OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Wardens are designed as a heavier-hitting, more resilient alternative to the Ashwing - the Anklebiter variant is the most common (and most feared) due to its singular focus on shield-penetrating weaponry. Warden/As are exceptionally well-suited to 'shaving' weapons, sensor antennas, and such off the hulls of capital ships; as a result, they are much better at 'mission kills' than 'hard kills', at least when targetting larger vessels.
In dogfights, they tend to prioritise engines or (more brutally) the cockpit.
Naturally, switching the modules can drastically alter a Warden's tactical profile.
Regardless of the modules used, their agility makes them adept at both dogfighting and dodging point defence cannons; their front-focused shields are primarily intended to help them better survive point defence while assailing capital ships - it is more of a double-edged sword in dogfights.
- Intent: A heavier starfighter droid; designed to dogfight and damage the external subsystems of capital ships.

- The Warden-class is outfitted with all the features one would expect from a vessel of its size and purpose.
- Outside combat, Wardens close their outer chassis and retract the wings, minimising the needed storage space.
- Wardens carry four modular weapons segments, which most commonly feature solar ionisation cannons or Starhammers; more conventional weapons such as laser cannons and proton torpedoes can be chosen instead, but are rarely favoured by Globex.
- Warden/As, or Anklebiters, exclusively use solar ionisation cannons; while this leaves them ill-suited to destroying anything bigger than an average starfighter, they are exceptionally well-suited to blasting apart engines and destroying the weapons+ of capital ships.
- Warden/Rs, or Reapers, exclusively use Starhammers; while this is generally a poor choice for dogfighting, they are well-suited to 'punching up'. If all four plasma torpedoes are fired at a target with disabled shielding, catastrophic damage is all but inevitable.
- Warden/Gs, or Generalists, generally carry two of each segment of Starhammers and two segments of ion cannons.
- Wardens can be remotely controlled, typically by a trained operator located on the carrier from which it was launched, or controlled by an integrated droid brain. They are compatible with both 'Myrmidon' Combat AI and saner, less bloodthirsty military AI. Whatever their software, they are avid dogfighters, impressively accurate, and hyper-focused on exploiting vulnerabilities in enemy vessels.
- Wardens are loaded with schematics for thousands of starship classes and the sensor suite necessary to extrapolate weaknesses for unknown targets. They are remarkable good at picking off sensor antennas and disabling weapons on capital ships, if equipped with solar ionisation cannons - vessels focused on Starhammers instead tend to search for structural weaknesses in hulls.
- Point defence cannons are usually prioritised when preying on capital ships, for obvious reasons.

- Wardens are designed for agility; they have engines on both the front and the rear and manoeuvring thrusters dot their hulls.
- An integrated SLAM drive allows for brief bursts of heightened acceleration for the purposes of pursuit or kamikaze runs.
- Agile Dogfighter: The above-average manoeuvrability of Wardens makes them well-suited for dogfights in space and in atmosphere.
- Frontal Shielding: Wardens have front-focused shield generators; while generally advantageous, this is a potential weakness.
- Low Numbers: Wardens operate in smaller than average squadrons; it is not uncommon for them to be outnumbered.
