War Thunder or World of Tanks?

I'd really like some help deciding which of these two tank games I should play.

I've played WoT a couple of times but I got sick of dying so quickly and getting rewarded poorly. The amount of modding you can do with the game is really cool though

With WT It's a lot more fun and realistic, but I can't really mod the game.

Should I just stick to playing War Thunder or should I play both games?

Played the hell out of WoT and it was fun, but arcadey and not hugely realistic. WT is far more realistic, more tactical, and much more strategic for me. There's also less bias, but that's just my viewpoint.

Do you play it with premium or what ever? Both games have very frustrating grinding but I'm not sure which is worse.

I usually don't play premium on either wot or wt. They're both very grindy. Personally I prefer wt. There is a learning curve however, and the community as a whole can be somewhat miserable to deal with. It's also a ww2 nerd's wet dream due to the general accuracy of the flight/vehicle modeling, although debate rages about certain points.

Wot feels way more arcadey to me, though that can be a good thing at times.

Premium is nice if you wanna get stuff a bit faster, but consistently playing and doing well nets you far more than what WoT does. Plus there's daily bonuses you can get that boost money and research.

The only real bonus I see to having premium is being able to do a full squad of four, but that's it.

I keep hearing of this sharp learning curve for WT. Personally I survived way longer and destroyed more tanks in that game on my first few tries.

Not sure how many hours I have in either game total, it's a lot though. War Thunder is quite a bit of fun with the planes(admittedly haven't tried the tanks in a while), even with the learning curve, matchmaking can be a bit iffy, but usually i can survive a battle and get at least a few assists. WoT the matchmaking is definitely wonky. It can be up to two tiers higher or lower than your vehicle, and in WoT that is a huge difference. I don't have a major preference for either game, I jump between games quite a bit anyways so yea.

Yeah I've noticed that matchmaking in WT is fair enough since I've been rewarded for destroying tanks a couple of battle ranks higher than me, but with WoT and even World of Warships the matchmaking sucks. I think that's one of the reasons why I got frustrated at first. No matter how much skill you have in WoT, it's based on stats, and higher tier tanks have the best stats and will always outplay you.

Gotta keep in mind, taking down higher tier stuff in WoT is nearly impossible unless you're lucky. On WT, even the smallest tank can bring down something far larger than itself. It's all about shot placement, knowing your target's weak points, and sometimes pure luck. WT is also fairly forgiving at times as its not an HP system with a component/crew system superimposed on top of the thing. WT is entirely component/crew. Shoot a Stuart with a Tiger using APCR? Unless you hit something as the shell passes through, all you've done is give the Stuart's crew some ventilation. Overpenetration is a very real thing and sometimes taking a wee little light tank with flimsy armor actually works wonders lol Hell, I remember one game where I only had assists on three separate targets because my KV-1 kept overpenetrating the target's armor XD
