Alric Kuhn served as the head of Titan Industries for nearly a decade, at the head of this position Alric learned the inner workings of many things, including most Yuuzhan Vong technologies and shaping methods.
The most famous tools utilized by the Yuuzhan Vong and at least partially by the One Sith are the Yuuzhan Vong's famed Vonduun Skerr Kyrric and Amphistaffs. These two organisms are perhaps the most recognizable pieces of organic technology throughout the entire galaxy. Both of these organisms are used to fearsome effect by the Yuuzhan Vong and the One Sith, both of these entities being extremely effective against conventional weapons and even lightsabers.
What many are not aware of is that both Vonduun Skerr Kyrric and Amphistaffs are not made of lightsaber resistant material. Unlike phrik, beskar, or even ultrachrome, Amphistaffs and their armor counterparts are not resistant against the blade of a lightsaber. Instead, both of these entities rely on an organ within themselves known as the Power Gland.
These unique organs within the creatures create an energy field that surrounds the organism, rendering it resistant to lightsaber blades.
Alric Kuhn, having insider knowledge of Yuuzhan Vong bio-technology and knowing full well what rendered both Vonduun Skerr Kyrric and Amphistaffs lightsaber resistant realized that he could create profit through the creation of something to counter this effect.
Having studies lightsabers in the past, and having an entire division devoted to Fringe Science Alric Kuhn had Vanir Technologies craft a lightsaber lens that could be placed into the hilt of a lightsaber. Ostensibly this lightsaber lens is nothing special, simply another piece of a lightsaber. Within it's Dallorian Alloy and acrylic composition however is a small electrical device. This device 'tunes' the blade of the lightsaber produced through the lens to the same frequency as the energy field created by The Power Gland located within some Yuuzhan Vong Biots.
This means that the VT-Disruptor Lens renders a lightsaber capable of cutting through any biot normally protected by the energy field of a Power Gland, essentially rendering the organ useless.
