Private Walk in the Park

Valery smiled happily as she walked through the park with Vera in the stroller. Kahlil was currently out and about with his Padawan somewhere, so she had chosen to remain behind to take care of the baby. But as anybody who knew Valery would understand, she didn't quite like sitting still in an apartment all day. So to make the day more interesting, she had gotten Vera in her stroller and went for a walk through the park.
All around her were other parents with their kids, most of them a bit older and playing with each other. But it was nice to see other happy couples, children laughing and to get some fresh air at the same time. It was definitely a lot better than being locked up at home.
"When you're a bit older, we're going to play here too," Valery said with a cutesy voice as she looked down at her daughter.
The two then finally stopped in front of a bench, where Valery lowered herself to sit comfortably. It was a rather quiet spot, with a view over most of the park and its playgrounds so she could watch the parents play with their kids. She really looked forward to being able to do the same with Vera, but these early years were something to cherish as well.
The crying and stress maybe being the exceptions to that.

"Hello? Yes, they are for sale but I'm not giving you four kegs of Tihaar for that low of a price. Give me at least 1,000 credits more, I have bottom lines to meet too... No, this is authentic, I'm not an amateur brewer working out of a cave, or at least not now anyway... Fine, I'll settle on 500. Nice doing business with you too." Omen sighed tiredly as they put the commlink away. Interest in his brews had grown a lot over the last couple of years since he had first started brewing. In fact, it was almost too much for one person to organize the ever-increasing number of orders by themselves especially when they also had to deal with supply issues. There just wasn't enough time in the day. Thankfully the clone had some help from his staff but it was still a big task. Pushing out a small sigh, the clone was at least glad he could relax in this nice park. Well, at least for a while anyway.

As the former ARC, he saw a sight that he hadn't seen in a couple of months. Master Noble was sitting on a bench with her... baby? So this was the offspring that he had heard through the rumor mill between the Master and Mr. Stick in the mud. Well, he might as well go over and say hello. Maybe something would come out of it.

Walking over in full armor, minus the helmet which rested the crook of his arm, the Clone waved hello. Maybe she would remember him, maybe she wouldn't. Either way, his opening lie would state his knowledge about her. "So that's the baby you and Mr. Stick in the mud had. I'm surprised she looks as cute as she does with his genes in her. It's a pleasure to see you again Master Noble. Some time has passed since we have been face to face."

Leaning back into the park bench, Valery raised a hand up through her long hair and let out a long breath. While Vera was awake, she was rather quiet at the moment, so it was easy to just relax for a moment. But as her eyes began to wander again, she spotted a figure approaching her. Squinting towards the man, it took her a moment but she recognized him rather quickly.
If he hadn't been in his armor, it could have been more difficult, but there was no mistaking him for anybody else now. She always remembered people she fought alongside.
"She does have my eyes, but my fiancé's influence isn't that bad. He's also more interesting than you give him credit for" she chuckled and looked at the little orange-eyed baby, who was happily smiling as a new face approached. "But it is good to see you again as well, Sergeant. I will say though, I'm a bit surprised to see you all the way out here. In full armor too."

Omen gave a soft chuckle at the Jedi's response. It certainly was true, her fiance was interesting. However, he just might be too interesting for the galaxies' good in the long term. Once a sith always a sith or at least that's what the others of the Enclave would say anyway. "I would agree but then again you aren't the one who had to deal with him staring daggers at you for the entire diplomatic session before the shooting started. Either way, I'm sure his presence in this galaxy will shake things up." The Clone grunted softly as he got crocheted down and peered into the stroller. "Just like this little one when she can walk on her own two legs."

He gently offered up an armored finger for the baby to nom on, hoping the Master wouldn't mind too much. It wasn't every day he saw a baby after all. Looking back at the master as the baby tried to nom through to his finger's flesh, he answered the Master's questions. "I'm subbing in to pick up brewing supplies. It is cheaper than hiring out a shipping firm plus it allows me to get out of the house"e. As for the armor... you would keep it on to if it was your identity. Though everything isn't about me. How have you been lately?"

With a smile on her face, she watched as Omen moved down to offer his finger to Vera. The little girl seemed to love it, as she smiled widely and flung her arms around all excited that she was getting this attention. Valery didn't seem to mind it at all and just continued the conversation.
"I'm sure both will have their impact, and I think in a good way. My fiancé falling to the Dark Side had been intentional — it was part of a plan to remove a mark his father had placed on him that could allow him to take control over his son. Now that it's gone, and his life has gotten so much better, I no longer fear that he'll ever return to the Sith." she said with confidence before she looked down at her daughter again.
"As for Vera, I hope I can be the mother she needs to become a good person herself. Whether she becomes a Jedi or not, I want to help her get a good life."
"As all mothers do," she added with a smirk.
"I understand where you're coming from with the armor. I don't think I would have recognized you without it, so probably goes to show just how much it is part of who you are." Valery then chuckled as Vera seemed to chomp down on the man's finger, which wasn't going to even hurt a little bit. She looked back towards him as he asked a follow-up question.
How have you been lately?"
"Good, for the most part. Personal life has been a bit tiring and stressful, but I'm managing. What about you? Been up to anything interesting since we last met?"

Omen rolled his eyes alittle before chuckling at her guess that her future husband would never become a Sith. "Well, I think you just jinxed yourself there but I hope your right." It wasn't his business to get into their life story and something told him it was better if he didn't get tied into it. "As for this little one, just wait till she gets into her punk phase. You will have a lot of fun then."

The Clone visually looked sadder when she talked about the armor, only nodding to confirm what she had said. He tried to brighten himself up when she asked how he had been doing lately. "Other than moving to Enclave space, I've just been trying to keep going at my own pace." The Clones cheeks became alot redder as he looked at the ground for a moment. "I also found someone I like but I'm having trouble getting out of the friend zone or maybe not... She is sending a lot of mixed signals and I don't get a lot of time with her since she has her own troubles..."

