Coruscant
[member="Yula Perl"]

It seemed to Vik that no matter where or what planet he found himself on, he would always find trouble. It was par for the course, not only for him, but anyone as life in this galaxy was a melting pot of all types of people with all types of agendas and some of those were not honourable. Initially he thought it was him, and in part it probably was, but it did not take long to work out how to avoid it as best one could. He had been on Coruscant for several weeks, waiting. But in that time he had managed to secure himself a job in one of the more up market hotels as a manager for the night shift, he had 'persuaded' the management to hire him, coupled with his inherent charm which he seemed to have a wealth of. It paid well too.

Vik had finally received a message from Yula, where she had been all this time he did not know, and she did not say, but they are to meet at a place in the entertainment quarter, call Dusk. He had quit his job and with the credits earned was able to book passage home for them both. A long trip that would see them hop around the galaxy to get to Midvinter, and the last leg of the journey they would have to take a freighter which was to delivery supplies to High KIng of Midvinter.

A rather well appointed shuttle pulled up outside of the nightclub and Vik climbed out. Strangely, he did not feel out of place here, nor did he look it as he was dressed in a fine suit and shoes, although he wondered if he had enough credits on him to afford it. Yula instructed him to give his name at the door, he was not sure why but he would do as asked and so he buttoned up his suit jacket and approached the main entrance. He was stopped, by a big bloke who wanted to see his pass which he did not have, but Vik gave his name and after checking a manifest, he stood aside to let him in.

As Vik moved pass the main entrance, it took only seconds for his jaw to drop to the floor as he entered and found himself in the club with all his senses assaulted with colour and movement, and the sound of music pinning his pointed ears to the side of his head. It was like he entered a dream state, but this place was alive with energy and a throbbing beat that seemed to pierce the body and change the rhythm of his heart. The place was huge.

How am I going to find her in here.

There seemed to be no end to the place, so rather than search for her, he had to hope Yula would somehow find him. He found himself in a second room, a different area for dancing, different music and the crowd thick on the dance floor which he edged around watching them until coming to the bar. Everyone in the place was beautifully dressed, the place for the attractive people it seemed and even the waiters and waitresses were stunning. The whole place was intoxicating.

After ordering a drink from one of the scantly clad waitresses, Vik leaned his back against the bar and drank in the experience. His foot tapping on the floor to the beat of the music.

Win, lose—it didn’t matter to Yula, at least not right now. The battle of Skor II hadn’t just left her with a concussion and missing teeth, but the emotional toll of encountering her biological father weighed on her. Especially so given that he had approached her as an opponent, only recognizing her after a bout of combat that had left her woozy and exhausted.

Fortunately the physical damage wasn’t lasting. She’d been patched up and on a short round of bed rest before returning home, at a loss for what to do next. The memories she had of her father were sparse and their recent meeting left her with more questions than ever. She’d passed out before she could get any sort of answers.

She needed something, anything to get away from the painful outcome of war. That was when she remembered Vik’s offer to visit him on Coruscant. Initially she told him that she would meet up with him in a week or so, but the precautions over Outer Rim Coalition territory drew her and her grandfather to Skor to defend the world against a looming imperial threat. Now though, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. Her mother’s reach had extended to the jewel of the galaxy in the form of a night club, so that was where she’d told Vik to meet her.

A familiar figure clad in black leather slipped into the seat beside Vik, leaning against the bar with the largest grin on her face. “What did you order? Something good I hope.” Yula swirled her own drink in her hand idly, listening to the cubes of ice clink together before taking a sip. “It’s good to see you again, Vik.” Her tone was warmer now, more genuine. It really was good to see him.

Though humid and loud, the atmosphere of Dusk was something refreshing. This was not a battlefield of dirt and grime, this was not a medbay with its sterile sheets and walls and machines. This was somewhere alive. A place where she wasn't constantly reminded of what had happened. It was comforting in that sort of way.

“You look good.” She commented idly, leaning an elbow on the bar with her chin resting in her hand. “I like the suit.”

