APPEARANCE:
Visper Jast is a lithe figured individual, pale of skin and eye color, her white hair is often pulled back into a ponytail, falling a bit below her shoulders when not. Rogue strands often frame her angled, well-featured face -- marred only by a slashing scar starting at her left eye, and slight freckling. Her natural expression is cold and non-emotive.

Her clothing is simple and unprotective, and appears to reflect it's owner, though arguably has more flair than her reserved personality. A dark red line weaves downward along the outer leg of her black pants, tucked neatly into black leather boots. Her top bears an open leather jacket, also black with the same dark red trim. The jacket is cropped at the midriff, with a simple black tank underneath. All her items are scuffed and dirty from repairs, travels, and general use.

||Strengths and Weaknesses||

( + ) Mechanical Savant: Avoiding the only other organic aboard the ship meant plenty of time spent amongst astromech and protocol droids, and general tinkering with them and other mechanical systems. She's a natural when it comes to ship, droid, and other mechanical systems -- piloting included.

( + ) Agile: Small, slender, and unassuming, Visper is swift, spry, quiet, and sure of foot.

( + ) Thick Skinned: Learned to take a punch and give a punch early on. She's developed a higher tolerance threshold for minor pain.

( ~ ) Ghost In the System: Being born aboard a starship in space and the subsequent failure to report her birth to a system or government, Visper is effectively non-existent to any database records (as of yet).

( ~ ) Uninfluenced: Having had no figures to look up to in her lifetime, she lacks the taint or guiding hand of outside forces.

( ~ ) Young and Unrestrained: Her newly found independence is overwhelming, and her youth and inexperience leave her misguided and directionless, but ambitious and determined.

( - ) Loner: Visper is naturally distrustful and quiet.

( - ) Culturally Oblivious: Life aboard a smuggling starship doesn't afford a very civilized lifestyle.

( - ) Thin Frame: Though agile, her diminutive form lends little to the department of strength, a stronger individual could snap her in two.

( - ) Paranoid: Abused and mistreated throughout her upbringing has resulted in a paranoid, troubled youth.

( - ) An Eye for an Eye: Vengeful and bitter, one can count on slights being repaid -- assuming they dig under her skin.

||History & the Now||

Born on a ship, her mother (a slave) died in childbirth, and her renegade Echani father, a wise-talking smuggler, pirate, slave-owner and all-around handsome scumbag did very little in the way of fathering his slave-born child. Between the demands of the crime lord her father worked for, and the demands of his Class VI Bulk Freighter (the only "woman" he was said to have truly loved), the increasing pressures of his work he had little time and little care for anything but credits and the next job. She grew up, abused by her father, whose temperament was mercurical and only grew worse with his increasing age and misfortune. Times were tough for the old-time smuggler, a frustration he often took out on the droids and his daughter -- before locking her, a hydrospanner, and a few manuals in a room to repair the damage he'd caused.

She spent increasing amounts of time with the droids on the ship (several astromech droids and a protocol droid) at first in grudging responsibility to her forced repair duties, and then later in meditative solace and escape from the only other living figure in her life. A slave to her own criminal father, her time was spent locked away in her quarters, piloting, navigating, repairing the droids or the ship, tinkering with mechanical items, and fetching specific cargo on a forced time limit (which was sometimes a trial considering how disorganized and full the holds would sometimes be, the acrobatics and agility required was a source of exhiliration and freedom for her, a jungle gym of sorts) lest she face punishment -- which she often did anyway.

Her resentment for her father grew over the years, though her retribution would not come -- could not come. Her attempts were met back tenfold, and the bruises and scars inflicted weighed on her, forcing her character into its current quiet, brooding nature. Her last attempt left her a deep reminder across her cheekbone, and a savage beating. As she recovered, her plan came to her in dreams -- she saw the arrival of a Rodian and his crew, and a window of opportunity she knew she must seize.

Her dreams came to fruition and reality a week later. As she was rigging one of her father's droids to remotely malfunction as a last minute thought of her hopefully imminent farewell, she received call to come to the cockpit. There, she saw the Rodian over the holocom as her father gave her instruction to retrieve some cargo. She was hardly listening -- though after 18 years she had such instructions so engrained she no longer needed to. Arrakis proved to be her salvation. While her father was preoccupied with the business transactions on the surface of the planet, Visper snuck onto the ship of the other party involved, stowing away in a cargo container. Once she felt the ship lift off the ground, she detonated the droid; the subsequent screams of rage as his newly traded cargo was destroyed, and cursings of her name brought a faint smile to her lips, the first in years. The fear faded from her system as her father's voice crept away, the ship speeding off out of the atmosphere.

Yet another fear crept in -- where would she go? She had trusted her intuition in this, let it guide her, but somehow felt the certainty of that choice now leave. She did not know the situation she had put herself in; the certainty of her freedom and her future was tenuous.

Unbeknownst to her, this inuition was the Force, which would guide her yet.
