DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES

The Immobilizer variant of the Vindicator II-class Heavy Cruiser is designed to fill the very specialized battlefield role of an interdictor. To facilitate this, the ship is equipped with four massive projectors that artificially create fields of gravity waves. Each able to operate independently of one another, or in tandem, the four projectors are capable of operating on a number of settings, though only two settings are typically used.

The first and most conventional setting involves the Immobilizer operating at full power, with all projectors active. While this is occurring, the Immobilizer is capable of projecting an Interdiction field 3 million km in diameter. Although the strength of this field can be extremely detrimental to the crew of the ship as debris and small astroids within this area will be pulled towards the Heavy Cruiser by the gravity it is projecting.

The other setting most often employed by Immobilizer commanders is designed specifically to jam Yammosk communications by having each projector 'pulse' in turn, creating constant waves of fluctuating gravity waves. When used in this manner, the ship produced a much weaker gravitational field that only covers an area of space roughly a fourth the size as the alternative mode, but comes with the unexpected benefit of overloading HIMS equipped ships due to the constant fluctuating gravity fields the Immobilizer produces.

Since it's development, the Immobilizer has become a popular addition to many Armada due to a surprise effect caused by the ship's secondary Interdiction setting. As it turns out, stealth ships employing Gravitic Modulators within the area of effect of an Immobilizer utilizing it's secondary projector setting find themselves highly visible on Gravitic sensors due to the erratic fluctuations the Immobilizer causes in local space with rapidly fluctuating gravity waves. These rapid fluctuations cause Gravitic Modulators to overload as they struggle to match the gravity field of the host ship with the constantly changing fields that surround the stealth ship.
