- Waterproof and resistant to extreme elements
- Can accept a wide variety of ammunition in addition to its default loadout, provided they're 10 mm or can fit in sabots.
- The relatively simply mechanics of the pistol make it naturally resistant to EMPs and ion attacks.
- Integral flash suppressor.
- High stopping power and good range for a sidearm.
- Highly resistant to Ion attacks and EMP.
- It's still a pistol at the end of the day, effective ranges and damage outclassed by primary weapons.
Another personal creation of the Belarac Lord Commander, Cyprian desired a simple but reliable sidearm to compliment the more exotic Thresher. Inspired by ancient Mandalorian Energy Rippers, he crafted a similar sidearm, but one that based off the mechanics of Electrothermal-chemical technologies. Electric triggers transform tibanna gas into plasma streams that are vented out of a hardened rifled barrel, launching the projectile in the process. The Viper has destructive output to an equivalent mass driver weapon like a rail or coil gun, but is much less temperamental to the effects of ion or EMPs as it sports practically no electronic parts, save the power cell for the electric igniter. The advantages of rifling make the projectile more stable in atmospheric conditions, helping to increase accuracy and effective range.
While the weapon itself was no frills, it does sport an interesting composition for its default loadout. Meant to be fired as a burst weapon, the Viper is loaded with alternating cartridges of armor/shield piercing ionite tipped depleted baradium fléchettes, and then lead hollow points infused with cytotoxins. The initial piercing fléchette softens up the target for the succeeding poison hallow point to maximize damage.
Of course, users can swap ammunition according to their personal preference, and the weapon can be toggled to semi-automatic mode for more precise aiming.