His drink had arrived presented to him on a small try, and with a suggestive smile from the waitress, Vik promptly dug into his pocket for the credits and gave them to her. She walked away with a sense of theatrics in her swaying of her hips and Vik came to the conclusion he had over tipped her. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the movement of another person move in next to him at the bar. It was difficult to discern any familiarity here, there was just too many people to pin point any sense of recognition through the Frostvatn or the force as the wider galaxy calls it. But her voice however.

He met her wide smile with his own and raised the glass to her, "Something called a Sapphire Fogblaster", he presented the drink which did look rather, blue. But instead of drinking from it, he placed it on the bar to give Yula his full attention to greet her. "It is good to see you too", now he noticed what she was wearing and for a moment his mind failed him for rational thought.

It was not the first time he had seen her wearing so little, but all dressed up in her club wear she looked stunning and more beautiful. "I am glad you found me. I would have gotten lost in here". He leaned in and kissed her soft cherry blossom cheek.

"You look amazing", he added after her complimenting of his suit, but there was something in her eyes that spoke of sadness. The presence of this was not there when they first met, something had changed. Although Vik no longer possesses the ability to extract the secrets of others, which he is grateful for, he could still read them, the eyes and his brow creased with concern. And it was where he decided to focus his attention, as she leaned her chin on her hand, even though all his male instincts were pulling him in an entirely different direction.

She grinned wider as his lips brushed against her cheek in greeting, a momentary flush heating them at the unexpected gesture. “Lost? You seem to be doing fine on your own.” Yula tilted her head towards the retreating waitress with the well-shaped backside. “Should I start calling you ‘Heartbreaker’?”

The atmosphere was light, unleavened by the air of war that she’d been around in the past few weeks. Thus, it felt good to tease her friend. Though they hadn’t known eachother for very long, he was something of a familiar face to her and the two had gotten along rather well during their journey on Zeltros. She found Vik to be thoughtful and pleasant to be around.

Her outfit seemed to have garnered some attention, a fact that played as a smirk on her lips against the rim of the glass. Though often on the go, it was nice to dress up every now and again—it made her feel good, feel desired.

“So tell me, how have you been?” She eyed the drink he had for a moment, noting the way the blue liquor swirled in the short glass. “Coruscant treating you right?” Though the world was prosperous, the Sith had razed a sizable portion of the city-planet after the Galactic Alliance had fallen. Though reconstruction efforts were well underway, Coruscant remained unprotected and unclaimed by any of the major galactic powers.

"Hey I had nothing to do with .. that", he smirked as he watched Yula's eyes follow the young woman. The truth was there was no one in the room that could possibly compare to Yula for beauty. Finally he picked up his drink and sipped it, and it was rather good but very strong which he would have to take it easy if he was to get through the night in the company of someone he much preferred. The music had changed as well, the only complaint he would have of this place is that the current songs seemed to drone on a little too long. But the beat was very inviting.

"I suppose it is", he said of Coruscant, not really knowing what to expect of the place. "I was down in the lower levels for a while .. interesting place", which it was and there was a great deal of people living a life unseen by most that remained on the upper levels. For all it's grime and crime, there was an industrial beauty in the place the likes of which he had not expected. They, that live there, seemed to have been forgotten by who ever ruled the planet, regardless of whether Sith or Jedi or Republic or Alliance, not much had changed he was told by the locals. One ruler was the same as the last and the next.

"I have been doing just fine", which he had with his job that had provided him some more stability and income. "Let me buy you a drink", he smirked as he turned to the summon the bar tender. "Order whatever you like". While Yula was not looking, Vik took a moment to take her in more, from her long dark hair, the curve of her body and her legs before turning his gaze away. But there was nothing so illusive and alluring to him than her lips.

"After we finish our drinks .. would you care to dance, my Lady?".

[member="Yula Perl"]

“I’m sure it didn’t.” Yula teased him wryly. “Nothing to do with the credits or the handsome man in a sharp suit.” She watched him sip his drink with a curious eye, suddenly curious about the alcohol tolerance of the Aelvar. Zeltron naturally had a strong constitution when it came to drinking, but Yula lacked the second liver for that. Nor was she particularly interested in imbibing on a regular basis.

