Approved Tech 'Vita' & 'Lux' - Jack Sandrow's Lightsaber Crystals

SPECIAL FEATURES

• The crux of the Leaves, Jack's previous iteration of his lightsabers.
• Grown from a shard of Zonama Sekot's 'soul', these crystals partially resemble Kunda stones in form and function, in that they create a broader blade when ignited.
  • While Kunda stones can be used as a focusing lens for the same effect, these crystals provide a similar level of focusing without requiring a special lens.
• The crystals themselves are a mixture of solid and translucent green, not unlike malachite. Smooth faces are also green, but reflect a slightly white-purplish tint when caught in the light.
• While not technically organic, they were grown from a source of major Force sensitivity, in direct correlation to nature and life. Just as with Jack himself, they require connection to the Force to operate properly.
• Grown alongside nature, they reflect both nature's resistance to drastic change, and nature's power as a force of change. These properties are strongly reflected in the blades they produce.

STRENGTHS

• Broad Beam
  
  • Based on a similar crystalline structure as Kunda stones, Vita & Lux produce a broad beam even individually, allowing for easier deflection of blaster bolts and blocking of opposing saber blades.
• Force-Imbued
  
  • As steeped in the Force as they are, the crystals both mesh extremely well with Jack's naturally heightened Force connectivity. Jack is aware of their precise location at all times, when they're within roughly a mile of him (and with nothing blocking the connection).
• Inertia Powerhouses
  
  • Just as a tree bears the brunt of a storm, and just as a seed flies in the wind, these crystals are made to have potent inertial force. They do not produce a blade with mass or weight, but they produce a blade that doesn't want to move when it's still, and doesn't want to stop when it moves.
• Synchronicity
  
  • These crystals are indelibly linked, and in a pair of tandem lightsabers the blade produced by the crystals can smoothly interact for a light and delicate touch, can potentially be paired together in a single saber handle, or can even phase through each other without interacting.

WEAKNESSES

• Force Sensitivity
  
  • Like all lightsaber crystals, Vita and Lux are highly sensitive to the flow of the Force, but Vita and Lux are far more sensitive than the average crystal. Within a Force nullification field, these crystals lose a lot of their power and potential, including even potentially shorting out the lightsaber it's installed within.
• Crystal Bleeding
  
  • As with most lightsaber crystals, in the wrong hands these crystals are able to be bled. If this happens, they will lose all their special properties.
• Inertia Dampened
  
  • To an unskilled or unfamiliar user, the blades produced by these crystals are sluggish and resist every movement. They may be weightless, but they feel heavy in movement, and this takes time to adjust to.

DESCRIPTION
While Jack spent a few years (or more) on Zonama Sekot, the connection he obtained with nature brought him to the attention of the planet themselves. With training, care, and a lot of hard work, the planet provided him with two twinned crystals. In the months and years since he first obtained the crystals, his first blades using the ancient Forcesaber design were put through their paces, but he knew that the crystals had more potential.

Taking the time with Valery Noble to train and learn how to use a blade, and long meditations to focus and communicate with his crystals. And he realized that his crystals have their own unique property: 'massless' inertia. Much like how nature is indelible to rapid fluctuations in change, but also just as powerful when imposing change, so too these crystals can produce blades that resist incoming blows without much movement and are hard to stop when moving.

In Jack's new sabers, the crystals are properly exposed and connected to a contemporary (yet still organic) lightsaber design, but when stored away are able to be contained in small walnut-like shells for preservation and safety. Jack can hang onto the shells for stealth storage when out and about, and can quickly form the biotech blades around the crystals within a heartbeat to reform the sabers. His connection with the crystals have also allowed him to be aware of the crystals' approximate locations at all times, so long as they are roughly within a mile of him, making them rudimentary tracking devices in the extremely unlikely scenario that they are removed from him.
