DESCRIPTION
The Twelve Star Destroyers of the Mecetti House Guard Navy have been in House Service since the Clone Wars, when they were built by special license of the Kuat Drive Yards. They have been meticulously refurbished and maintained since then, with engine efficiency upgraded whenever possible without requiring replacement. This majestic fleet of antique destroyers are as formidable now as they were at the time of their construction, if not moreso.
How formidable the Victory Class may be was a matter of debate even at the time of their initial construction. Despite some successful engagements early in the series' career, the Victory line of star destroyers was unpopular even when they were new. Still, it is among the smallest star destroyers one can purchase and still claim to own a star destroyer, and they punch well above their size with the spectacular broadsides of the assault concussion launchers.
While House Mecetti holds these destroyers as a symbol of prestige, and they are, the destroyers also demonstrate the limits to House Mecetti's wealth and power. The House star destroyers have not been significantly updated in the many years since they were first constructed, with all upgrades being small and incremental. They represent an attempt by a powerful House of the Tapani sector to look more formidable than they actually are. While any Star Destroyer is a powerful weapon of war, it remains to be seen whether these aged destroyers can still win their namesake victories in the modern age.
Mecetti has thus far gone to great lengths to hold the power of these destroyers over the heads of rival Houses without actually deploying them in the field of battle. They mostly patrol Province territory and make appearances at official celebratory functions to impress the citizenry and other attendees.
House Mecetti reserves sale of these ships to House allies.
