  • Major Locations:
Vran’ti Ni (Hand of Vran’Ti)
62b49b03dc0cf040b789c3d395d7473c.jpg

  • Vran’ti Ni is the capital and most important location on Vran’ti. It is actually located deep in the desert, and it’s true buildings are underground. Above one may see the laborers residences, protected from the storms, but mostly unimpressive. Pyramids around the area are actually Ray shield generators which can be activated to create an all encompassing shield around the area. There is a flattened area that serves as an airport, in which another shield is activated for when the inevitable sandstorms rip through.

  • The overground buildings are the political and defensive ports, almost exclusively filled with military weapons, equipment, and outside is an open area with a stage that rises to an altar high in the air, behind which is a throne of gold. While these seem very large and impressive it's due to the sheer number of warriors, servants, and equipment placed within. As well as the size that some of the rooms have for a more splendid view fitting of the Vran'ti Vo Ni

  • Underneath Vran’ti Ni is the true capital, having levels upon levels of specially designed and heavily armored rooms big enough for the thousands that fill it. It is almost exclusively military, Vo Ni, and the Vran’ti Vo Ni (the head of the planet). It is filled with art, altars, weapons and can open up via either a few select guarded openings under the pyramids, or by the command of the Vran’ti Vo Ni, a full mechanical stage that can rise out from the sands.
The Mountains of the Grai Vo (Soulless) or Immune:
cd4e3ffcca2196aa2610c51ab1bbf737.jpg

Many of the larger mountains are reserved for those called the Immune, individuals whose Vo has deteriorated causing them to pull at the life force of others (in a similar manner to a very slow force drain), and who cause the gifts of the Vo Ni (the force) to be immune to them. They are who prisoners are sent to to perish, and are deemed untouchables by the rest of Vran’ti who believe they have no Vo (souls). The Grai Vo are sometimes used as judges, as they have no investment in the lives of the rest of Vran’Ti, and without souls also cannot feel either true empathy nor hatred (in the eyes of the Vran. As the Grai Vo live much shorter lives, their mountains are mostly them living in caves or small structures, with very few buildings truly being considered permanent.

The Vran’ti Vo:
The Soul of Vran’Ti is where many of the Vo of the Vo Ni have been placed, all connected together, living organs who survive solely through their connection to the force and each other. Is surrounded by a thickly walled and well guarded temple where few are allowed entrance, and it’s presence extends rather far.

  • Force Nexus:

Intent: A focus of religious, political, and military actions of the Vran.
    Nexus Name: Vran’ti Vo

  • Nexus Alignment: Neutral

  • The Vran’Ti Vo is where the Vo of all the Vo Ni is placed, all connected together as one. The connection of all these force sensitive organs causes the Vran’Ti Vo to create a powerful force presence and strength, though it lacks any allignment. Hundreds of these all interconnected.

  • The Vo is a genetically created force sensitive organ born to all Vran. It has it's limitations for working with the Vran themselves, but the organ is quite powerful and can survive on their own. The sheer power of connecting the Vo of the strong causes that force presence already among even a regular Vran to grow significantly, much in the same way an individual of great power in the force has a more recognizable presence.
  • A Vo appears much like a heart externally in shape and size, but if one were to feel it it would be noted that while the exterior is akin to muscle tissue, it is quite certainly filled with a liquid substance of some kind. This substance is like a more concentrated midichlorian host, like the blood of most sentients may possess midichlorians, this liquid does. The Organ then interacts with this through its complex nervous system and muscular structure, which is not unlike a non-sentients brain. Incapable of commanding itself, but more then just a regular nerve in an arm or spine. However, because the organ is only connected through a more simple nerve system to the spine and proceeding to the brain, a Vran's mind can only comprehend a small portion of their Vo's ability and can only push it likewise at a small portion. Since the organ is, after all, artificially induced into their species, it is not truly a part of them even if it is in their genetic code. As a result, they are not truly considered force sensitive even with this organ. Only those who actually would be without the organ are, and as a result, could utilize the organs abilities more fully
  • A Vo is fully capable of every aspect of an equivalent sentients force sensitives ability, only limited because the bodies of most Vran cannot grasp it completely. However, because of this, a Vo can actually sustain itself on the force alone, in the similar way species such as Sith Pureblood may be able to survive on the dark side alone.
  • When connected together through a sort of surgery, Vo can share with one another, causing it to become more like a single organ with various ventricles like a heart. Making them stronger as a whole. And as a result, giving off a presence in the force that gets stronger proportional to the number of Vo connected together.
  • Because the most common use of a Vo is to enhance ones body and to use telekinesis, this is in a way an aura it gives off. Strengthening them and empowering them with energy, getting too close would be like getting too close to an oven in the winter, the more powerful the oven, the more you can burn yourself. But in the right distance, it can save your life or help you. Likewise, being near it, doesn't reduce it of energy, as it simply releases it regardless of ones presence.
  • If one is able to get truly close to the massive Vran'ti Vo, and has learned they can receive it's energy, since they were designed to give their power to other beings, the Vo will essentially project this power onto them, not enough to truly weaken the organs. But which compared with a single individual, agains the hundreds of powerful organs, would cause a noticeable impact. However often, this can also cause even the strong individuals to still began to feel like they are burning up, and they may if they remain too long.

