- Combat equipped Artificial_intelligence
- Designed to handle high speed impacts using hydraulics and flexible materials.
- Particularly powerful hydraulics and motors allow a much faster and stronger droid than most, allowing it to fight unarmed very effectively.
- Fine Tuned motorization.
- The Artificial intelligence can be forcefully temporarily displaced by manual control. This can be done either over a pre-linked device, or by connection to a headset that reads brainwaves and uses earmuffs and a screen providing all the information White receives, and transforming the intent of the user into the action of the droid. This process can be found to be somewhat difficult at first but may be effective if used correctly.
- Shield provides additional defense for a limited period of time (around ten minutes at a time)
- Radiation shielding helps defend against EMP weaponry better than most.
- Designed to have considerable physical superiority over most droids or organics, especially of the same size.
- Useful range of sensor equipment.
- Combat equipped artificial intelligence that knows most ship tasks (not mechanic).
- Designed to be able to be utilized manually, as well as through a headset that senses the user's intent and makes the droid perform that action.
- Able to perform self repairs.
- Very agile
- White’s manual control and headset requires the proper signal to actually use. And because the headset generally needs the user to be completely still, focused exclusively on using White, it would be extremely innifeccient to actually be nearby the droid when doing this, as it could put them in danger. This may mean it would require a ships boost or another way to reach the droid.
- The energy shield only lasts around ten minutes at a time continuously. This is great for short skirmishes, not so much for prolonged battle.
- White is designed to maximize resistance to kinetic impact by its movements, if it is not aware of an impact in time, or is inactive in some manner, it will take more damage.
- The energy shield will likely not survive long against a lightsaber. A few good hits would deactivate it easily. It was designed for light blaster fire, emp’s, and Ion weaponry. It also provides almost no protection against weapons like slugthrowers, debris, or other physical weaponry.
- While superior to most other droids and organics in regards to its speed and strength, the droid cannot match the precognition of force sensitives, and is still outmatched in strength by species like the wookie or the Besalisk, whose considerable size greatly aids them.
White was made as a stand-in so that Mariah could engage in combat without physically being present. Although he is equipped with a full AI and some built in systems, these are regularly set aside to allow Mariah to take full control thus allowing her a more personal command of the situation. As a result, White was made to have considerable physical abilities, but no built in weapons. This allows Mariah to use her knowledge, but with a body that is more efficiently capable of combat. White is made very agile and physically superior to most he’d run into. However, even with his efficient motors and hydraulics, he still can only take on so much. As a result he is usually armed with a weapon given to him for the oncoming mission. While functioning on its own it has an AI that is inferior to a tactical droid but sufficiently high enough to understand tactics, obey orders, employ skills well in combat, perform most ship tasks that do not require in depth knowledge such as mechanics, as well as knowing how to communicate properly. Due to the self repair function White is capable of fixing problems over time, however this would naturally not replace any lost limbs, though it could perhaps reattach them. This is not an automatic function and would require White to be paying at least some attention to the task.
When under manual control over a device, White simply is forced to perform the actions given. But will essentially do them his way unless otherwise ordered to do. He hardwired not to harm or interfere with Mariah unless she specifically orders him to do so, but outside of that that has no restraints.
When under full control White’s AI is put on pause, and all it’s functioning capacity is used to transfer signals back and forth from the headset he was built with. Giving the user full control of his movements and access to all his sensors more easily.
White can operate independently, however in order to actually control him manually over a device or headset there needs to be a reaching signal. A headset on its own can only reach around 40 meters, and as a result almost certainly MUST have some kind of signal booster in order to use him properly. This is usually done either through the ship, or a series of signal boosters. If that signal goes out, he reverts to his own actions, however he has difficulty making goal decisions not pre-told to him as his AI was not built for purely independent goal making.
W-5 was the fifth attempt at this type of model. Previous models either suffered issues with the headset process or, in the case of W-4, ended up destroyed soon after creation due to user error.
