Classification: Specialist Commanders
Description: The Warlock Field-masters are the commanding officers of the Warlock caste. Their cognitive tenacity is intimidating, able to telepathically control massive portions of a fielded Bryn'adul army while simultaneously coordinating with other Warlocks, both under their command and deployed on the battlefield at large. They are ferocious melee combatants and have claimed the lives of countless Jedi and Sith over the course of the Bryn'adul's great conquest. Their large bodies (relative to their opponents), thick carapace and tough armour afford them the protection they need to dominate the battlefield, putting them on par with their Baedurin cousins. But not nearly as cumbersome as their bigger relatives, they channel the force not only to grant themselves humanoid agility, but also to rain hell on their opponents in the form of aggressive lightning and clouds of immolating pyrokinetic inferno.

As the commanding officers of the Warlocks, field-masters are deployed under two primary objectives: Firstly, to control either a significant portion of the army or take on the mental load of controlling larger beasts, such as multiple Servitors. And secondly, to command and coordinate with the Warlocks under their command, along with the others found throughout the army. When fielded, they are a critical asset to the cohesion of the assault/defense force. In line with the function of the Warlock caste itself, field-masters carefully observe how the battle unfolds and alter the movements and behaviours of the army in parallel with unfolding events and in symbiosis with each other. Collectively they and the rest of the Warlocks provide the army with emergent intelligence, allowing it to behave as one single entity rather than a collection of individuals suffering the input-step lag of verbal communication.
Field-masters will often be attracted to high-priority targets, either directing their portion of the army to deal with an enemy asset or converging on a valuable individual to attack personally. The latter most often being the case with lightsaber-wielding Jedi and SIth. These being particularly valuable as the glory associated with killing either of the two is immense. Both Warlocks and field-masters can, on rare occasion, be seen with lightsaber hilts dangling from their cloaks.
Strengths:
Tough Hide - Common to the Draelvasier is a tough carapace able to withstand its fair share of blaster bolts and beatings
The Cosmic Energy - Not common to all Draelvasier however, is force-sensitivity. The Warlocks are an offshoot of the Shaman caste; force-sensitive Draelvasier tasked with beast command and days of intellectual pondering. The Warlocks, less fond of the latter, use the force to decimate their enemies and afford their large bodies the agility of the average humanoid force-sensitive warrior
Tooth and Nail.. and everything else - The warrior culture of the Bryn'adul is a fearsome thing. From the Chieftain down to the Sraelvun savage drones, Draelvasier will fight to the bitter, bitter... bitter end. Never expect surrender nor fear
Mind over Matter - A clean fight is a joke invented by the galaxy to keep the weak from fighting back. Warlocks are tuned in to countless minds across the battlefield. Keep an eye out for a savage drone spear tackle or a Rhivak energy orb coming over the horizon
Weaknesses:
Heat - The Achilles heel of the Aeravalin. A blaster to soft flesh will melt it like butter. A hot climate is also known to impair the competency of Shamans and Warlocks alike, dragging their bodies down with fatigue and clouding their heavily laden minds
Sensory Overload - The Warlocks have an awful lot on their minds. Engaged in single combat for too long and their telepathic connection can be strained. Having to think about too many things right in front of them takes cognitive bandwidth, forcing a struggling bond to the rest of the army
No Telekinesis - Although force-sensitive, telekinesis will forever elude the Aeravalin. While agile enough to dodge most things, they won't be able to stop anything with their hands alone
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Warlocks appeared soon after the Bryn'adul's occupation of Malagarr. The rank of field-master was devised at the same time as the caste's inception and was initially granted to the first Warlocks to survive a series of planetary assaults. After the first generation Warlocks, the rank was strictly meritocratic, being awarded to those who displayed incredible combat prowess and formidable intellectual cunning. Present day, it is populated by veteran Aeravalin who have seen countless battlefields and slain similarly innumerable of the alien foe.