[*]
[*]STUDY OF ABSORPTION: The Vran'ti Vo does not care so much who it gives power to, it is just like any organ. If it is compatible, it will work. An individual who wishes to absorb it's power must learn an ability not dissimilar to a receiving version of Force Drain and Force Absorb and must learn to intone themselves as receptors of the force, rather then actors of the force, for the period of time that they are in it's presence. Allowing the force to flow through them. Because the Vo already grant powers freely, as they are no longer attached to a body that controls them, there is no requirement beyond compatibility. If one is evil, or pure. All that matters is the ability to receive it and the ability to survive it.
  • THE FORMATION:
  • Due to the ever-growing power of the Vran'ti Vo, it is very hard to find individuals capable of emplacing the Vo of the deceased Vo Ni as one with it. As a result, the Vran'ti Vo Ni has been elected almost exclusively as the one that must preform the ceremony, since the Vran'ti Vo Ni is almost always the most powerful, or near enough, they are usually the few who can get close enough long enough to do this. This is of course very dangerous, and as a result, there are coming more restrictions on who are permitted to have their Vo become one with the Vran'Ti Vo.

  • Size: Medium

  • Though the Vran’Ti Vo is underground in a guarded temple, it’s presence extends well beyond into the area around.

  • Strength: Strong

  • Accessibility:

  • The Vran’Ti Vo is both hidden and immensely guarded, underneath the ground in a temple which can only be accessed by those authorized and who are actually told of it’s location. Those who live there cannot leave beyond a certain point, and those who bring them food have to leave it in a specific location and then leave. Intruders are almost always killed immediately. It is guarded by a combination of Ven, Vo Ni, and Shi warriors. All who have chosen to dedicate their lives to the Vran'Ti Vo. It is these chosen who execute the intruders who are not permitted, for only those truly dedicated, in their souls and hearts, are permitted to know its secrets.

  • Effects:

  • The Vran’Ti Vo causes a feeling of strength, greatly enhancing the Vo or force sensitivity of those nearby. Even for those who are not force sensitive, they often feel stronger, and invigorated. It has a powerful presence the closer one gets to it however, and only the strong can even truly approach it, as the power it has can overwhelm individuals, even causing them to burn to death. If one knows the techniques, and has already the strength to get close to it, one can bask in it’s presence and absorb some of it, allowing them to become stronger more permanently.

  • Shi: 62%

  • Ven: 25%
Other: 1% or less

  • Primary Languages:

  • Shrak (local language)

  • Galactic Basic (some)

  • Culture:
Religion:
The Vran are an immensely religious race who’s entire lives are usually focused around serving the Vran’ti Vo, the soul of their planet. They believe the Vo is the soul of any living being, and that the Vran specifically have a physical manifestation of this Vo which comes in the form of a heart like organ opposite their own heart. This Vo is normally force sensitive, even if the Vran themselves are not. However, for those who are not themselves force sensitive, this Vo does not grant them the same abilities as a normal force sensitive. Only the Vo Ni (hands of the soul), who are truly force sensitive, are capable of fully utilizing it’s abilities and sensing the will of the Vran’ti Vo, and can commune with one another without the need of speech. The Vo Ni operate much like priests and chosen leaders among the Vran, with the Vran’ti Vo Ni being the greatest of them all.

