- Duraplast: The substitution of Duraplast for Durasteel has resulted a material that offers improved EMP/ION resistance, as the material is naturally resistant to such effects.
- Impurvium: The Impervium offers the bulk of the defensive capabilities, but also most of the weight. Fine-tuning the balance of Impurvium and Duraplast has resulted in a heartier metal that does not have as many of the shortcomings of its predecessor.
- Very High Defenses: A new formula for combining the two elements has boosted the effectiveness of the materials, bumping the Kinetic and Lightsaber defenses to new heights.
- High Defenses: The energy dissipation function boosts Blaster and Heat defenses to higher than average levels.
- Light: Much lighter than normal materials, Vylmirium offers stellar defense for the relative weight offered.
- None: There are a number of effects the material offers no defense for.
- Lightsabers: While highly resistant to lightsabers, the material is still susceptible to lightsaber strikes. The material will begin to melt if subjected to prolonged exposure, and Lightsabers will still be able to cut through it with some difficulty.
- Kinetic Limits: Overwhelming hits such as falls or other full-body impacts will often overwhelm the redistribution aspect and pass through to the wearer.
Created after many trials to improve the Kinesium metal, the Vylmirium material was discovered, tested, and deployed. Utilizing Duraplast, rather than the original material of Durasteel, the material is slightly heavier as it requires more Impervium to offer comparable defenses. It does, however, offer superior defenses to the original, even if it means sacrificing a number of other defenses in the process. The blend, however, is far easier to produce than its predecessor. The result is a material that is shared with the whole of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, not simply reserved for the use of Vylmiran Technological Industries.