Reaching for something on the back of his belt, he produced a plush nexu and levitated it to the baby. "Here, I got this for my special person but I can always get another. If you would like, I could even try some babysitting sometime so you and your hunk can get some personal time. Just remember to use condoms this time... or not... I'm not in charge of you crazy kids."

"I feel quite confident I'm right but thank you, I do appreciate it," she said with a warm smile before she looked at Vera again. Yeah.... the teenager phase was probably going to be very interesting. Especially if she was anything like her mother — Valery was quite a handful until she got her scar in her late teens.
"Mixed signals, hm?" she asked, having noticed the man's cheeks turning red. She wasn't one to confront someone about those things to make them feel awkward though, and instead opted to be helpful. "Well, if you really like her, don't be afraid to show it. But do make sure she's not stringing you along as well if you feel it's not going anywhere." It was honest advice, and she hoped he could appreciate it.
But then something rather unexpected happened.
Seeing him levitate over the plush Nexu caused Valery to blink, while Vera was swinging her arms around wildly. She absolutely loved the little stuffed animal and tightly grabbed it the second it reached her. But Valery was focused more on the way he offered it to her daughter.
"I uh, I appreciate the offer and I'll keep the tip in mind as well," she smirked a little — condoms were probably not going to be used. "But... did you just levitate the stuffed animal over? I didn't know you were Force-sensitive." Valery said with a smile and some surprise in her tone.
"Is it something you've been training with?"

Omen chuckled softly as the Master tried to give him relationship advice. It wasn't unwelcome, it was just stuff the clone already knew. "Trust me, I've been flirting with her till I've been blue in the face. She is just... well she has the emotional level of a machine so it's hard to read her. Plus we both live on different planets and can't spend a lot of time together so there is that... But we will see where it goes with the end. Her name is Aren D'Shade Aren D'Shade by the way. I just... would like to get third base with her someday you know. Have something intimate and special the way only being close to another person can make you..."

Well, his cover was blown now... Omen gritted his teeth as he realized what he had just done. Maybe the Master hadn't noticed... Nope, she did... Nerf his life... Well, it was time to fess up... "Yeah I am at least a little force-sensitive, and it's something I've spent the last year training it up with any materials I can get my hands on. I don't really have anyone to train me with anyone I've approached not having the time to help me. So yeah... I mainly use it for concentration and maybe a little levitation at times but that's about it."

The Clone quietly sat as he plopped his butt onto the bench, sitting over hunched and tired as the Master's prying eyes watched him. "Sometimes I think having the force is more of a hindrance than a benefit. You have the potential to do great things but you can't get there because you are an outsider to every Jedi sect out there. Plus any Sith that wants to find you can." His sign turned into a smirk as he remembered his battle on the Star Destroyer. "Well, I was able to drown Laertia Io in sewage before driving her off so I guess having the force as an ace up my sleeve isn't that bad."

The emotional level of a machine?
Valery blinked and for a moment, wondered if he was trying to date a droid. But she quickly shrugged those thoughts away and offered an understanding smile, "I understand the feeling all too well. Finding someone special has brought me more happiness than anything else, really." She then looked down at Vera again. "And nothing will ever mean more to me than starting a family with him."
With another quick smile, she let the conversation shift to his Force sensitivity. She wondered if he had only recently discovered it, which would be rather unique.
"I would agree with that sentiment. The Force can be greatest ally but without training or a deep enough understanding, it can hold you back as well." Valery said as she turned on the bench a little to face him. "But if you're looking for some training to at least cover basics, I'd be happy to teach you a thing or two. Maybe how to mask your Force sensitivity, so you can avoid Sith a little more easily?"

Omen almost doubled over in laughter when Valery looked like she had just seen her fiance cheating on her. "No, she isn't a droid... Just someone who repairs machines and robots every day, so much I think she has come to think like them." The Clone followed his gaze to the little Vera as she hugged her toy tight against her chest."As for a family... maybe in time..."

The ARC gave a small smile as he nodded in acceptance of her proposition. "Sounds like a deal. It will be nice to get some new skills and get to know you more." He offered a hand to shake with his thoughts on what this new connection might get him in the future. Who knew, maybe this would be something great.

She couldn't help but snicker at his reaction — had her look really made her thoughts that obvious? Either way, she understood where the man was coming from. It was easy to get fully absorbed in your work, to a point where it affected your personal life a great deal as well. This is something that Valery herself once struggled with as well.
"That makes sense. Starting a family is a big step, so it's something to consider heavily." Valery felt a tad bad about giving that advice — her own daughter had not exactly been planned. At least, not at that point in their lives, but they had talked about it already.
The woman then warmed up with a bright smile when he accepted her offer, "Sounds like a plan, then." she said before she reached over to shake his hand. Teaching others about the Force was something she'd always make time for, and making friends in the process was always an added benefit.
"I can likely teach you more than just that as well, but it mostly depends on how much time you're able to commit to it. Some things require a lot of consistent practice, while other techniques might be easier. One basic technique we teach young Jedi revolves around accelerated self-healing and cleansing the body of poisons or diseases. Might be worth studying too."

Omen nodded in acceptance. Seems like they both might have a lot to share with each other. "Well, I guess that gives me more of a reason to see each other then. I've wanted to also learn battle meditation for a while as well but it's been hard for me to get information on it."

He gestured to her baby who was happily snuggling with her new friend. "But I think you should spend today with your kid. You only get so many lovely days like this to savor. I’ll leave you two to it.” He would hand over his comm codes to her before sauntering off. Time to make more business calls… The best part of his day…
