Strengths:
Missile Cruiser: First and foremost the Hellion Class is specifically designed to be a Missile Cruiser. Though it is equipped with several point defense cannons the ship is not meant to be in the thick of combat. Instead, the vessel operates as long range support to ships like the Slith-Class Frigate. The Vessel does this by using highly advanced targeting sensors and systems to allow for long range missile barrages from afar. The Ship sits well outside of the range of most fleet engagement and simply continuously fires missiles into the enemy fleet, using allied fleet elements to keep the enemy fleet distracted. This tactic is not knew, and was utilized by the Galactic Empire in ships like the Broadside-class Cruiser. The Hellion is simply a larger, more modern version of this ship.

Curved Armor: Though the Hellion is a fast and lightly armored vessel, there is a design feature that allows the ship to bear quite a bit of fire before failing. Much like the design of the Maladi and the Wyyyrlok ships, both designed by the same people, the Hellion features uniquely curved armor. The ships design is created to facilitate the curvature and odd shape of its armor. The vessel has no corners or hard edges to speak of and instead relies on smooth, almost organic lines. The Armor works in similar fashion as what would be found on a tank. When something strikes the metal is has the tendency to "slide off" and deflect, making the armor more difficult to pierce.

Weaknesses:
Low Crew Count: Due to the placement of the VT-Command Throne, the Hellion-Class Missile Cruiser has an incredibly low crew count for a ship of its size. The Command Throne takes out many aspects of actually utilizing the vessel, and as such the ship really only has what most would call a skeleton crew. Of course, this makes the ship incredibly vulnerable to boarding, and in fact a single strike team would very likely be capable of taking over the entire vessel.

Reactor Issues: Like many products designed by Vanir Technologies, the Hellion-Class Missile Cruiser has an Issue with its reactor. Though the reactor itself is quite stable, the draw upon it can be incredibly dangerous due to advanced systems that the ship utilizes as well as the vessels own more high powered and unstable reactor. This factor is slightly mitigated by the use of the VT-Command Throne, with the user being able to balance the systems more easily than a single person at one time, however, it is still quite possible for the ship to overload or overdraw on its reactor. This overdraw will cause the Reactor to do one of two things, either shut down completely and render the ship inert...or go critical and cause the ship to explode.

Armory: As a general concept, the Hellion-Class Missile cruiser is in essence a giant floating armory. The ship itself carries a massive arsenal of missiles, rockets, and other ordinance that by simple nature is extremely explosives. Due to the nature of the ship, and the fact that the vessel carries only missiles and other explosive ordinance, it is severely overloaded with these weapons, essentially meaning it is a floating armory. This means that if one of these ships were to be destroyed, the ensuing explosion would be much larger than from a regular ship.

Description:
The Hellion-Class Missile Cruiser is the continuation of Vanir Technologies defense doctrine as well as the establishment of a vessel that can be of more used in long range bombarding operations.

As one would expect, the Hellion follows suit in many of the design aspects of the Slith-Class Frigate. The ship itself is much larger, nearly triple the size, but holds a great amount of firepower as well as maintain the sleek look and profile as the other ship. The vessel also maintains the odd, almost robotic look about it, in keeping with the Slith's design aspects as well. This design, of course is in order to facilitate the same curved armor system that is located on the other ship, allowing the Hellion to survive more firepower while still maintaining relatively low profile.

Of course, the primary roll of the vessel is as a support craft.

The Hellion is designed to be a long-range bombardment vessel, not designed to be directly utilized in a fight but instead stay on the outskirts of the battle and look in. The Ship relies on it's faster cousins, the Slith-Frigates to engage more powerful vessels and keep things away from it. Once the enemy ships are occupied, the Hellion uses it's advanced targeting computers to let loose a massive barrage of missiles directly targeting the enemy capital ships.

This is the only roll that the Hellion carries in battle, though it could technically be used to go into the middle of a fight, Vanir Technologies does not suggest this.