“That is good.” Nodding carefully, a brow quirked upwards as he offered to buy her a drink. The reason she’d invited him here was simple—it was a free ride from the entrance to the drinks. For her at least, but she’d make sure that Vik was comp’d for an expenses tonight. “Really?” She smiled, weighing the idea of telling him now that the club belonged to her mother. Maybe she’d wait, let him know later on in the night. It was no big secret, but she did find it a little fun.

Turning towards the bartender, she smiled. “I’ll have a Tatooine Sunburn. Thank you, Vik.” The bartender nodded and turned away, rummaging for the bottles of liquor before he began mixing the cocktail.

“Of course. Have you been to a place like this before?” He likely had given that they had met on Zeltros, the galactic party capital. The bartender slid her requested drink on the counter and she smiled in thanks. The man gave her a curt nod, moving on to deal with the handful of shouted requests coming from the other end of the bar. The night was in full swing.

“My lady?” She practically snorted in the glass as she took her first sip. “Come on now, I thought we were on a first name basis. After all,” Her fingers tightened against the glass, enough for an established grip as she tilted the rim to her lips and downed half of the cocktail in one go. “You’ve seen me nearly naked. And I’ve seen you…well, very naked.” She laughed while wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, at ease and a little more open than before thanks to the alcohol. At the time of the nude incident, she’d found many other places to look than his pelvic region. After the first glance of course.

The fact that Yula thought him handsome had gone unnoticed, but he would let it go as such. It would be difficult to be on Zeltros and not go to a place like this but Vik had managed to do just that. Those were not the sights of the planet he wished for, he avoided them but now being here with her, he wished he hadn't but life might have taken him in an entirely different direction. He probably would not have met her and the idea of that was not a likable one. "No. I haven't in fact", he looked around at all the sights on offer, the colour and movement delighting all the senses at once.

Vik turned caught a glimpse of the interaction between the bar keeper and Yula, and noted a sense of knowing between the two and he realised that this was not her first time here, and he supposed that was correct considering she had suggested this place in which to meet. "You came here much?". Sound like an old pick up line, but that was not the purpose of the question.

It was his turn to take up his drink and hide a smile at her last statement, "It is a term of endearment, rather than formal", his emerald green eyes flashed at her, and hint of play sparkled in them, all she had to do was place emphasis on the 'my', rather than the 'lady'. "Well, I guess I am still learning what is acceptable outside of Midvinter when it comes to customs, but for me and my people the naked body is not something we are ashamed of but consider it normal". He took a sip of his drink to occupy his mind away from the memory she had just invoked in him, of her standing on the rocky cliff in only her undergarments. He was fighting a loosing battle of course, what she was wearing now not helping in his endeavours.

And so Vik tilted his glass higher and drank just as she had done until the blue liquor was gone. He was hit by a sudden swimming sensation to his mind but that was short although he would have to watch his intake if to last the night. Valkyri have capacity to hold much liquor, not so much the Aelvar.

“Sometimes.” She weighed her options right now. “I know the owner.” Was raised by the owner, more like. As a child, Yula remembered her mom going off to meetings a lot but not quite understanding the nature of her work beyond fashion aspect of it. She hadn’t been exposed to her family’s work in the entertainment industry until she was older. Occasionally she’d be asked to visit one of the establishments, blend in with the crowd and see how things were going as a quality check of sorts.

The talk of nudity gave her pause and allowed her to consider the fact that not all cultures placed a stigma on the naked body. “Makes sense.” She shrugged. “Zeltros doesn’t see nudity as a negative thing. A positive thing, in fact. If you couldn’t tell how sexually charged the planet is,” That last part was mumbled as she practically snorted into her drink before downing the rest of the liquor. Gasping, Yula reveled in the burn as it traveled from the back of her throat and down into her chest. Though not anything near a full Zeltron, she wasn’t a prude in regards to having fun. Not all the time, anyway.

A low whistle accompanied Vik’s finishing of the drink. “How is it?” She asked, raising her voice a bit over the general din of the club. Already a few drinks in, she was feeling loose. “Come on, let’s dance!” Wasting no time, she grabbed his wrist and headed for the dance floor.

