- Multipurpose: Built to serve a multitude of roles on the battlefield, or its outskirts; the Kodiak can efficiently serve as an armored troop transport, a reconnaissance vehicle, an infantry support vehicle and even a potential tank-killer if absolutely necessary, due to its concussion missile launcher. Well-armed and protected, it can both dish out large amounts of firepower, while also capable of receiving it, while its repulsor capabilities enable it to traverse any form of terrain with ease.
- Weight: Heavier than one might expect given its smaller size, and higher maximum speed, the weight of the Kodiak does impact its overall manoeuvrability, as well as the logistical issues of transporting large quantities of them to a combat zone. In the event of a malfunction or crippling attack on its repulsor modules, it may be wiser to simply abandon the vehicle, than attempt to retrieve it, if in the middle of an active engagement with the enemy.
The VH-280 Kodiak Infantry Support Vehicle is an armored troop carrier, infantry fighting and reconnaissance vehicle developed by Nakaioma Land Systems; a subdivision of Nakaioma Defense Dynamics dealing with military-grade vehicles, and manufactured by Nakaioma Weapons Manufacturing. Introduced to the market in the early 860s, the Kodiak was initially intended to be an armored personnel carrier, but was later--at the behest of upper corporate management-- given substantially more armor, shielding and armaments, effectively transforming it into the infantry fighting vehicle it is today. The VH-280 can hold three crew, including a driver, gunner and commander, though can also be fitted with a droid brain capable of operating the entire vehicle automatically, in addition to this it can carry between six to eight fully-equipped troops, depending on whether or not there is an organic crew or droid brain operating the IFV. Flexing a high rate of acceleration and an impressive top speed, the power of the Kodiak's bioconversion engine quickly led to it adopting a third role, that of reconnaissance and in many cases regular patrol duties, its repulsorlift capabilities when used in tandem with its speed allowing it to traverse any form of terrain with pace and ease.
Equipped with a 40mm 2e/W Medium Blaster Cannon located on the front of its turret, as well as a single automated anti-personnel blaster turret, and a single concussion missile launcher which boasts two launch tubes; the Kodiak was not designed to be an especially effective combat vehicle on its own, but rather to compliment larger, more specialized vehicles on the battlefield, and to ensure a high degree of protection for the infantry that it was supporting and in many instances; delivering to the combat zone. Like many other Nakaioma-brand vehicles and aircraft, the Kodiak maintains no substantial physical view ports to the outside, instead relying on a combination of the vehicle's sensors, scanners and miniaturized cameras located on the outside of the Kodiak, all of which work together to provide an in-depth and detailed picture of the vehicle's surroundings and of the wider battlefield via the internal view screen which both the driver and commander can operate. Currently in service with Nakaioma Security Services; the vehicle has also seen exports to corporate, and planetary government entities throughout the galaxy, and is often advertised alongside the VH-140 Goliath Repulsortank, and VH-550 Bulwark Mobile Launch Vehicle.
