Description:
The Codian Facility created by Vanir Technologies utilizes the derelict husk of an ancient Star Destroyer as well as several normal construction techniques seen throughout the galaxy.
The building itself is neither impressive, nor gargantuan. Built into the side of a mountain the construct takes the shape of a normal spacious building, reading out into the surrounding territory via a broken and cut up star destroyer. This broken and once derelict ship crashed on the Codian Moon centuries ago, rather than scrapping it entirely, Alric and Vanir technologies decided to make use of it.
Utilizing normal construction techniques, to strip and partially reinforce the derelict star destroyer, Vanir Technologies quickly began to build up a building subset. Because most of the structure for the building was already there, as well as the raw materials, The Codian Facility was constructed relatively quickly, rising up from the earth in a matter of weeks, instead of the usual months it took to build such facilities.
The facility itself is a large sprawling building with subsection for hangars, research laboratories, and Communication hubs. There are six hangars located throughout the facility and they are large enough to accommodate anything up to fifty meters large. The hangars are capable of effecting refit and repairs to most smaller vessels.
The laboratories located within the Facility are mostly geared towards Vanir Technologies Fringe Science division, working night and day to create new and unique technologies that will be produced at other Vanir Technologies facilities.
The Facility is large enough to hold about fifteen thousand people. Surrounding the main facility are several smaller agricultural hubs.
These small agricultural hubs, or farms, are simple residential and small industrial facilities. Contained within these hubs are all one needs to operate a small farming community. These agricultural hubs maintain and process the fields surrounding the Codian Facility, as such the Facility itself is completely self sufficient, having no need to import food.
Like all Vanir Technologies outposts the Codian Facility is protected by an attache of Saeva Technologies Soldiers.
History:
The Codian Facility itself does not have a long history. The building was constructed relatively quickly and has only been operational for a short amount of time.
However, the history behind the location as well as its quick construction is rather unique. As mentioned before the Facility was constructed out of the remnants of an ancient Crashed Star Destroyer. It is theorized by Vanir Technologies historians that the Star Destroyer originally crashed sometime during the Clone Wars. This is thought due to the nature of the Star Destroyer as well as the fact that the Codian Moon had once been a home to General Grievous.
This, combined with ancient documents found through research has substantiated the claim that the Star Destroyer originally crashed during the Clone Wars. Since a near thousand years had passed much of the ancient structure itself was completely decrepit and falling apart, when Vanir Technologies arrived to build the Facility most of the Star Destroyer had to be completely recycled and scrapped, only the strong inner frame being kept.
This process took time, however the large inner frame of the Star Destroyer allowed for faster construction of the rest of the facility. The Skeletal structure of the derelict was added to, and then quickly filled out once again with durasteel beams and titanium plating. A process that should have taken months turned into weeks.
The Codian Facility now works as a research outpost as well as an agricultural center for the minute population of the Codian Moon.
Vanir Technologies prides itself on the fact that they took an engine of war and turned it into something for the betterment of the Galaxy.