The Grai Vo, or soulless ones, or immune, are those whose Vo has deteriorated. Causing the organ to try desperately to keep itself alive by preying on the life around it, even being able to cause other force sensitive and in particular other Vo to deteriorate in their ability, or even causing them to become another Grai Vo. While this does in fact cause them to become almost totally immune to force powers, it also kills them at almost twice or even three times the rate a normal Vran lives, making them almost always weak, darkening the light around them, and quieting noise. Making them often impaired in sight and hearing.

Becaues the Vo can live on without a body, and a body can live on without a Vo, the Vran’s worst fear is to have their Vo stolen from them and destroyed or given to another. As they are then considered even less then a Grai Vo, and cannot be made one with the Vran’ti Vo in the afterlife.
Art:
The Vran are very artistic race, and even the laborers’s homes are often adorned with drawings or sketches. While places like the Vran’ti Ni’s underground is filled with art, gold, silver, and statues of many kinds usually depicting stories or tales.
Science:
The Vran are also specialists when it comes to organic science, they are immensely knowledgeable about physiology, feeling it is necessary to understand their physical Vo and the body it inhabits to better help the Vo transcend from being a mere organ.
Daily life:
Most Vran spend most of their days working, studying, and praying. Whatever your position or power, this is what is expected. Those who laze about are often outcast from cities and considered a disrespect to the Vran’Ti Vo
Slavery:
The Vran have little issue with slavery, as long as the individual is either indebted or lacks a Vo. If a Vran becomes immortal indebted to another by having stolen or broken something irreplaceable, killing unrightfully, or causing an action that permanently damages another, they belong to the most injured party. If they are a Vran, they can even have their Vo removed without any option for protecting it.
Knowledge:
The Vran are incredibly keen on the idea of Knowledge being power. As a result, they will pay for it, and likewise expect to be paid for it considerable. Even believing it so vital that they are willing to use memory erasure devices when only a certain individual is allowed to make use of certain techniques or knowledge.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY

  • Government: Religious Dictatorship

  • Affiliation:

  • The Vran’Ti Vo Ni (Hand of the soul of Vran’ti), Vran’Ti

  • Wealth: Medium

  • The Vran’ti is not incredibly industrious, and so lacks what other planets may want. And so many of them are workers or military. However, it is also not lacking in resources, and can survive independently wealthy very efficiently, raising some to height of riches while others may remain lower.

  • Stability: High

  • The planet is in an almost static state, rarely changing more then a small area at a time. It has a strong military though they are rarely needed. And since it is immensely religious and devoted, it is rare that the people will rebel against their leaders, both because the leaders are the strongest, and because they see them as the ones who connect them to the Vran’ti Vo.

  • This is not however always the case for outsiders. Whose lack of a physical Vo may be seen as eerie and disturbing. They are often viewed with suspicion or treated in exclusively a business fashion. Though you will likely not be in any danger, you may not see much hospitality either.

  • Usually the Vo Ni will be more cooperative with an outsider, if they have business to do. But are not as cooperative to random passersby unless there is something to gain.

  • Freedom & Oppression:

  • The Vran’Ti Vo Ni is the absolute ruler of Vran’Ti and has full control of its laws and military. However, much of the actions of the people except for the Vran’ti’s official military is left to the options of the people. With minimal control made by the Vran’ti Vo Ni or the Vo Ni who rule the smaller locations or military aspects. There is however a certain form of tax, as they are all required to give to Vran’Ti through their service in some form or another. If necessary, the Vran’ti Vo Ni can make a call too arms requiring individuals to serve it’s military regardless of conditions.