[member="Vik Velkarson"]

He shook his head somewhat trying to clear his senses as the sudden intake of alcohol began to effect his head and he started to feel relaxed. "It was good", he said with a smile and was about to order another. But Yula had another plans and with her taking him by the wrist, he was pulled to the dance floor. She led him through the throngs that were already there dancing with legs and arms flaying about the place, the music was intoxicating or was it the drink that had his mind and mood changed to it? Probably.

There was one small gap, a place were they could dance without bumping into other dancers and it was near a small stage or platform and on the back wall was images of colours and footage of random people dancing picked out from the crowd. For a moment unsure of what to do, he watched the others and quickly studied their steps and movement. There was no shy shuffling on this dance floor, everyone was well practiced and seemed to have some sort of method to their steps. I can do this. There was always a sense of play in Vik, and he had shed the once demeanour of self awareness that his curse had had he held. He felt so free now that it was gone.

He turned to stand opposite Yula and began to dance. A cheeky look toward her inviting her to do the same before the music took hold of him and he started to move without a care in the world. Making his way over to where she danced, he took her in his arms and began to dance with her, guiding them both around their little space raising one arm with her hand in his, turning her under it and delighting in the movement of her hips.

This was fun, and freeing of all life's problems and Vik simply let go of everything that plagued his mind. He always could around her.

Yula was already a few drinks into the night, enough for any inhibitions she harbored to take a seat on the backburner. There wasn’t much holding her back as it was—dancing in a club with a cute guy was hardly wild behavior.

Head tilted back, Yula raised her arms above her head and let her hips sway to the rhythm. It was nice to be here, and though they were surrounded by people it was freeing in a sense. She wasn’t exactly haunted by seeing her father again but she couldn’t get him out of her head. So many ‘what ifs’, so many questions she was stuck on. Maybe she was haunted by their unpleasant meeting, but tonight her focus was elsewhere.

Vik’s hands at her waist elicited a surprised giggle from her and a wide grin. “You’re pretty good!” Her voice raised over the music. As he turned her under their intertwined hands her hips undulated softly, alternating sliding from side to side and in a figure eight pattern.

“So tell me,” Now that they were closer, she didn’t have to raise her voice as much but it was hardly a whisper. “Do they have places like this on Midvinter?”

The strobing lights, the heavy pulse of the music and the din of the clubgoers were all overstimulating in their own right. Yet with all of these distractions, with dozens of people around them, there was a distinct intimate feeling between the pair. Maybe the alcohol had something to do with it.

[member="Vik Velkarson"]

There was not much else that existed in the club apart from the girl dancing with him and the music. All the light show and people around them had vanished as his focus centered on Yula as she danced with him. She had a gentle grace in her movement, fluid and intoxicating more than any alcohol could do to his mind and among all of this, Vik was happy she felt at ease in his presence, and her mind, he could sense, let go of whatever had plagued it, even if it was for a short time. There would be time enough later, when they traveled to Midvinter, to ask her of it.

As she moved closer to speak to him, his arm around her waist pulled her closer again until their bodies touch and their dancing turned to more of a 'on the spot' movement with just the two of them. Vik raised his gaze to the ceiling, the play of a smile on his lips and a look of concerted concentration on his face as if thinking over her question with the greatest of care and consideration, but he knew the answer without thought. There were no places like this on Midvinter, not in the style of a night club at least.

"Hmm, well you are just going to have to wait and find out for yourself", he said lowering his voice, and looked down into her beautiful face and was captured in her green eyes. He did not break their position, nothing in him wanted to for under his hand which touched upon her skin he could feel the softness of it, the gentle sway of her body against his own. He pulled their entwined hands closer to them and just wanted for nothing more than to stay in this spot on the dance floor.

Say something. He realised he was lowering closer to her, his lips but a breath away from hers. But there was no words.

Just at that moment, he was shoved in the back by another wayward dancer who apologied, but this snapped him back to a reality.

Even inebriated, even distracted, Yula could still feel her cheeks flush as they moved closer together. It wasn’t something entirely intentional—rather they were like magnets. It just felt right. Everything was encouraging from the beat of the music to the alcohol in her bloodstream.

