- Provides an easily accessed comm system to keep Vulpesen in touch with his allies
- Internal Systems are protected from EMP attacks meant to disable them
- Small area of coverage. The mask only Protects Vulpesen’s face
- Sonic Dampeners are only really effective on loud noises. An actual sonic attack (Ie. Sonic Blaster) will easily overwhelm it.
- Little to no protection against concussive blasts and elemental attacks beyond what a metal plate would provide.
- No neck stabilization. While Vulpesen’s face might be protected from an attack, he’s still subject to whiplash'
- While the mask will protect against bullet penetration, a solid shot to the head can still knock Vulpesen out or give him a concussion.
Originally made as a durasteel mask to hide Vulpesen’s identity during his days in the army of light, Vulpesen’s fox faced mask has undergone many changes over its decades of service. Eventually changing from silver to gold in color when it was reconstructed to be made of phrik, Vulpesen has also added multiple systems to the mask such as a comlink, thermal/NVG vision, and sonic dampeners to help protect his Zorren hearing. While certainly useful with its multiple facilities and uses, Vulpesen’s mask has become as much a symbol as it is a tool, having been integrated into every armor he has ever worn.
