GENERAL INFORMATION
Media Name: Way of The Dragon God Lightsaber
Format: Ancient Fighting Manual
Distribution: All major and minor Jedi Factions (Interplanetary)
Length: Long. It requires it.
Description: Ancient fighting manual of Atrisian Origin codifying alternative lightsaber styles combined with flexible, solid weaponry, as well as being one of the earliest codexes--and possibly among the very few at that-of the Lightwhip.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
Author: Mizuchi (Ancient Atrisian Jedi)
Publisher: Mizuchi originally, now, only trusted modern day Jedi associates
Reception: Initially, only one copy, and only shown to the most wise and learned, and, more importantly, trusted of Jedi Weapon Masters. Originally thought lost, a single copy was found preserved in Castle Morpheus's Stasis Chamber Vaults and translated into basic by Nine before destributing a single copy of the original to all major and minor Jedi Factions, the original still preserved aboard her ship.
FORMAT INFORMATION
The format of the book is full of an esoteric, poetic narrative more in common with ancient poems as opposed to fighting manuals. This is meant to disguise the secrets within to all but the most perceptive and attentive. This weeds out the careless, who would no doubt kill themselves attempting to learn the weapon itself, as well as the short sighted, who must be masters of strategy to wield light whip weapons effectively
The format is framed around the mythical seven day battle between the Atrisian Water Diety Ryujin (Which means "Dragon God") and the semi-mythical Jedi Monk Rido ("Reed")
Ryujin, the Lord of The Sea, master of the lightwhip, is outraged when he hears that the Jedi Monk Rido is considered undefeatable due to his own use of the same weapon. The Dragon God makes the ocean tremble with his rage until the people beg Monk Rido to confront Ryujin so that they will be able to draw their catches from the water again and their children will not starve. Rido reluctantly confronts Ryujin and after a failed attempt to get him to cease hostilities, the Monk draws his own lightwhip and the pair battle on a beach shore, the ocean and thunder raining down on both, and the book becomes split into seven parts, covering the philosophy and mindset necessary to use the light whip, as well as the Atrisian developed variants of it, and Ryujin tests Rido in every facet, warning that any failure will result in death. Rido passes every facet and Ryujin is forced to admit that though he is the god of the sea, he cannot be a god in all things. Rido departs, knowing his failure to immediately counteract the claim he was unbeatable led to the people being miserable.
The narrative is interspliced with highly detailed art work of Ryujin's movements with the light whip against those of Monk Rido, gradually changing to the Atrisian variants (Which Ryujin claims are the original variants of the light whip, but this has proven impossible to verify) and without it, deciphering the secrets hidden in the poetic narrative is impossible.

PREFACE
Wise and learned Jedi Masters, take heed of the hidden treasures of the words within, so that you might be led to martial enlightenment.
--Nine Lives
The Ryujin, who roamed the seas to tend to the needs of his subjects, was very humble normally, but upon hearing that Monk Rido was more skilled in the Dragon's Dawn Blade than he, was greatly incensed, and rumbled and roared his discontent, ordering his subjects to evade the nets of the fisherman and disrupt the balance of Atrisia until Monk Rido came to see him.
The Atrisians, who were fond of their catches, and who grew fearful when their children's stomachs grumbled anxiously, petitioned the old Jedi.
"Monk Rido." The People said. "The Ryujin is angry that you are more master of the Dragon's Dawn Blade than he."
"I did not claim to be better." The old Jedi protested. "It was you who claimed this."
"But you did not deny it."
The old monk sighed and left his lonely grove to confront the Ryujin at the beach of his forefathers. The Dragon soon proved to be intractable.
"If you are not unbeatable, then why did you not immediately admit it?"
"Because no one has defeated me yet."
Mistaking this answer for pride Ryujin grew spiteful.
"I shall test you." The God proclaimed. "A great duel we shall have. If you survive me for seven days without rest, then I shall spare you, mortal. Make one mistake, and you shall feed my subjects."
Monk Rido agreed, and drew his lightwhip...
SECTION ONE: DRAGON'S DAWN BODY
The dragon danced its sacred dance across the water as its blade flicked at Rido, who danced the dance of Earth and fire to evade it. The Ryujin saw that his body's command of the heavenly leap and the heavenly tornado, made his blade thrash like the ocean...
(Excerpt from opening chapter)
(This section covers posture, reflexes, positions from the opponent relative to oneself and basic information about the lightwhips limitations, slyly disguised as Ryujin's attempt to distract Rido with conversations)
SECTION TWO: DRAGON'S SEA MIND
The Dragon grew perplexed as the quiet monk easily evaded his dance with a dance of his own. Next he began to attack his mind as they fought, whispering old sea magics to try and cloud his judgement and planning, and saw that the monks thoughts too, were heavenly...
(This details the proper mindset necessary to master lightwhip combat, with a focus on discipline and planning ahead, as well as anticipating the strategies of those armed with weapons to counter lightwhips.)
SECTION THREE: DRAGON'S DAWN JEDI SWORD
When The Dragon saw that his body and thoughts were those of heaven, The Dragon began to test his mastery of the Jedi Sword he used truly, and began to fight him in earnest, striking him in all three of the disciplines of the Dragon's Dawn Journeyman Blade that it could be used with...
