- Troop Transport: The Vindican can ferry up to a platoon of Imperial Legionnaires, ranging from 20-40 soldiers, comfortably inside the troop compartment located behind the forward disembarkation ramp. It could also carry two speeder bikes alongside soldiers in lieu of the full troop complement.
- Very Low Armament: Only two medium laser cannons, mounted on either side of the transport's disembarkation ramp, serve as the vehicle's offensive weaponry. The Vindican was only ever conceptualized to use these weapons to clear enemy troops away from the ramp before unloading the troop complement inside.
Developed from both the Sith-Imperial Atmospheric Infantry Transport and the Sith-Imperial Multiple-Altitude Assault Gunship, the Vindican-class Troop Transport was an evolution of the rapid deployment tactics used by the Sith Empire to quickly thrust its soldiers into battle during ground campaigns. Outfitted with a forward disembarkation ramp, a wide troop compartment, and a hybridization of sleek hull design and the trio of angular wings of conventional Imperial shuttles, the Vindican was conceptualized to become the newest and most widespread method the Empire would use to move troops around battlefields.
The only weapon systems afforded to the Vindican were a pair of medium laser cannons mounted on either side of the disembarkation ramp, to be utilized in the clearing of enemy soldiers from in front of the transport to minimize the risk posed to the troops preparing to disembark. A spacious interior troop compartment allowed for an entire Legion platoon (twenty to forty Legionnaires) to be carried inside the Vindican, although a portion of the troops could be swapped out for other equipment like speeder bikes.
A single pilot controlled the Vindican from an elevated cockpit located directly above the troop compartment, with narrow viewpoint slits acting as their method of visually seeing where they were going and taking note of their surroundings. A series of robust sensory systems allowed for the pilot to visualize their entire surroundings through a holographic display, allowing them to operate in hazardous or no light conditions without relying solely on their visual scanning.
The transport possessed no hyperdrive and had to be carried on Imperial battleships from system to system.
