Wake Up Call (Solan Charr)

It was 9:30 in the morning. Far to late for a king to sleep in. She had let him oversleep long enough. If she could have she would have woken him around 7:30, a far more proper time. But no. She had to give him that extra time and now it was late. She walked down the halls of the palace on Kesh to bring him his breakfast, all laid out properly on a tray. A decent cereal, bacon, eggs and fruit, along with a healthy brewed juice she always had prepared for him. Her shoes tapped and echoed along the empty halls as she came to his door. Haruko was careful and steady as always while carrying everything on the tray. She never spilled. She made that one of her biggest priorities.
It had only been some time since Haruko had been taken in by [member="Solan Charr"] from the orphanage. She was a little surprised, in all honesty, when he was the one to come to her aid when word of her force powers manifestation came up. In truth she felt the obligation was greater than if he were just another force using master. He was a king as well, and one whom she felt devoted to for giving her a greater purpose. That being said she didn't feel the change from taking care of children in the orphanage was any different from needing to tend to the needs of a king like him. At least he was more sympathetic, even when he was told how she was in fact a boy but had identified otherwise. At least it gave her more of an excuse to act as the more motherly figure she was.
Arriving in his room Haruko could already see Solan still sleeping under his covers. She stood there for a moment, her almost dulled looking eyes beaming at the still sleeping king. She sighed before putting the tray down on a table near his bed before making for the drapes covering the windows. She did not hesitate to pull them fully open, forcing the sunlight to flood into the room. She knew it would be more then that to fully wake him.
"Time to get up, Master Charr." she said in a very blunt voice, her expression not changing. "It's 9:30 in the morning and you've a busy day ahead of you."
When she finished she stood by the bed side in case he needed more to wake him up; or if he needed anything.

He had been roused the moment that [member="Haruko"] had come through the door and her force signature kept him where he was as he knew that she would not try to harm him but then what happened next caused him to jolt awake as a beam of sunlight shot over his face. Groaning he opened his eyes slowly and blinked to get the spots out of his vision before ooking over at the one whom he had taken in before turning his head. "Whats with the get up, you know that you can wear something normal right and you do not have to wear that... also.."

He glanced over at the table where the food was and smiled. "Also, you do realize you are not my maid or anything right? I took you in to teach you how to control your powers, not for you to be a servant. I pay people to do that and you have no reason to need to be one." He sat up slowly and ran a hand through his hair to smooth out any strands of hair that stuck up from resting his head the wrong way. "And call me Solan, not master Charr."

With all of his questions he asked Haruko had had awaited him to finish before answering each in the order he asked. Her tone still remained as it was and she kept the very serious expression in her eyes when she spoke. "I wear this because your servants had an extra one lying around. I do not have any of my own clothes. It is also for the same reason why I have chosen to also be a servant, because I feel it gives me a deeper purpose than just learning the ways of the Force. And for...personal atonement. And the only payment I require is to be taught as such while having a roof kept over my head and food of my own. I cannot and will never ask for any more than that. And thirdly I feel it would be improper for a maid to address her employer as such." After that she reached over to the cereal bowl and mixed it up before handing it to [member="Solan Charr"] and insisting "Now eat, sir. It will help awaken your brain while the rest of you takes it's time."

He laughed a bit under his breath and looked at her for a few second. "You really don't have to be my servant though, trust me this place has enough of those and i much more prefer if you saw this as a home, not a place of employment..." He would still try to explain those facts as often as he could because he truly had taken in this girl to be a student and to give her a place to live, not to become a maid as a way to have a deeper purpose. But he did have this feeling that she would likely not be too quick to come over to his way of thinking so he just would go along with it until she came to understand things in his eyes. "Thank you none the less Haruko, and truly you don't need to call me sir, even the others who are servants are asked not to. I truly do hate titles."

"I prefer to see it more as 'obligation'." She told him before wanting to drop the matter. She had her reasons for this and she would stick to them. Whether he agreed or not was inconsequential to her. When he thanked her she bowed before hearing his comment about not liking titles. "If I may, sir, I believe they add more character. Now finish up. I'll have your bath drawn soon." With that she walked off towards the bathroom, readying the water and double checking that everything was in place. Once it was she would await outside with a bath towel for him, still maintaining her very astute if almost solemn character.

He sighed and nodded as he figured this was going to go no where, eating from the food nearby as he thought about what he needed to work on and the main thing was why she was here. The needed to start her training as soon as possible as it truly only hurt her the longer they waited so his head rotated to glance at her holding the towel before laughing. "Look Haruko, i need you to head to the garden and make sure that the area is clear for when i get out there, ok? So that we can start your training without the worry of something going very wrong... that and you really do not need to stay around here and wait for me to be done and ready. I wasn't always a king after all and can handle myself though i thank you for the help." He stood and came over, going to hold out his hand for the towel before disappearing into the refresher to get cleaned up.

With his instructions given she nodded before hearing him mention not needing to wait around for him. As she walked off she mentioned "Only trying to make sure you're at your best, sir." Clearly this was an indication that all of her preparation for him was so that he was ready for training her. Truly a deeper mind than just what was seen from Haruko laid within. She allowed him to bathe while attending to the garden, walking out and checking the area indicated to be where they would train. There was leaves all over and her first instinct was raking them up. Finding what she needed she started clearing everything as calmly yet as fast as possible. She would even double-check before picking up the few leaves she missed, showing a clear grassy patch for herself and [member="Solan Charr"] to train.