Before her swimming mind could comprehend exactly what was going on, someone bumped into Vik and abruptly broke the pair out of their spell. Yula gripped his arm with her free hand and couldn’t help but laugh, albeit nervously. It wasn’t as if she hadn’t kissed anyone before, but she was relatively inexperienced in that realm. “You okay?” She asked, vaguely humorous inflection in her voice.

Her hand gripped against Vik’s arm a little harder, fingers curling into the material of his suit as she paused to steady herself. Her head was still swimming and her vision was swaying back and forth gently. The alcohol, overstimulating environment and sudden surge of nerves made her stomach turn despite herself. Her flamboyant demeanor was put on pause as she simply stood there, trying to figure out what was going on as her face soured.

Ducking down quickly as her stomach lurched in warning, Yula became sick all over the floor and unfortunately Vik’s shoes. Groaning at the unpleasant sensation, she shook her head before taking in what she had just done. “Oh no…” She whispered, panic setting into her face. “I…I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to, honest!” Yula bit her lip, unsure of what to do. “I’ll, uh, we’ll get it cleaned up…”

[member="Vik Velkarson"]

Everything had come to a stand still, Vik reached for the back of his neck to rub in the awkward pause, but there was no predicting what came next. Yula vanished to the floor, the cocktail of the night had become overwhelming even for him, but with the music, the heat in the room with all the bodies of the dancers on the floor and a sense of nervousness between the pair, his lovely Yula was sick. Regardless of all this a part of him was afraid that the idea of him kissing her had been the cause of it. He cared nothing for his shoes or the hem of his suit those could be cleaned but all he did care about was that Yula would be feeling terrible about it.

Her cherry blossom cheeks had turned a deadly white heralding a threat that she would do it again, but he doubted there was much left in her stomach. "It is fine Yula, don't worry", he said placing his arm around her waist once more for support and guiding her off the dance floor. The sea of people on the floor parted to let them both though, and although the music played on, the staff at the club were soon onto the mess and promptly cleaning the floor.

"Let go get some fresh air", he said as he looked around hoping to find a way out of the stifling room. "How do we get out of here?", the question was more to himself as no path seemed to present itself.

As they made it off the dance floor, Vik turned his face to look down into hers with a smile, "You feeling alright?". The bar tender who had previously served them their cocktail, made his way to them and handed Yula a bottle of water but not before unscrewing the top. "Drink this lass, go get cleaned up and ... no one need know", he winked at her before going back to work.

[member="Yula Perl"]

Thankfully Vik didn’t seem upset, but in her inebriated haze Yula still felt bad about what she had done. “I’m sorry.” She said again, placing a hand at her stomach as it spasmed. There was nothing left, thank god. It was embarrassing getting sick in such a public place and dancing with someone she liked. Some people would have fled after a display like that, but somehow Yula wasn’t surprised at Vik’s understanding reaction.

After a careful sip of water, she tilted her head towards the far end of the bar. “If we go towards that direction, there’s an exit in the back.” Not the main one, but it served as a fire exit.

The idea of getting some fresh air was appealing and so she nodded slowly as he guided her away from the crowded dance floor. “I had a few drinks before you showed up.” She muttered. “I should have paced myself.” Unfortunately she did not inherit a Zeltron’s alcohol tolerance. Her internal organs had settled back into place by know so thankfully she wouldn’t spend the night dry heaving on a refresher floor. “I should be okay.” Yula affirmed, accepting the bottle with a grateful nod.

As they made their way outside, the cool night air brought a much needed relief to her heated skin. “So,” Yula placed both palms over her face and rubbed before peeking sheepishly through her fingers at Vik. “That was…probably one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever done, yeah.” The color had begun to return to her face and while her stomach was still agitated, it was not as angry as it had been before. “Thank you for being cool with it.”

