SPECIAL FEATURES
Power Control Switch: This lasso’s handle is affixed with a power control switch that regulates the vibration generator that is embedded in the lasso. At the lowest setting the lasso gives off a small electric shock that can disorient the recipient. When set to the middle setting the lasso will deliver a nasty shock that can incapacitate the target, especially if sustained contact is maintained. At the most powerful setting the vibro generator and electronic nodes can give the lasso the ability to cut through some materials. Wood, unreinforced or defended metals, and flesh can be cleaved in two by this lasso.
EMP pulse: While set at the medium setting, the electronic nodes in this lasso can give off a small electromagnetic pulse. This pulse is not strong enough to directly deactivate any manner of technology, however with sustained contact it can wreak havoc to electronic systems and devices.
Toe to toe: With the Phrik lining and Vibrocells in this lasso it is able to stand up to a lightsaber blade. Even when deactivated, the lasso is not likely to be severed by a standard lightsaber or vibrosword.
EMP: This lasso gives off a miniature Electromagnetic pulse. This pulse is capable of disorienting electronic systems after sustained contact. If the lasso was to wrap around a suit of armor for a few seconds then the suit’s systems can come under assault from the EMP. The result varies depending on that systems protection from EMP technology, however the most successful outcome would be that the armor’s systems would become non-responsive for a few minutes.
Range: This lasso is a full length of rope and can reach up to 35 feet in length. However, the usable length of rope that contains vibration cells and electronic nodes is 30 feet of that total length.
Weaknesses:
Difficult to handle: This weapon is not made for the untrained warrior. For the lasso to be fully utilized as a practical combat weapon the warrior has to have experience with a lasso and understand how it works.
Dangerous: The lasso is not a weapon that is totally in the control of the user. Because of that it can be redirected or potentially lash back at them. As the weapon is it cannot discern friend from foe and the vibration can just as easily cut through the user as the enemy.
Proper hardware: For this lasso to be utilized correctly, the wearer must be wearing a special set of crushgaunts, gloves, or coverings to protect their hand from the dangers of the rope while they are handling it.
Dynetech had set their sights towards a new series of Vibro-weapons and the result staggered a good deal of the scientific community. It was not unheard of in the past to see various Vibrowhips or cords to be utilized in the field of combat, however no one was expecting a lasso. A common farm-hand tool turned dangerous weapon, the Vibrolasso was a rather quirky version of the vibrowhip. The lasso itself is made with a well woven leather, within that rope is a phrik weave with miniature vibration cells and electronic nodes to give the lasso it's deadly function.
When utilized correctly the lasso works well to disorient and even destroy enemies. If the lasso is wrapped around a person it can completely sever them in half if they are unprotected. The first of its kind, the lasso is an extremely difficult weapon to handle. It was meant for soldiers who have the time to go through complicated courses and training to make them proficient. While the weapon is not overly powerful, it maintains an extremely useful ability to deliver several small Electromagnetic pulses through it's length.
