Description:
“When it comes to tanks, we are sorely lacking in what we have. The Mandalorians, Galactic Alliance, Republic, and other factions possess tanks that can be used to decimate our grand forces. When I designed this tank, I wanted to incorporate some of my other designs as well. I also recognized the need for a main battle tank b/c need a new battle tank that can eliminate them, and represent a message that I want the galaxy to be aware off:” We are fearful, both with the force, and with our technology.”

We first need to look at ancient models (T-34, Merkava, K2 Black Panther, and so on). Millennia ago, tanks were used in some form. They are still used today, and with a resurgence in the use of old weapons (mass drivers, etc), we also need to see a resurgence of old concepts. That is key to the creation of the Vornsk Main Battle Tank

The armor is a combination of modular sloped, and explosive reactive armor. With this are layers, upon layers of armor. Sloped armor is well known for being able to protect against anti tank weapons, such as armor piercing shells, (kinetic energy penetrators, and rocket). They armor is seen particularly on the front, and some on the sides. Furthermore, it is also featured heavily in the plates, with the rest of the armor consisting of explosive armor.

That is not all I have to state about the armor. It features a combination of matrix armor, alusteel, durasteel, and durasteel, making the armor have at least 300 mm thickness, with some parts of the armor having as much as 500 mm, especially at the front, and the turret. I also had duraplast, reinforced with titanium be added in in order for the armor to be able to be protected against EMP/Ion attacks; furthermore, with the reinforced duraplast, this armor is highly resistant to lightsabers- a trait that duraplast is well known, and commonly used for.
,
If there is anything that is amazing about this tank, it’s is armament. I ordered for a 120 mm magnetic accelerator smoothbore gun to be added as the main turret, which can rotate a full 360 degrees, making it a highly effective gun. That was not all however. I immediately ordered for other various machine guns, with various calibers to be used. They feature a 1 1x13mm machine gun, 2 2x7.62 mm machine guns, and 1 grenade launcher that can launch a variety of grenades of different calibers. The grenade launcher can be switched for a cluster missile launcher- a weapon that is highly effective against infantry troopers, as well as a concussion missile launcher, each holding 20 missiles.

That is not all. Another back up turret is also used, worth 20mm. Taking into inspiration some of my other designs, particularly the Deck Canon a slug goes toward the enemy, it being embed with an ion cloud in order to affect an opponent’s electrical systems. The slug is launched via the same mechanism as a an ancient weapon, albeit with a slight recoil. Even then, the ancient weapon was known for its high rate of fire power, and the tank is no different.

Speaking of armaments, I should also mention the limited options of the armament. It can fire a variety of tank rounds, including but not limited to: HEAT projectiles, kinetic energy penetrators. A HEI projectile, and so on. The 20mm turret fires the former, but not the HEI projectile.

In terms of other defenses, shield systems could not be added in otherwise the tank would be slow as hell. Instead, we ordered for a new active protection system was used. Taking into inspiration the OS Landspeeder, I also had a similar system installed for the main battle tank. That is not all however.

The tank features a bunch of systems, including a standard comm suite, targeting suite, and sensor suite. Like my own armor, and other armor designs that are commonly featured the galaxy, the tank also features the meteorological, sensors, image intensifiers, magnetic sensors (to track cloaked beings), and many more.

I would also like to add that like other older tank designs, this tank features military grade radar absorbing paint; furthermore, it also features insulated materials, as well as air conditioning systems to protect against the heat.

I hope my tank design satisfies your needs Grand General. I expect the Review Board will be studious in analyzing the design, and giving recommandations. I look forward to your reply, and I ask as always to keep this design a top secret project.

Sincerely,
-General Dratos

Looking for:
-Counter Measures to Confuse Sensors
-Engine Description
-Idk what else I need to do; lol.

Please help? I no shit about tanks other than some basics.

I mean, the pic shows two guns, so I would go with two guns, you know. Say uh, fire-linked mass drivers, designed to put two rounds on to the roughly the same spot as they fire in sequence via a computer controlled system, one a fraction of a second after the other.

I tend to avoid regular projectile weapons, especially those in modern calibers. A rotary repeating blaster with anti-air and anti-munition capability works a lot better than a '7.62mm machinegun' in my opinion. Also the fact that even Stormtrooper Armor is usually described as being 'basically invulnerable to slugthrowers.'

The other systems all look great, but I am not exactly an expert at tanks either. I would recommend giving it a once-over for proofreading and editing and the like as well.

Oh uh, I would check dimensions. A merkava is 9m x 3.7m x 2.6m (LxWxH), which is considerably smaller than what you've got. Nothing wrong with a bigger tank (and given a twin barrel main gun, it probably needs to be bigger) but it's something to consider. I will note that barring dev or something, there's no way you're going to get 200km/h on a big heavy tracked tank.

I personally avoid using anything resembling real world tanks (i might make an exception for the T-14 Armata), but that's really simply my preference, and the pic looks good.

Okay; I will be continuing to work on a tank, and I think it's going to be a major dev thread for me.

If you don't mind, I wouldn't mind getting a dev with each one of you when you are free. If we contribute a good amount of posts, we can each individually have 60 dev posts; I can do a 120 total dev posts in a variety of threads by myself, which will make the tank have a total of 180 posts. Either way, I wouldn't mind the dev.
