Vote of no confidence

Klesta

The King of Ergonomic Assessments
Due to the current faction ownership being inactive, unresponsive to player inquiries and requests, Senator Klesta puts the following motion on the floor:

Be it resolved that the current faction owner, [member="Suravi Teigra"] be replaced as the Galactic Republic's faction owner.

If you have less than 50 active posts, please post your vote here. One vote per writer please.

I am honestly trying to understand this after sifting through and reading it mot of the day

oh I abstain because this as a vote just seems silly.

You championed going minor had a bunch of people supporting you and voting some who don't even do stuff in the faction aside from comment in the ooc. Your faction owner looked at what you were doing, commented and then decided to listen to you... and then you jumped to the other side. With suddenly people championing staying major when they got what they wanted.

I think her not listening to you or some people while working, being in a relationship, having a real life and still trying to have fun is because she can't figure out what you want when you don't even seem to know what you want. She is in constant contact with most of us who talk with her on the board or skype in my experience, she works to figure things out and listen to everyone. You are making it sound like she ignores everyone and isn't here, I've seen inactive staff for the republic who were gone for weeks at a time and didn't do anything. This is not it as she is here daily.

Ain't No Rest For The Wicked
You know... this is exactly the kind of behavior that made the Republic such a karkshow in the first place.

I am looking at this thread, then I am looking at the faction nomination one and the 'Go Minor Take 2', and putting aside a few reasonable people... I see a whole lot of opportunistic writers who frankly couldn't care less about the Republic as a faction.

All they care is about their own pride. Their idea of what it means to be the GR. The opportunity to quickly snatch up some power.

Instead of you guys just talking it through with Suravi... you immediately try to go for deposing her the moment she brings up an idea y'all don't like. This happened with Kiskla in the past, it's happening now and quite frankly it's hilarious.

Y'all should get your poodoo together, because this is just ridiculous.

I would like to request this be put on hold and give Kay, Cauis and Suravi time to discuss what is happening. If you people want to stay major just say so. Show support for the GR not try to rip the leader out of their position because they are considering changes you do not like or agree with. The GR has been the punching dummy for everyone for over 2 years now. The longest it has seen no invasions was last Christmas with a 2-month break. other than that in one form or another The GR has been in constant pressure from someone.

A long line of mistakes and mis-handeling of events and some intentional sabotage to the faction has put it in a place where going minor is a very rational thing to do. Its members are tired of invasion after invasion. people have left because they want o write stuff other then dominions and invasions and rebellions. Kashyyyk could have been good for the GR but people did not join in. They opt out of writing in invasions because they are tired of them and the map game or they want to do their own stories, which is fine. The GR needs to be rebranded for sure but tearing a rift in it by calling for the FO's head is not the way to do it.

A rational discussion needs to be had with Suravi and Caius, and kay about how to move on. A real vote for going minor needs to be posted not the half ass one that was put up. SUravi needs to put up a poll as FO for that not a member of the faction. In the end sure it is the members that make the faction and Staff should listen to what they have to say. But it is the staff who, in the end make the decisions and who it should be up to for things like poll to go minor and votes of non-confidence. You think Suravi is not fit then message caius or kay and tell them.

Just put an end to this poll because it really should left to staff to work out until it is clear no resolution can be had. Give the staff time, people are stressed out, sure i get that. But by stabbing Suravi in the back in the open with no attempt to first work it out in other ways just sets a bad tone going forward for the faction as a whole.

Champions, all of you. Hold your heads as high I regard you.

This thread is not productive to the on-goings in recent days. I've seen those trying to bring calm and hotheadedness both. We should and I will stand boldly and say WE SHALL allow the faction administration to discuss this for a few days and let them bring forth an official discussion for the faction on a Vote of no confidence. We're not barbarians. We're Republicans. While this is a democracy, we follow proper codes of conduct and applicable rules. This is like walking across the Parliament floor in Canada, slapping Mr. Trudeau in the face and declaring him unfit to lead the country.

I ask all of you to stay any more votes or inflaming the divide further. Let there be time necessary to do what needs to be done. Then we can sit down and talk officially with all parties involved. Not have a French Revolution in the threads.

I really don't understand some of you guys with this thread. I'm just trying to look out for our writers and the faction, trying to give us a break from invasions and other grief from the rest of the board. Since I got here about six months ago, all I've seen is a string of aggression from opposing parties even when it didn't make much sense from an IC standpoint.

I'm sorry that I'm not always on the site, but I can be pretty easily reached personally or within the GR chat or Skype if you have a problem, or just want to talk.

This "backstabber" was willing to help you finish development on your ship. This backstabber went to bat for you everytime someone came poking around Sekalus to go on a Croa killing spree. This backstabber stood up for you against Isley even though you were dumb enough to try to jack beskar from them after they had already refused you entry into the ME. This backstabber is about the only keeping you from getting kicked out of the GR or seeing your character rotting in a prison cell for their atrocities.

I could have saved myself and this faction a lot of grief just throwing you under the bus a long time ago, but I stood by you and others because I try to show loyalty to my faction members. Even when it was painfully evident that you only jumped on the GR train to get your goodies. When the Black Rose was still a thing, you wouldn't give us the time of day.

I think I about lost it the other day with you when you decided that you wanted to hatch some crazy plot to go rob the Mandalorians of Beskar in spite of everything going on right now between the GR and them. Yes, please go fuel their hatred of this faction even more. If I had known you were going to try that stunt, then I would have dropped you off to the ME with the Libita with a bow on top. Funnily enough, all the people you're trying to cozy up to right now would have probably done that from the beginning. You are just a selfish person that doesn't think much past their own self-interests. How dare you try to claim that I'm doing anything that isn't for the sake of this faction.

On Sekalus, do you think the people would just be happy having some foreign invader drop down on their planet one day, terrorise them, and start infecting them with an alien mutation? Do you think they would be happy having those invader proceed to wreck their way of life, tearing down everything that's important to their culture? Do you think they like being the targets of constant abuse because of the rash actions of their despotic ruler abroad? The answer is a resounding no, which is why you get a lot of issues IC. Sanya is a monster, and honestly she has no business with the GR.

I'm at work and my days off were filled with an incident similar to Roche that I was trying to quell. So I'm just sneaking on to try to catch up. Please bear with me and give me some patience so that I can collect my thoughts and speak with the rest of the staff. I'm not ignoring any of you, I am reading your opinions and you have every right to express them, regardless of whether or not we all agree. Just try to keep it all civil, okay? We are all trying our best with the time that our lives allow.

Gotta sneak back into work now....

Still not a Poll, still a pointless discussion with no resolution, and whether you agree with it or not it is still a valid course of action.

As mentioned before it is completely within the rights of faction membership to a force out a Faction Owner. Just because you do not agree with it does not been it is against any rules.

Suravi and Dresden specifically.

I killed the nomination thread not because I disapprove of a no confidence vote but because it removed the voice of any potential members who may want you to remain the FO. Hence why I keep telling you people to post the fething poll and stop creating another dozen pointless "discussion" thread.

A last point of order. Changing Faction Owners does not automatically remove the other Admins. A new owner may decide to keep the same Admins or choose new ones at their discretion.

There was a poll. It was removed from the thread due to reasons(?). Not sure what happened there, to be honest. At any rate, I think it's safe to say that this has served its purpose. If you want to know what people think, you ask, and do so in a way that gets an answer.