Solan yawned as he came into the garden in a mismatch pile of clothing that while looked simple was still in a way slightly regal. The blues faded and the other colors of his outfit matching its main blue well. "You know Haruko, people here generally expect me to wake up on my own and what not. No need to get all push in the morning over getting me up and going. Its like you are acting like a mom when you do it and you realize i am far older than you right?" He glanced at her as his hand came up and rubbed the spots out of his eyes with water still visible in his hair. It was obvious that when there were not guests or other servants around that he cared less about how he looked and more about how comfortable that he was in his appearance. Well the clothing was normal but the hair was the part he didn't care about at the moment.

Standing at attention when he arrived Haruko heard all of the minor complaints and notes [member="Solan Charr"] gave her. As before she retorted right away, first with "It's healthy for you, sir. Early minok catches the worm, or however it goes." After that she thought to herself Though you could do with a decent woman around this place. After that she awaited his word while still keeping the same hard to read look on her face. Focused and yet dulled. It was hard to tell what or if she was even thinking about what was ahead for the both of them.

He looked at her as she waited for something to come from him before he sighed. "[member="Haruko"], you know you can relax right?" He looked at her from where his body collapsed next to a few flowers and he went to work weaving his hands through their stalks to tug at weeds without harming the flowers. "If i wanted you to stand around like a stiff and recite some code about how the universe is so in trouble because of dark siders and how you must get rid of all your emotions and be boring then i'd call my friend [member="Taeli Raaf"]. Or worse, her evil Jedi Master sister." He smiled as he spoke and rolled his head to look at the girl with a smile. "Come over here, i want to show you something about life."

After telling her to relax Haruko sighed before standing in a less attentive pose. She felt like either she wasn't understanding or [member="Solan Charr"] was allowing himself to understand her position. Or maybe he did and just didn't like it. Haruko, however, said or did nothing. She knew it was not her place to do so. When he told her to she walked over to where he was sitting and fixed her skirt before resting on her knees. Her hands rested on them as she looked at the beautiful flowers blooming all around in the garden. This was one of the nicer points of the palace Haruko always found herself staring at. Today, however, she only admired them while keeping her attention with Solan.

[member="Haruko"]

"I want youto take the time to relax and think, to understand what its like around you and to breath in. Enjoy the beauty of the plants, the smell of the air, the feeling of the wind, the taste and sounds. I want you to think about that beauty and tell me what you come up with, any thoughts at all even if it is one word that comes to mind. Like Beautiful, serene, calm, balanced, peaceful, harsh, strong. Anything that you can do to describe how this place makes you feel and what you think about the world around you right now. And just keep looking at it in interest."

After hearing his instruction Haruko sighed to try and relax herself. She figured this was part of the first lesson so, of course, she planned to follow his instruction to a tee. She took deep breaths before looking at the flowers around her, listening to the breeze and feeling the relaxing temperature of the sun and the wind. The more she looked the more she began to feel relaxed. It brought a small smile to her face, along with thoughts of days from before her life here in the palace of Kesh. Back to the orphanage and the children who she considered her friends.
The first word that came to her lips was "Calming..."

[member="Haruko"]

He smiled as she spoke the word and nodded, his hand coming up to brush through his hair once more while he stood and started to walk over to a tree, speaking all the while he did. His voice though significantly quieted itself to barely being audible as he spoke and his eyes had closed themselves to watch how the force would flow in this instant and see just how it interacted with the body of his newest student. "What else do you feel Haruko, is that all or is there more to it. Can you imagine the world around you, see it through your smell, hearing. Even how the wind touches your skin and nips at your hair?"

Haruko continued to breath in softly while hearing [member="Solan Charr"] speak. She'd senses him moving from her for a moment before hearing his words, taking another breath it while trying to find words to describe it. "It's like...being in a bath without water. It just feels so...relaxing. I can tell where the flowers are and where they meet with the tress. I can tell where you're standing, master, even without needing to hear your voice. It's like...I can see through everything."

[member="Haruko"]

"Good, you wont be able to tell details, and your sight is probably limited but what you are experiencing is something called force sight. I find that in calm places like this the ability is easily used but not easily mastered... You should stop now before it drains you and you pass out. You are going to experience that if you push yourself too much too soon. It happens to everyone and its not unusual to get tired after only a few minutes of training so i don't want you to get down on yourself if you don't last long during these sessions." He started walking again and came to stare at her across from the flowers between them. "Would you like to tell me a bit more about your past, what brought you to where you were when i found you. And make sure to tell me everything if you are comfortable with such."

When he told her to Haruko opened her eyes. It was true, however, when [member="Solan Charr"] had mentioned too much of it draining her as she felt a little dizzy at first. It passed as soon as it came and now Haruko was a little more focused. She watched and listened to her master before he asked to know more about her. A first since she'd come to be under his roof but, at the same time, better late than never she supposed.
"There is not much to say, sir." she began. "My whole life was in that orphanage. That's where I was found, where I was raised, and where I found out who I truly was."

[member="Haruko"]

"And who are you Haruko, did you have friends, what did you consider everyone there to be in relation to you?" He paused for a moment but never stopped smiling at her as he lowered his head to her. "Right now i am nothing more than someone for which you to tell your life to. I want you to understand that this training is not only between master and student but more than that. I am the one who is training you but without knowing just who truly you are, i cant know how best to teach you. And the best way to know that is to know who you are and what you dealt with in your life Haruko. So please, go on."

At least with his clarification on further answering Haruko understood what [member="Solan Charr"] truly wanted to know. She sighed, nodding, before further explaining "I did have friends. I was there for a lot of the other children. I was...something of a mother to them. I kept an eye on them. I protected them. I made sure they stayed out of trouble and did what they had to on time. I was...there for them." When she answered the last part it was more of a summation of what she felt would be enough of an answer.
