PRELUDE
THE BLACK CAULDRON
Born into the slums of Ord mantell, Volgin became quickly swept into the criminal underworld of Freelonn, scrapping and fighting in street gangs before eventually being pressed into the militia of a growing Mantellian Independence movement known as Republika Mantellska. Put into the First Milicija Battalion in the Mantellska Garda under the command of Tiberius 'DC-15' Sava his role became cracking the skulls of those he'd associated with years prior.
His reputation as a fighter and soldier grounded him in the call-sign and nickname of 'Mauler' when during the Mantellskan war against the Keshiri Imperium escalated into the Mantellian capital where Volgin single handily murdered what remained of a prominent Keshiri noble house with a power maul. After the New Imperial Order took control of the world, they tithed a sizable population of the Mantellska Garda into the Imperial Armed Forces and in the audit of the Mantellskan military records to determine unit placement, Alto was enrolled into Project 'Kyber Shadow' and was made a candidate for the Imperial Phase Zero Dark Trooper program.
He initiated the initial modifications for the program, receiving the Adekon Nanogene modification before he was deemed a failure of further training, conditioning and preparation for the program. Rolling him into the regular Imperial Army, Volgin was assigned to the 8th Airborne Battalion of the 501st, serving in the final days of the Third Imperial Civil War and the first few campaigns of the Second Hyperspace War with the unit before he was assigned to SCAR Squadron following the assault on Csaus.
Assigned as the unit's ordinance specialist, Volgin acts as the force multiplier to an already elite unit.