  • There are many laws in regards to how one can interact with other individuals, particularly in regards to property and life. But sometimes even these can be dependent on the local Vo Ni governance if permitted.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

  • Military:

  • Vran’ti has an immense amount of ground forces, who are all specialized on rather low tech weaponry. Most of them using melee weapons, slugthrowers, or some kind of catapult such as bows, trebuchets, etc. These individuals make excellent enforcers of laws and are incredible warriors. They often use transports, and have very few space ships that are actually designed for space combat.

  • Technology:

  • Low-High:

  • The Vran’Ti are immensely advanced when it comes to physiological medicine and alteration, even if they don’t always use it. They regularly use molecular healing devices and many of the Vran can name and describe in depth how their physiology works. They are unbelievable organic and environmental scientists.

  • What the Vran have in terms of organic science, they lack in space ships and weapons. Using rather ancient versions of weapons compared to other planets, using melee and catapult type weapons most often, with some types of slugthrowers. They often have to import their ships, many of which are exclusively for transportation and wouldn’t do well in space combat. They do seem to have some more use of shields, but aside from shields, they have very few world made electronics.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Vran’Ti was first discovered by human travellers some four thousand or so years before the Battle of Yavin. The travellers settled and in time became used to the world. Eventually they began focusing on medical science, which became a heavy influence on their culture. For the next few hundred years, they might not have been too different from other planets newly formed. Until the first Vran began to discover just how much they could alter their physiology. They began learning they could form force sensitive organs which could live separately from a host just through the force, but which when connected, would allow an individual to use the force in some ways, though not sense it interestingly. In time, this organ they began inserting into their genetic code, causing future generations to possess the organ.

As time passed, their obsession with the organ grew and grew and so did their suspicions. They ceased any use of their ships, focusing instead on their medical science and the force. In time, what began as science, became religion. The organ became the Vo (the soul). The people who could use it in full, sense the force, were called the Vo Ni (or hands of the soul) because they could seemingly act by the command of some invisible mind and talk to one another without needing to open their mouths. From there, the Vran decided that the world itself must have a Vo, and that they wanted to give it an organ just like their own. They elected on of the Vo Ni to speak for the world, the Vran’ti Vo Ni. The strongest among them. And then, as the Vo Ni died off, they began taking their Vo and putting them deep underground in a temple, connecting them together as each Vo Ni passed away. This would become known as the Vran’ti Vo, the soul of Vran’ti, sometimes called the Heart of Vran’ti. As time went on, they continued to grow in number, and also discovered a disease which caused the Vo among some individuals to detiorate. The Grai Vo. People who sucked and absorbed the force (the Vo and it’s abilities) right out of the air, weakening them, and endangering them, while also slowly killing the Grai Vo themselves. It made them immune to the Vo yes, but at a terrible cost. Because by now the Vo became known as the soul, the Grai Vo were seen as lacking in it. They were pushed to the mountains whenever found, to live out their shorter lives without endangering others. However, because they had no investment in the lives of others, they could be seen as unbias judges, and so often were used for just that purpose as well.

The Vran were eventually rediscovered around 30 BBY, when some travelers decided to use the planet as a hold out. However only to come across an almost worldwide religious civilization with suspicions of these outsiders. The planet did eventually began to work with the outerworld however, and by 100 ABY they had exported quite a few warriors, bodyguards, art, medicine and medical equipment, and scientists. And though they still kept their ways very secret, the world was in a way profiting from this with the outside world.

In 500 ABY they had a more official standard of cooperation with outsiders, requiring a sort of fee to be paid for employing Vran. This helped the world continue to profit even if the Vran never returned from the exploits with more wealth. The Vran’Ti Vo Ni and some of the Vo Ni also began offering assistance in some battles with their personal militaries. Making them almost a mercenary army, though they required quite good pay and were specific about their jobs.

By 700 ABY the Vran’ti Vo had become considerably larger, and required more to guard it. Still it was kept very well hidden from outsiders and even it’s own people. Believing it was important that only the Vran’ti Vo Ni be allowed to converse with it directly, all others could only guard, or hope that one day their own Vo might be united with the Vran’ti Vo in death.

