Biography:
Viran's story is very simple. His great-great grandfather was in the Republic army, and that list just went on down the line to him. His mother's side of the family were either field medics or volunteers of the Alliance and Republic respectfully, making his parents ideal partners. When Viran was growing up, the patriotism of the Alliance was drilled into his brain. With decent grades graduating, Viran immediately left for the Alliance military when he hit the appropriate age. During one of his physicals, Viran was shown to have mediclorians in his blood stream, enough to command the Force. While Viran had done some reading on the Jedi, when they approached him to join their order, he refused, bluntly. His loyalties lied with the Alliance, and history had shown the Jedi Order to turn their backs on the both irritations of the Republic and Alliance alike. He would continue to serve the Alliance and it's military until he either was unfit for duty, or died.
