STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
(Racial - As an Umbaran, Vinnon needs very little light to get by, and can see in practically total darkness. Umbarans are also unusually agile, and Vinnon shares this trait. On the other hand, like many of her Kin, she is physically lacking. While still average by human terms, and above average by Umbaran terms, Vinnon lacks physical strength, and can't take much of a hit, though she has pretty good endurance. Part of this endurance comes from her prosthetic legs, which do not tire.)
+++ - The Force - Vinnon has focused most of her time and energy in training on delving into the enigma that is the Force, and learning it in as many forms as she can in her time, without falling to the darkside. Strong in the force, and clever, she has a wide variety of Force Skills as well as stronger than average force potential for a Padawan. She directly specializes in healing, force barriers, and telepathy.
++ - Quick Learner - Vinnon has a sharp mind and a quick wit, partially due to her bed-bound childhood. She has a voracious appetite for knowledge, and a desire to learn that could easily get her into trouble. Thankfully, this also means she is quick to pick up new skills, provided she has a proper teacher to teach her.
++ - Mechanic - Vinnon dislikes relying on others for anything, given a childhood where she had to be doted on night and day. To this end, she learned how to maintain her prosthetic legs on her own, and through them, many mechanical objects in general. That said, she has limited experience working on starships/fighters, and does not know where everything is in this cases.
+ - Stealthy - Like many Umbarans, Vinnon is at home in the darkness. While she has never spent any serious amount of time training to use this natural skill, she is still a able sneak, and knows how to use the darkness to her advantage. She has never had to deal with hiding from other force users though, and does not yet know how to shroud her force signature to any degree.
+ - Medic - While she relies on her force powers to typically treat injuries, she has also learned at least the basics of first aid, and field treatment of wounds. This includes treating burns, suturing, setting bones, and dealing with dislocated limbs. While she has these skills, she has only ever used them in training, and has never had to deal with the blood, screaming, and fear that perpetuates a battle, or wounded individuals.
+ - Pilot - While still a novice, Vinnon has training as a pilot, and with the help of her force training, could dogfight with a reasonable degree of skill. Despite this, she has been sheltered so far, more by choice than anything else, and has never been in a true fight, only training, and has never had to deal with in-combat repairs or malfunctions, though she has the technical knowledge needed to address them.
+/- - Prosthetic Legs - Vinnon was born with disfigured, incomplete legs, and a slew of health problems followed her through her childhood. Before she started her training, she received prosthetic legs. From the thigh down, her legs are cybernetic and metal. Aside from having weakened her connection to the force, they provide some advantages and disadvantages. While her legs need maintenance, they are strong, and tough, being made of metal, and can continue to function through damage that would cripple normal legs. That said, she is practically immobile without them, and they haven't been properly insulated against electrical shocks. A large enough electrical charge will stun, or shut off her legs entirely, leaving her immobile and vulnerable. Still, her legs do not tire, and have surprising strength when she has to use them to fight.
+/- - Emotional - Vinnon ha little control over her own emotions, and is quick to anger, to make excited, and just as quick to fall into despair and give into fear. This is part of why she has been kept away from any actual combat. Those above her fear that if put into such a situation, the thrall of the dark side would be to tempting, or she would use it in a bout of panic, and be lost to them forever. She is kept away from fighting, and serves as a healer, and caretaker. She has started to resent this, as how is she to improve her ability to control her emotions if she is never allowed to test her own limits.
--- - Combat Training - Vinnon lacks almost any combat training, with only the very basics of lightsaber combat having been taught to her. She knows nothing of how to wield any other weapon, besides some basics with a hold-out blaster pistol that she snuck in early in her training. If forced to fight even a Padwan, Acolyte, or similarly skilled individual, VInnon would be at a severe disadvantage and would have to rely on her skill with the Force to even have a hope of surviving.
-- - Sickly - While she has grown stronger, Vinnon is still prone to Sickness, and her wounds are easily infected. While she now has the ability to treat herself so long as the sickness hasn't affected her mind, she is still a far cry from where most people should be by the time they reach her age. That said, she isn't afraid of getting sick anymore, and still dedicates her time to treating those that cannot treat themselves the way she can.