In spite of such medical advancements, even after so many millennia, the Vran rarely make as many alterations as they once did. Focusing more on fast healings, anti-poisons, etc. Though they do have many potions, serums, etc, which have quite the variety of effects. They may use their technology to obtain money, but among each other they have reached a state of mostly equilibrium except for specific circumstances.

Couple minor things that need edits, or are recommended to edit. The first is that link 2 for your image credits leads to Facebook, but then tells me that the page is not found, so I'll need you to find a working link to the image.

The second thing is that I really haven't seen anything explaining the presence of the Force Nexus, how it came to be, ETC. If you could just expand your historical info to speak a little more to that, that would be wonderful.

Lastly, this is the one recommended edit, under the nexus header itself, you mention how the site of the nexus is a very sacred place, and those that bring supplies basically just bring them to a drop point with minimal interactions with the people that live within the nexus. You also say that intruders that tarry to long are killed, but it doesn't make it clear if this is an effect of the nexus or not, so I'd suggest expanding on that just a bit.

Tag me when you've made the edits and we'll go from there

I did my best to follow this.

Now, for some reason, the links are working for me. Only one of those actually goes to facebook but that seems to be working. And so do the other two as I just tested, one leading me to Pinterest, and the other to Wordpress.

I linked Vran (the local species) as they are vital to understanding why the Force Nexus is indeed a Nexus. I tried to clear it up a bit, but it's somewhat better explain in the species application. The Vo is basically a force sensitive organ within the Vran (the local species), the Vo Ni (force sensitives who have the organ) are treated like priests, and their organs are all put together. Since the organs would have become so deeply empowered in the force on their own over their use, connecting so many together basically just creates a massive concentration of force power.

I have now added some explanation as to the accessibility matter, mentioning there are chosen individuals who decided to dedicate their lives to it. And it is their job to kill intruders.

Think I found an alternate source, this one seems to link properly though it won't show you the pic when linked. It brings you to the artist who I think did it, as I've seen him mentioned elsewhere listed as artist.

[member="Nexus Krae"]

Unfortunately the source MUST be able to confirm who originally posted/uploaded the picture. So if you can find the image on the page linked, great, otherwise you'll need to pick a new source.

As for the Nexus, that one will HAVE to be explained in sufficient detail on either this submission, OR you can write a separate sub for the Nexus and link to it on this one, if you'd rather take that route.

[member="Voph"]
Thanks for the link! I have now added that in place for the link.

As for the Force Nexus: Do you think that is not sufficient? I think it follows close along with Star Wars lore, after all creatures can create a Force_nexus such as the Tsils had caused. And the Nexus in this case is legitimately one massive series of force sensitive organs (as I have added to it) of already usable force ability which are existing together. I added a piece into it mention it's hundreds (after all this has been going on for some time, it has had a constant force presence over centuries that only has been growing)

[member="Nexus Krae"]

No, I think you need to expand on the functions of the Organ, and how storing a wide collection of these items would induce a Force Nexus, as well as the properties of said nexus. Such as the limitations you reference, but never really explain. I would also observe that the nexus effects specifically state that someone powerful enough to exist at the center of the Nexus can permanently absorb power from the nexus. If this is being powered by a bunch of Force Sensitive body parts, what effect would such an action have on the nexus?

Work on fleshing out the nexus more, and tag me when you're ready for me to take another look.

[member="Voph"]

I tried to further it based on the suggestions you gave me (thank you!) and hopefully it's at least closer to what you need. If not, I believe I may have to copy and paste it elsewhere and try and finish it later with more description.

[member="Nexus Krae"]

So looking over it still is an improvement, but there's still questions about the finer mechanics that I'm not able to see a reasonable explanation for. First and foremost being that you specify the organs have to be surgically attached to each other, but the mass of organs can vaporize a person standing too close to it. So how do new organs get added? Is it even possible to add new organs? And I would still like to see an explanation of how the Nexus reacts to someone permanently boosting their own Force Sensitivity from the Nexus.

Once again, tag me when you're ready for me to take a second look

Sorry for the delay I was away. I added some more hopefully which gives a little more insight. Also thank you for pointing out the issue of adding more, I should have considered that. I have fixed the problem in THE FORMATION.