(Covers the various styles the standard lightwhip can be performed with, as well as extended asides on various light whip masters who were extant at the time, and what they learned, disguised as the complaints of the Dragon)
<
SECTION FOUR: DRAGON'S DAWN BLADE RELATIVES
Now truly in a fury, the Ryujin summoned the immediate relatives of the Jedi's sword, and struck at him with all their variants, only to find that his command of them was as heavenly as everything he had seen so far. The Knight begins to tire...
(Covers variants of the lightwhip that had gained recognition offworld, discussing both the solid tassles charged with energy variants, and the ones genuinely giving off multiple small whips of energy while praising the single pure energy whip variant and emphasizing its use)
SECTION FIVE: ELDER DRAGON'S DAWN SERPENT DART
Having exhausted his own command of the offworld variants, The Ryujin turns to what he claims are the truly ancient and original variants of Light Whip combat, surprising and almost killing the monk with a variant of lightsaber now identified as The Rope Dart Lightsaber, making the monk truly fight for his life now against the quick treacherous movements of the rope dart...
(Covers all known knowledge of Rope Dart Lightsaber combat, including materials to make the "rope" out of.)
SECTION SIX: DRAGON'S DAWN CLAW BLADE:
When he saw Rido could withstand even his rope dart, Ryujin turned to truly ancient knowledge testing him with Dragon Claw, and The Monk was truly on the verge of exhaustion on the sixth day but held fast against a treacherous assault...
(Covers the hybrid lightsaber weapon known as the Raito-Kusarigama, a weighted chain which attaches to a hilt emitting a kama-like energy blade the size of a shoto, and deals with ensnarement techniques using the weapon as well as ways to counter them, advising the solid parts ve constructed of as much saber resistant material as possible, as with the rope dart.)
SECTION SEVEN: HIDDEN DRAGON'S DAWN BLADE:
Now throughly humiliated by the monk, Ryujin resorts to his most hidden knowledge, which proves the most difficult to overcome, removing a curved hilt lightsaber converted to a Kusarigama and attacking Monk Rido...
(Covers the hidden Discipline of Kusarigamakashi-Jutsu, a hybrid style combining curved hilt or standard lightsabers with the architecture of a Kusarigama and the fighting style of Makashi and Niman, detailing strength and weaknesses of this style)
When Ryujin saw that even this could not fell Monk Rido, he was humiliated beyond words and yet humbled, for though Rido was too exhausted to fight he had survived exactly seven days in battle. Forgoing his grudge and admonishing himself, Ryujin spared Rido and declared him his best student, passing onto him the secrets of the Dragon God's fighting. And Monk Rido left humbled, knowing he would have lost had it gone on any further.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Way of The Dragon God Lightsaber-Arts is one of the Ten Lost Works of Tengu Temple, a Jedi Academy on Atrisia infamous for securing such obscure works for their weapon masters. Considered one of the earliest (And possibly only) true treatise on Lightwhip fighting. It was framed as a heavily disguised epic poem when it was first created by the ancient Atrisian Jedi Mizuchi, a weapon master who painstakingly spent years gathering all that he could learn of lightwhip type weapons in one volume of work, in order to preserve its most ancient secrets for future generations of Jedi and to prevent the light whip's obsolescence and extinction. Though gathered by Mizuchi, it was the research of dozens of learned master both native to and not native to Atrisia, their knowledge preserved in extremely old and obscure books before being collected by Mizuchi. That Mizuchi uncovered so much was testament to the skill it took.
This ancient manual is possibly one of the largest gatherings of lightwhip relevant information on record, detailing extremely obscure secrets of fighting with one only an expert could know, as well as truly astounding alternative methods of lightsaber combat that have been blended with Atrisian techniques. It was old when Exar Kun was still a padawan.
Had it not been for the foresight of Mizuchi, this manual would have likely burnt with the rest of the copies when Tengu Temple was put to the torch by Dark Side Cultists thousands of years ago. Mizuchi had hidden a single copy in ancient stasis vaults on Atrisia that were later scavenged by Nine when getting The Castle Morpheus up and running for the very first time, the book finding a place in her library, preserved in its small chamber. When Nine began renovating after being revived in the modern era, she discovered this old tome, and upon realizing she had a priceless Atrisian cultural artifact she immediately began translating it, a process that took months.
Binding up copies of the massive text, which covers practically everything you could want to know lightwhips and then some, Nine anonymously delivered the text to the main headquarters of every major and minor Jedi faction, sending copies to [member="Sawa Ike"], and [member="Karlie Lynn Destat"] (as a diplomatic gift, and an early sign Karlie is seriously being considered for invitation into Clan Li-Ves)
With this manual in possession, Nine hopes to facilitate a renaissance in lightwhip fighting, taking it from the fringe, even starting to practice some of it herself...
Due to the lightwhips flexible nature, it was associated with the soft schools of martial arts on Atrisia, and was associated with water in particular, which dragons are often governers of in many Atrisian myths, hence its name of "Dragon God Lightsaber"
This fighting discipline is formally recognized as Ryujin-Raitoseba-Jutsu on Atrisia.