-- - Temptation - Vinnon has buried them deep, but she is still full of anger, fear, and hatred. Namely to the woman she believes took her beloved brother, the one person she would ever let care for her even when she was a child, away from her. While the woman is long dead, killed by Dok before he disappeared into the woods, where Vinnon believes he died, her disgust towards the woman continues to fester inside of her. While she believes she has kept this hidden, those above her, or at least some of them, have noted these emotions, and this is another reason they hold her back, and are trying to teach her control. There is a very real temptation within her to fall to the dark side, and given into these feelings and lash out with them, as the source of them is long gone.
APPEARANCE:
Vinnon has a large blaster scar on her abdomen where she was shot as a child. Additionally, she always wears a silver and gold bracelet with a symbol carved into it. A bubble surrounding a sickly but growing tree reminiscent of the trees on Umbara. The bracelet was given to Vinnon by Dok before his disappearance and suspected death in the jungle, and is all she has left of him.
BIOGRAPHY:
Vinnon Varuut was born on Umbara to a doctor and a retired old soldier. Both had vastly different views on the Galaxy at large, and the factions competing within it, and Vinnon was often torn between both points of view through their stories, and teaching as she aged. While Vinnon had many siblings (Seven in total) the only one she was ever truly close to was Dok, her own twin brother. While her brother had been born healthy, Vinnon was born with twisted, disfigured legs that would never support her. Further, she was prone to sickness, and spent most of her childhood bed bound, and when she wasn't bound to the bed, she was stuck in a wheelchair, or later, a hover chair. During this period of her childhood, the only person she let take care of her without fighting them, or being grumpy about it, was her brother, Dok. Dok doted on her, doing everything he could for her, including helping her with her homework, and playing with her when none of her friends would. This lasted up until she was seven, the happiest time of her life. Still innocent, and blissfully unaware of the horrors of the galaxy, and reality at large, Vinnon would find her innocence shattered in mere moments.
A local woman went mad, no one was really sure why but many blamed it on some kind of infection, and with a rifle in hand, attacked any she could get her hands on. Unfortunately for Vinnon, the Varuut family home was the third home she encountered. As she stormed through the house shooting, she killed three of Vinnon's sisters, and one of her brothers before she found where Dok was hiding with Vinnon. Dragging the young girl from Dok's arms, she threw her to the side and shot her. The pain was blinding, and in her panic and pain, Vinnon couldn't even scream. She went slack, and passed out from the shock, but due to luck, or perhaps an instinctual use of the force, she survived. Dok, already scared witless, and terrified of the woman that took his dear sister away, overflowed with rage. The one thing Dok had ever really cared for had just been snatched from him, and killed (or so he believed). Dok lashed out in the force, and slammed the woman into the roof of his family home. After some time her body gave way and he killed her, sending her flying through the roof and into the distance. Horrified, confused, and not knowing what to do, Dok ran.
Vinnon never found out what happened to Dok, she was in the hospital for three months, slipping in and out of a coma, and by the time she fully awakened, the family had long thought Dok dead, consumed by the dangerous jungle that surrounded the Umbaran city. At first Vinnon was overcome with grief, and in the emotional outburst, she let out a wave of force power that wrecked the room, and confirmed the suspicions of a Jedi watching the hospital and Vinnon. While the Jedi had correctly identified Vinnon as force sensitive, they incorrectly identified her as the one to stop the mad woman. So, while Dok was taken in by the Sith and trained in the ways of the Dark Side, Vinnon was taken in by the Jedi, and began her training. Neither sibling know the other has survived, and their connection through the force is blocked by both of them, believing the other dead and blaming themselves for it. Vinnon vowed to never need another caretaker like Dok, or to become attached to anyone the way she had him. So, with a final goodbye, she left her family on Umbara, and began her training, starting with physical therapy to adjust to her new legs, and to recover from her months in the hospital.
Where will fate take her? Not evens she can guess as she gazes up into the stars, wondering what time will bring in this galaxy of Chaos.
