PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Manufacturer: Visanj T’shkali
Affiliation: Closed-Market
Model: Vornskr Force Detection/Tracking System
Modularity: None
Production: Semi-Unique
Material(s):
- Thiassen Crystal Array
- Electronics Components
- Holoprojector
- Will locate and identify Force-sensitive persons and materials, to enable ships equipped with this system to be able to find and track specific ships and individuals through the Force – as in the same manner of Force-users. An aura about the hologram will indicate Force alignment.
- Holographic ID system compares data archival entries and identifiers to positively recognize and ‘lock on’ to them, then to adjust navigation to pursue them automatically, even through hyperspace and enabling a relentless ‘bloodhound’-like pursuit or monitoring/tracking.
- Able to – with sufficient time (ranging a few minutes to as much as a half-hour, depending on target size and distance) – locate, identify, and ‘lock on’ to Force-sensitive individuals or materials (provided target is within the same star system for it to be located and identified), enabling them to be relentlessly tracked once the target is acquired, even through hyperspace.
- Vornskr sensitivity can even identify a detected individual or item’s Force-alignment (e.g. Light Side, Dark Side), enabling it to search for and locate, for example, a single Jedi prisoner aboard an Imperial ship or else a Sith holocron being ferried away inside of a transport. Furthermore, when linked to a sufficient database, it can identify the specific person or object, provided a profile for them exists in your archives.
- Vornskr allows “Force Detection and Tracking” to be conducted by ships equipped with this system even when those ships’ crews have no Force-users aboard.
- System sensitivity does not extend outside of a single star system, meaning that if a sought-after individual or vessel can escape prior to detection – which can take some time (several minutes to a half-hour in some cases for smaller targets such as individual persons or a single starfighter) – the Vornskr cannot ‘lock on’ and track them through hyperspace, etc. Such tracking is only possible if location/identification is made and fixed before escaping into hyperspace.
- The Vornskr can be blocked by anti-Force measures such as filling one’s ship with Ysalamiri or using Yorrik Coral plating, wearing a taozin amulet, etc. although doing this can also limit or sever the Force-using abilities of those it is protecting too.
- The Vornskr requires a linked database with comparative images, biometrics, etc. to positively identify an individual person, and similar profiles for ships, etc. to correctly identify specific vessels. Without this, it may spot a Force-sensitive person or a given ship, though it will not be able to be sure it is the one you’re looking for!
- Finally, the Vornskr requires a top-notch power source, and therefore cannot be used on ships under 50m in length or without sufficient power systems to allow the system to work at optimal levels. This means that ships which have reduced power available, such as those damaged in combat and operating on reserve power systems, will not be able to use the Vornskr until repairs have been completed.
Working like a Force Detector on steroids, the Vornskr is meant to provide ships and crews the ability to locate and track through the Force, without necessarily being Force-users. It doesn’t reach beyond a star system for detection purposes, and that detection can take time – time that might allow them slip away if they know you’re looking for them – but once locked on, you can track your target anywhere: Across realspace, hyperspace, throughout the galaxy. Like a Strill hunting animal, it will relentlessly fixate on your target and follow it anywhere, even adjusting linked navicomputers to track and trail your target.
The Vornskr has a linked database, constantly updated and consisting of open-source materials*, comparing targets to identifying information including biometrics, profile and configuration, and will even detect the Force alignments of objects surveyed. This ensures positive identification and enables the Vornskr system to lock on to a target with 94.64% reliability. Once locked on, predictability software based on the information in the profile can even predict movement, tactical patterns, and more.
*Government data can be included if used on ships for clients with sufficient security clearance and access to their home government’s criminal databases, prisoner records, military archives, and more.
