- Defensive Strengths: Due to the metals used for its construction, as well as the unique guard design, Vuain Sefas bears high resistances to damage and can resist several slashes from lightsabers in duels.
- Force Activated Switch: This modified switch, which is located inside Vuain Sefas connected to the power cell, ensures that only one Sensitive in the Force, and wily enough to figure out the trick, can activate the blade when it is in their hands.
- Eradication Crystal: Crafted long ago in the void-like Force Nexus of Credence as a way to effectively fight the Eldon, the Eradication Crystal is an immensely powerful Kyber crystal that completely eradicates the essences of those it kills, effectively "eradicating" them from existence. Additionally, injuries sustained from the Eradication Crystal physically weaken the victims on a variable scale, depending on the severity of the injury. This can range from mild exhaustion to passing out in seconds. The Eradication Crystal can also be overcharged with Abaddon's Force Energy to increase its impact and cutting ability against the more resistant materials, including Beskar and even Phrik, and even briefly resist the effects of Cortosis if enough energy is given.
- Great Versatility: Thanks to its special kyber crystal and construction of the Lightsaber itself, Vuain Sefas possesses massive effectiveness in combat for both offensive and defensive strategies as well as most areas in which battle could be fought.
- Size & Weight: Designed for the intensely large build of Abaddon's previous incarnations during the eras of the old Empires, the length and mass of Vuain Sefas ensures that it is an extremely difficult weapon to wield, requiring great skill and dexterity to swing effectively.
- Eradication Crystal: As it holds the plentiful strengths of the crystal, Vuain Sefas holds the plentiful weaknesses, which can most definitely outrank the strengths should the wielder suffer great unluck. These weaknesses include, but are not limited to, the dire effects of soul binding, Voidstone when in its natural and Force Charge state, and the persistent detectability via the Force due to its unnatural aura.
- Cortosis: Despite its capability to resist Cortosis strikes if enough Force Charge has been given, Vuain Sefas is still highly susceptible to the anti-lightsaber material when in its natural state and can be deactivated for lengthy periods of time.
- Force Activated Switch: Naturally, having a switch that can only be activated via the Force presents a risk of mishaps and potential ambushes (i.e. an opponent activating the weapon whilst it is hooked onto the belt of the wielder).
Several millennia ago, when Kascalion Giedfield was known to the Galaxy as Dayair Laiul, his sole purpose in life was to slay those who had destroyed his home and his people: the Eldon. Knowing that killing them permanently was not guaranteed on account of their preservative capabilities, the Devil Lion set out to his homeworld of Credence deep in Wild Space near the edge of colonized space to search for anything that could aid him in his endeavors.
Upon sensing the Dark energy of the Nexus, Dayair marched across the molten, harsh landscape and, after exploring and following the beacon of the Nexus for days on end, the Devil Lion came upon the void esque orchard deep underneath the crust of the planet's Cursedlands.
Immediately upon stepping foot into the orchard, the Devil Lion felt a contrasting cold emptiness and burning fullness within him, his bones shivering yet scalding, his muscles freezing yet melting, his blood hardening yet boiling. The orchard made him feel the everything and the nothing of the universe all at once, nearly breaking him down into a sniveling child incapable of more than whimpers and whines as he fell to his knees and nearly falling into one of the numerous "graves" dotted throughout the ground. Only through his inhuman sheer willpower, persistence, and rage, Dayair survived and rose to his feet, mouth foaming and eyes bleeding, gaze locked onto the center of the Nexus where a large white tree awaited him.
With a roar, the Devil Lion charged the tree and thrust his fist into the sappy trunk, his fingers quickly grasping around a solid, burning object within the heart of the tree. Heaving with great exertion, Dayair pulled free from the trunk a black and red crystal that screeched like shattering glass before falling silent under the heavy grasp of its new owner who quickly retreated from the Nexus and returned to his ship.
Upon his arrival at Korriban, Dayair set out to forge a weapon to combat his mortal foes, crafting a Lightsaber of impeccable quality and power with a loop handguard and a flat scimatar-like blade. Dubbing the weapon Vuain Sefas, or the Void Saber, Dayair engaged on a one-man crusade against the Eldon throughout the Galaxy for several months before falling to the leader in quick fashion. Following his demise, Vuain Sefas was jettisoned into the stars rather than being destroyed by the Eldon who had little care or worry, truly believing that the weapon would be forgotten and lost to time.
This would be proven false almost immediately as days later, Dayair recovered the saber in a new body and, deciding that he could not defeat the Eldon just yet, returned to serve the Empire across the generations, wielding the blade in new body after new body before hiding it away along with his other equipment of great power and quality within a vault upon Dromund Kaas. The purpose of this is unknown.
Only recently has the blade been rediscovered by Dayair's newest incarnation, Darth Abaddon, now used against only the strongest of enemies in the direst of times.
