With the Galaxy in turmoil and the Outer Rim, especially, in chaos, Hester Shedo approached Anja Doreva of Doreva Industries based on Rothana, to request the manufacturing of a defensive fleet for Scarif, the planet she was governing. With a large order for ships such as this, Doreva Industries got to work on designs and sourcing some materials for military-grade ships. The Viper Starfighter was the first creation to emerge from Doreva and the Rothana Shipyards.

It boasts substantial firepower and decent defences coupled with fast speed and maneuverability. With properly trained pilots, there would be little that could stand in the way of this striking beast of a ship. It's not meant to overwhelm, but to do the necessary damage.