[member="Vik Velkarson"]

He felt his own sense of relief when they both made it outside on the fire escape. Suddenly all the over head noises of the amazing skylanes buzzed and the streaming lights bleed before them. Although the view from their vantage point was not picturesque it was nice to be out in the air again, the view was upward not outward and so that is where his gaze was fixed. Even from here you could see some of the taller skyscrapers all lit up, it was a sight he would not forget in his life time. "Don't be sorry, it could have just as easily been me", he grinned before turned to her peaking through her fingers, which only caused him to smile more.

She did look rather adorable doing that.

Vik placed his arm around her again, this time pulling her closer so she could rest on his side and shoulder. "Come on lets sit down", he pointed to the steps and lead her to them to do just that. As they sat together, his hand raised to her hair and he gently encouraged her head to his shoulder which caressing her and he would happy to remain here for as long as it took for her to feel better and able to leave.

"It takes a lot more than something like being sick to turn me away", anyone that would do such a thing is very shallow if that was the case. "As for being embarrassing? Yeap, pretty bad", he was teasing her again now and did not mean any of it. He did not get his kiss, but this ... sitting here with her alone was just as amazing, and he turned his face to her, his lips pressing into her hair as he kissed her head.

[member="Yula Perl"]

Yula stumbled along, using Vik’s support to steady herself until they settled on to the steps. It took her a few moments to get reoriented; though her head wasn’t spinning anymore she was still having trouble stabilizing it.

Her head nestled onto his shoulder, exhaling slowly as he pressed his lips into her hair. A small smile, weakened from her brief ordeal on the dance floor spread across her face. “My mother used to do that when I was sick, you know.” Well, she still did it. Mothers being mothers, she would probably always do it. But Yula was already younger than Vik and something in her didn’t want her to baby-ish.

Her eyes lidded closed. “Tell me more about your homeworld. About Midvinter. And Averlorn.” Even though they would get there eventually, Yula was still curious about his people, their customs and the surroundings that Vik grew up in. While they got on rather well, Yula had realized that she didn’t know much about him. Not as much as she would have liked to with this sort of closeness.

Hopefully their trip would remedy that. Carefully, she took another sip of water in hopes that it would not cause her stomach to revolt. This time it wouldn’t be just his shoes.

[member="Vik Velkarson"]

The constant stream of lights would throw over them like a blanket with each passing transport high in the skies above them, all colours that one could think of. In the distance the sound of laughter from a girl and the muffled voice of a man Vik assumed was with her, occasionally you would hear conversation of a more heated nature, no doubt fueled by the late night and alcohol but none of it would disturb them here. "I shall tell you more, if you promise to tell me more of your mother .. she sounds like a very nice person". And just like Yula, Vik wanted to know more of the girl sitting next to him.

He did not wait for her to promise.

"Well like I mentioned before, it is a land of snow and ice and because of this, there is a diverse culture that has evolved over thousands and thousands of years. I probably know more of the Valkyri than most of my people, but even still my observations were from a far and so that knowledge is limited. We can find out together", he tilted his head downward to see if Yula was doing alright. Vik suspected anything would be a welcome distraction from her stomach at this point so he continued on.

"My people, live in a deep rich forest surrounded by mountains .. and mist. They look like me in the sense they all have pointed ears and a gentile nature that comes from nature itself almost", it is because of this respect for nature that the Aelvar are so akin to it, and it informs their very essence. "We live among the trees, and only hunt when required. The Aelvar have the most beautiful voices, haunting and sad to most that do not understand our language and it makes them weep". He smiled at her.

"There are the Boerni, an amazing race of people that come from the far south of the main continent, a spiritual people so gentle you would never think it possible people so large could be this way", Vik did not describe them, if Yula was to meet one he did not wish to take the joy of this from her. "My world has it beauty, and it's dangers like any place I guess but one thing that is certain is that you must never underestimate her or take her for granted". So many had, and so many had paid the ultimate price for it.

[member="Yula Perl"]

A slow, controlled exhale passed through her lips as her stomach gurgled a bit but ultimately settled. At least she could keep the water down.

Her eyes fluttered closed as she drew her own image of Midvinter in her mind—a land of ice and snow, mists and forests and people like Vik. She had purposely avoided trying to research his home world so that she could experience it through fresh eyes. The way he spoke of it only made it more enticing.

