STRENGTHS
Jedi-Trained: As with other knighted Jedi, Veyland has the training and experience to wield the Force with incredible ability. He is also fiercely adept with a lightsaber, seeming to favor Djem So as his main form.
Dark-Hunter: Having taken on the mantle of a Jedi Shadow, Veyland is a Jedi who knows how to exterminate artifacts, creatures, and cultists who draw on the Dark Side. He hunts Sith like a Mandalorian hunts bounties.
WEAKNESSES
Militant: Since joining with the Lightsworn, his beliefs have become far more militant. He is open to a full-on attack and decimation of all things relating to the Dark Side. Sith, Witches, Dark Jedi. Yet, this highly opinionated stance definitely puts him at odds with the mainstream Jedi Order.
Temptation: Due to his constant exposure to the Dark Side as a Jedi Shadow, there is a concern that it might one day draw him to its side. He constantly has to meditate on the light to keep himself from being drawn to the very darkness he opposes.
HISTORY
Born on Lothal to a family of Arkanian Offshoots seeking a peaceful life away from their typical environments, Veyland was different from the start. His heritage made him stand out among the humans on Lothal, yet his family hoped for a quiet existence on this Outer Rim planet, far from the complexities of Arkanian society.
Veyland's force sensitivity was discovered in an almost whimsical encounter. While playing outside, he was seen interacting with a white loth-cat, a native creature of Lothal, using the Force to levitate stones around him. This display of innate power caught the attention of his uncle, who recognized the significance of his abilities. Understanding the potential risks and benefits of his powers, his family agreed to give him up to the Jedi Order for training, hoping he would find his path and embrace his gifts for a greater cause.
Trained in the ways of the Jedi, Veyland excelled, particularly in blending the physical and mystical aspects of the Force. His prowess and dedication led him to the path of the Jedi Shadows, an elite group known for their stealth and focus on combating the dark side in secrecy. This role fit him well, as it required a deep understanding of both the light and dark sides of the Force, along with a strong moral compass to navigate the challenges posed by such missions.
The invasion of Tython, a pivotal moment for many Jedi, was a turning point for Veyland. The destruction and chaos it wrought led him to question the methods and doctrines of the traditional Jedi Order. Feeling a need for a more proactive stance against the threats facing the galaxy, Veyland found resonance with the ideals of the Lightsworn. This splinter group of Jedi advocated for a more aggressive approach to dealing with the dark side, aligning with Veyland's experiences and lessons as a Jedi Shadow.
