Description:
The Warbird Compatibility Tester Mk 3 is something that was cooked up in the machine shop of the Dawn Treader after a very successful mission one year. The Wing had just won a victory against another Warlord that was working to take over Chiss space. And part of the salvage were a few TIE models, including some shuttles and bombers. Now, these vessels were normally stripped for parts, however, an excess gave the engineers on the ship an idea. And well, so did a tequila infused Coren Starchaser.
Taking spare repulsors, they were grafted to the solar panels and main body of the craft. Using a spare powerplant, these were to be engaged as soon as the craft exited the Dawn Treader. Grafting the controls of two TIE Shuttles into this craft has given it a dual-pilot process, where if the pilots both choose to dive, go left, go right, climb, the vessel WILL do that. However, if they chose to go in opposite directions, the craft will not move. If they are chosing to go in similar directions, the craft will split the difference.
When Coren Starchaser was the Wing XO, he wanted to increase morale, as the Dawn Treader was without a home port. While inter-ship dating was allowed, Coren wanted them to work for it. So, making trips out to the Hoth Asteroids on shake down was a thing, while the vessel found a station on Bespin to dock with and resupply tibannia. When relationships were on the rocks, or taking the next step, Coren would take the two partners, shove them in the WCT Mk3 with a bottle of two of whatever spiirits he grabbed first, and sent them into the asteroids.
The goal? To see how much the couple could get along and cooperate.
The trick? While there is a small center 'sleeping area' that was thoroughly washed after a successful use, the vessel will not steer unless both flight pod doors are closed.
These doors are sound proof. You get the picture.
After three successful kilometers with no impacts, or 30 minutes of no successful flight, a tracking beacon is activated and the pilot pod doors open.
