Description:
VT-Kinetic Impact Gel, as it's name would imply is a substance created to absorb kinetic impacts.

The substance itself is based off of a common material usually used in the dissipation and survival of heat, Thermal Gel. Thermal Gel has the same properties as Kinetic Impact Gel, save it also dissipates heats. The scientists at Vanir Technologies were directed to create something similar, but more effective than Thermal Gel itself. This is due to Kiran Vess' insistence that getting punched by a force using Mandalorian with Crushgaunts hurts quite a bit and he needs something to make it hurt less.

As such, VT-Kinetic Impact Gel was created.

The gel itself is rather simple in design, as it's name implies it is a gel like substance. Generally when utilize in armors it is contained within a bodysuit that covers ones form beneath actual armor. This means that VT-KIG takes the place of an underlying bodysuit that would normally be armorweave or another substance. This is obviously a trade off that must be consciously made.

The gel itself works through the same principle as Thermal Gel, save more effectively. When the Gel is struck, it immediately hardens and forms a protective layer, dispersing the force of the impact along the hardened gel, breaking it and ensuring the wearer does not get harmed. KIG is very good at its designed function, it can take huge blows and disperse them in such a manner that the user walks away with only a few bruises.

Obviously, due to the nature of the gel, the bodysuit can only take one hit in a certain area before becoming useless. The gel after hardening becomes fractured and broken, leaving it unable to take another hit in the same way. The force of the blow determines just how much of the gel had to solidify to absorb the damage. For instance a single punch might only cause a few centimeters of the gel to break, whereas a powerful sniper round could cause a dozen or so inches to solidify and break.

The gel also has an interesting effect on electricity. Though the gel doesn't harden when introduced to electric shock, it does have a tendency to absorb and dispel it due to its odd jello like properties. This effect of course transfers to all forms of electricity, including the famed force lightning and electric judgement used by Sith and Jedi.

Due to its nature of absorbing kinetic impact, the gel is almost entirely useless when it comes to energy weapons. Blaster shots and most slicing weapons go through the gel quite easily, lightsabers cut through it like butter. This is an obvious trade off for those wearing the bodysuit. Energy weapons and most slicing weapons go through the gel quite easily, offering little to no protection. However kinetic weapons such as slughtrowers, stabbing knives, and direct physical blows are mostly stopped on impact.