She’d never heard him speak in his native tongue before and the description only made her all the more curious. And the Beorni—she’d heard of the Valkyri and the Aelvar, but now there was a new race. “I won’t mess with her then.” Her voice held a note of humor to it as her eyes opened, the passing lights of the traffic above them reflecting in green irises. “Beauty without danger is boring anyhow.”

She shifted against him, testing her stomach’s resolve as she re-positioned against his shoulder to get more comfortable. Now that Yula had to hold up her end of the bargain she’d silently agreed to, she had to search for the right words. “My mom is…well for starters, she owns that club.” Jointly, with one of her business contacts. “She works in the entertainment industry and owns some clubs and fashion boutiques.” By the time Alan and then Yula had been born, Joza had mostly grown into herself. “Before that she used to be a Jedi. She traveled a lot and met many different kinds of people. So I wanted to do that, sort of.” There were things that Yula did not know about her mother, of course. The Zeltron had spared her children some of the darker details of her life.

A slow smile curled her lips. “I remember running around her office as a child, though. I thought it was so cool. Everything looked so official.A pause. “She did get mad when I drew all over her desk in crayon, though.”

[member="Vik Velkarson"]

A grin on his lips as he looked down into her face amused at the idea of her messing with Midvinter, "That is true", yet his comment was agreeing with her about beauty and he wondered just how dangerous the girl in his arms was. Although Yula was starting to feel much better, he could tell she was still uneasy and they had nowhere to go just yet, so time was on their side. "How can you tell when it is night or day here?", he looked up once more into the streaming light of Coruscant, for him it was difficult with the constant unnatural light from so many buildings and all manner of ships. It really was a jungle made of man.

As she spoke of her mother, and finally revealed her connection to the club, Vik chuckled. "You tricked me", he said but not with any sense of hurt in his tone for there was none. "But your mother sounds like a very kind woman, and very clever", which he doubted not. "Maybe one day I shall get to meet her", maybe. After all this friendship was only new and who knew where life's experiences would take them both. He hoped their friendship would be long lasting and a small part of him did hope for more. The truth was .. it was a large part of him, if he was honest with himself.

Yet again he heard of the Jedi, still not really understanding what or who they were, not completely. From what he had learned they were the good guys, and the Sith the bad but in what context, that was not known to him. He did not really care what the issues were between the two sects. He had to wonder if their issues were the large part of the problem the galaxy had, but he was new to all this and lacked the knowledge to form any concrete view on it.

"When you are feeling up to it, we should begin to get ready to leave for Midvinter", he said as his arm around her waist tightened not really wanting to leave this spot.

“Oh, that’s easy.” She laughed softly. “Just check the chrono.” His point did not go unnoticed, though. There were some points of the city where pollution hung so heavily in the air that you couldn’t tell what color the sky was. “I guess it doesn’t matter to some people, though.” Putting more thought into it, she realized that she’d grown up in a similar area, albeit on the edge of a city. She’d been raised in a nice house with a big yard near the beach, not crammed into an apartment building along with dozens of other people in the downtown.

The thought of her tricking him brought a smile to her lips. “I did. I’m very tricky like that.” Not that she had intended for it to be a secret, but she wasn’t sure how to broach the subject without sounding like she was bragging. “She had something of a hard life growing up so she’s worked hard.” Yula shrugged, on this point she was a little lost because her mother had been involved in the business side of the entertainment industry since before Yula herself had been born, so she’d never known her mother to be anything else. “Maybe you will. I think she’d like you.” Her smile widened and she moved her head, peering up above them to see…not stars, but speeder lanes and the quick flashes of headlights. And she was okay with that.

At the mention of Midvinter, she nodded, though felt no strong urge to move from her spot. Even sitting on the duracrete of an alley was comfortable with him. “A few more minutes.” A pause. “I’ve brought some warm clothes with me. I hear that the people on Midvinter are naturally accustomed to the cold weather, though.” She tilted her head at him in curiosity. “Does that mean that you can walk around nude and not get frostbite?” Yula managed to hold back a giggle, though her lips did twitch with a smirk.
