SPECIAL FEATURES
Shade Skin - The stealth component of the droid and what allows it to blend into it's environment.
Heuristic Processor - A device that allows the Tyr Droid to situationally 'learn' instead of simply following commands.
VT-FD Mask - A system capable of detecting force users and use of the force.
VT-MUG - A highly versatile multi-use system that allows the Tyr droid to better adapt to potentially harmful situations.
Strengths:
- [+]Shade Skin: Composed of Vanir technologies Shade Cloth, the skin of the Tyr droid is highly absorbing of both light and sensor systems. This means that the droid is quite stealthy during more quiet times of the day, capable of slipping in and out of the shadows without much effort. The skin on this droid was specially designed to allow it to circumvent most security features, and it uses this to great effect.
- [+]Durable: Crafted with the rare earth material known as Phrik and composed of some of Vanir's best products, the Tyr droid is an incredibly durable being. The automaton can take quite a beating from a multitude of different weapons, allowing it to survive in the midst of combat without much effort. The Tyr is most definitely a front-line soldier.
- [-]Sonic: Though most droids find themselves vulnerable to EMP and Ion weaponry, the Tyr droid is actually quite weak against Sonic Weaponry. Sonic's have a tendency to tear apart and rip at the Shade Skin covering most of the droid, and once said skin is removed it is quite easy to get at the droids actual wiring, making disabling it far simpler than the designers would like.
- [-]Sensors: One of the greater failings of the Tyr class droid is the overlap and 'fooling' of it's sensor systems. The VT-FD that the droid comes equipped with sometimes screws with the droid itself, overlapping with standard systems and causing the automaton to become rather...glitchy. This can cause momentary delays and 'lag' in the droids actions, leading to an advantage for the opponent. This glitch most often occurs when fighting multiple force users.
- [-]Joints: Although mostly consisting of a Phrik Skeleton, the Tyr droids joins are fitted with several weaker components. This makes disarming(ha) the droid easier than one might expect. Though doing so can be dangerous.
Though Vanir Technologies has not traditionally been a corporation focused on the design and creation of droids, the company has in the past created several models of droids. This includes but is not limited to the RHM, RHDM, and RTM. Most of these droids served as housing for Vanir's Artificial Intelligence; Rigor.
However, as the company expanded and it's product line became more diverse, new opportunities presented themselves.
With the know-how of droid creation already in their back pocket and several sections of The Foundry being devoted to their manufacture, Vanir Technologies made the decision to dip it's toes into the creation of a new line of droids that would be available to select clients and customers.
What came about from this decision were the Tyr Class Combat Droids.
Designed from the ground up to be powerful front line soldiers, the Tyr Class Combat droid is perhaps one of the most versatile and deadly Battle Droids currently being produced.
Containing various Phrik components as well as several other Vanir Technologies defensive measures, the Tyr Class is capable of taking far more of a beating than any traditional soldier. Indeed the automaton can go through quite a bit of punishment, standing up to even the force users which are so common throughout the galaxy.
To stand side by side with it's combat function is the droids Heuristic processing an advanced programming. Taking it's cues from Vanir's Fringe Science division, the droids advanced program allows it to be more than a simple 'dummy' battle droid. The Tyr Class learns as it is fighting, adapting it's combat choices and utilizing whatever it can in order to win the engagement it is currently stuck in.
That being said the Tyr-Class is not a tactic droids, and it is still more than possible to outwit it.
All in all the Tyr Class Combat droid was designed to be the perfect Battle Droid, sent into situations that would otherwise endanger the lives of living beings. A common tactic for the Tyr is to sneak behind enemy lines using it's Shade Skin, then striking from the darkness and wreaking absolute havoc within the enemy lines to draw as much attention as possible.
The Tyr Class is incredibly dangerous, and thus Vanir carefully selects which of it's clients receive and are allowed to utilize these droids.
