- Armed to the Teeth: The Odyssey Fighter has a considerable arsenal of missiles at its disposal compared to the average strike fighter
- Difficult to Crash: The Minimal Altitude Repulsors help the Odyssey craft prevent crashes with terrain during atmospheric Ops by automatically forcing the ship to a certain altitude over the terrain. This, however, does not prevent the ship from crashing into buildings, trees, or other monolithic items.
- Internal Astromech: The Odyssey Fighters possess an on-board Astromech Droid co-pilot that is completely encased within the fighter, allowing it to conduct in flight repairs and calculations without the annoying setbacks of lucky shots from other pilots.
- Flares: The Odyssey is equiped with state of the art flares to break missile lock after a missile has already been fired.
- Chaff: The Flares can interfere with the Homing capabilities of the Cluster Missiles
- Spent: The vast majority of this fighter's firepower comes from missiles, meaning that the ship's offensive effectiveness gradually decreases over long periods of time without resupply
- Maneuvering: if the Maneuvering Fins are damaged, it can and will have an adverse effect on the overall agility of the ship.
Created to replace the Octarch fighter as the workhorse of the Vylmiran Navy, the Odyssey bears many of the design hallmarks of the original Octarch fighters. Unlike the original model, the emphasis was placed on a smaller number of higher performance craft, rather than the swarm tactics of the original. Also among the first fighters to leave the production line of the Vylmiran Drive Yards, the Odyssey marks a turning point in the Vylmiran Navy and its equipment. Another step towards the inevitable goal of naval superiority.
