- Description: The Vorn-Strunga were the latest bioengineered creation of Darth Carnifex and his cabal of scientists. Created from excess genetic tissue accumulated over many years, the Vorn-Strunga were produced as a tall humanoid creature with distinct digitigrade feet and legs, a pair of insectoid wings, and highly utilitarian interior organic systems. They possessed no digestive system and only a rudimentary circulatory and nervous system, their ocular organs underdeveloped to the point of near non-functionality. Their strongest organic system was their olfactory system, as the Vorn-Strunga possessed a keen sense of smell that allowed them to detect nearby living creatures through scent alone.
To make up for this biological deficiency, each and every Vorn-Strunga was augmented with advanced cybernetics shortly after creation. These systems made up for the Vorn-Strunga's bodily weaknesses, improving their eyesight, hearing, and providing exceptional body armor to protect them from damage. It did not protect them from weapons such as lightsabers, instruments that could easily cut through the layered carapace.
Because the Vorn-Strunga were produced in such great numbers, their minds were purposefully engineered deficient so as to deny them higher realms of thought and independence. Vorn-Strunga of certain batches were mind-slaved to an organic hive mind that could coordinate their actions, with multiple high minds controlling the millions of Vorn-Strunga created by Carnifex and his minions.

Through the dark science of cloning and genetic manipulation, Carnifex created an army that would obey his every command even at the cost of their own lives. The IX-73 were the first iterations, and while they were a marvelous success at the time; Carnifex was never truly satisfied.
He poured deeply over ancient Dark Side arcana, studying those Dark Lords who had come before him. In his research, he formulated the creation of the Vorn-Strunga; a race of mindless beasts that would constitute the bulk of his new army. In time, the IX-73 would be relegated to officers, pilots, and elite soldiers under his command while the Vorn-Strunga were the hordes that he would unleash upon suspecting worlds.
At birth, the Vorn-Strunga was deficient in many areas both physiologically and psychologically. To compensate for this, each Vorn-Strunga was augmented by advanced cybernetics that would transform them from barely functioning to formidable killers.
Slaved to a hive mind, the Vorn-Strunga were given one singular task; to destroy anything and everything that stood in their master's path.
