firstly I'd like to voice my dislike at a dark jedi voting in a blatantly Jedi affair. I think its a poor rule that any master can vote, regardless of being jedi or not, and I will petition for this to change for as long as I have to.

Secondly, and most inportantly, I vote yes. However not becaude vexander has shown dedication to the order. It's for his ability to follow the council (and thus honor it as per the jedi way), and for his ability to see things from a more military based viewpoint.

In honesty the only thing I'd have liked you to do prior to this nomination is train a Padawan to Knight, as I belive that's one of the largest indicators that someone is ready IC and OOC - however you have all the time to work on that for the time being.
