Weary minds of the borken hearted (Open Tython)

The small shuttle that had allowed his departure from madness touched down onto the ancient temples of his forefathers. Made they could bring his mind peace. Jumping from the cockpit allowed his limbs to stretch. It didn't take A'donari long to find a soft spot of grass beside a tree close to the temples where he could rest. He wanted to be rid of this nightmare and release into the force that had been shaking his senses uncontrollably. He needed to find Peace.

A'onari's eyes opened slowly allowing the light to hit his pupils in full force. The shock felt better than the warmth. Was this really the reality he would be living in? He couldn't answer many of the questions within his mind. It always somehow led back to a feeling of guilt. If they were the Guardians of the Light. Protectors of their own home then who was to blame besides himself. a flood of thoughts continued to role through his mind bringing emotions that he could not hide from. It was the personal reason why he was taking refuge. Without his mind and heart at peace Master would be far from the title he was worthy of. Folding his fingers together and placing his hands behind his head made a pillow allowing some comfort to relax within.
Faces began to pass behind his closed eyes. Each and every Jedi he watched die fighting within the temple and streets were remembered. The unsung hero's were given a tune.

Heavy boots touched the damp stones outside the ancient Temple. A blue-haired woman cradled a steel helm underneath her arm and sighed. It had been awhile since she'd been here. Though the memories never faded.

She entered the Temple and approached Master Cinn with great care. Her armored footfalls echoed easily.

"Do they answer you? ...The spirits of the past." She asked with a casual detachment, "Can you hear these old walls talking?"

Captain Roberts stopped underneath the gaze of tall human statue. The resemblance was uncanny even in the dim light.

"What do they say Master Cinn. What do our sleeping ancestors think of our new generation?"

A'donari refrained from opening his eyes. The Master's touch on the force flowed through the force that filled his body bringing him closer to ease. His thoughts were slipping and answers seemed so far away.
"They don't speak to me anymore. I can only believe that it is due to our current failures as a people."
He allowed a few moments of silence to pass before speaking again. His words filled with questioning.
"Why couldn't we see how far we had fallen?"

She smiled.

"Some of us still have our legs under us."

The bronze armored woman turned around and faced the statue. Musing at it's perfect immortal form. How easily this Jedi kept his legs, she wondered.

"...Some of us, still need time."

She turned her head with stillness,

"Which do you need Master Cinn?"

Guilt, it was, wasn't it? Surely, that was what he was feeling. Guilt that he could not be there, guilt, basically, for something he had not control over. Worry, perhaps anger at himself that he could not have been there at the side of his cousin, even if she had made it out alive - not that he had his doubts about her capabilities, for she was quite capable of taking care of herself. He had been on Kashyyyk, in effect running for his life, in a training exercise.

Training that he would not let go to waste. The military had drilled that much and more into him over the decade he had been subject to its needs and whims, and this life of the Jedi was doing much to cement all that he already knew, and more to augment it, or in some cases, undo it entirely. Accomplishing the goals set out for him on the homeworld of the Wookiee had brought a small mote of pride to him, as well as a larger swell of accomplishment, only to be dashed by the news of the fall of Coruscant. The now former capital of the Republic, taken into Sith hands in a matter of hours.

Back on Tython, where he seemed to be spending far more time despite his assignment to Ossus, he had taken to the punching bag that had, to his amazement, been left set up where he had put it within his first week with the Jedi. He worked the bag for nearly an hour, then ran amongst the trees, the determination to not let such things happen again - as much as was within his power to do - fueling him in the face of the previous morning's training exercise, and the evasive rest that followed, leaving his mood on the fortunately more pleasant side of solemn by the time he happened upon the two masters, slowing to a loping walk as he approached, catching the latest words of the Nautolan as he came closer.

He said nothing, yet listened, leaning against another tree to finish catching his breath, his tail hanging almost wearily behind him.

A'donari continued to picture all of the faces. Their reasons for fighting were the same as his yet he had survived and they had fallen. Lives given for the ways they believed in. Deep down the decision hadn't been thought of when the attack had started and he knew he would have given his life just the same as they had.
"Time." A'donari said with confusion in his voice. "My reasons for fighting keep balance within the galaxy and protect the peace are now mixed with feelings of revenge for my brothers and sisters. They deserved better than the end they were given yet no one out in the outer rim will ever know the sacrifices they made to keep the depths of evil from consuming us all. Only in our minds and hearts will they survive. They now live as the fuel that fights to bring peace and order to all things in the galaxy. Does this mean that they got their wish within the death they received or is their enlightenment achieved through the actions of the living still working to reach our final goals?"

Karen waited a moment to let the passage linger. She cradled her helm like a dear child. Her heart she kept closer still.

"Dead men tell no tales. It is the living who seek enlightenment."

She had learned much war. Thirty years she had been fighting it now. First in the colonies, then in Omega, and now in the Core Worlds. Her heart was hardened against such thoughts. But it was fueled by the infinite mercy of the Force. Her soul did not shake anymore. She had more in common with the statue now. Her will into war was like sand forged smooth into brilliant glass.

"The Force will mind our honored dead. But Master Cinn must look after himself."

She smiled at that last part. It was a little humor to lift his mood. Then the bronze woman moved her head to take note of their newcomer. Peradun's exercise was noted in her body language and in the Force.

"I don't know much of the ways and wills of the Force, ma'am, sir," he said, speaking up finally and looking to [member="Karen Roberts"], then [member="A'donari Cinn"], "but I do know of war, of loss."

He ran one hand through his hair, then rubbed it dry on his sweatpants. On Tython, he always seemed to be speaking to people he did not yet know.

"Time to grieve is needed, and still more for... processing, and perspective," his eyebrows raised slightly, "and physical work. This..."

He began, tapping the side of his head, and cracking the first small, yet civil smile he had given in nearly a day, the run having done its share to improve his overall mood and demeanor.

"...works better in all things when the body it's attached to is taken care of and worked. The mind is clearer this way, I find. It's not just the spirit that needs care."

Was he a spiritual being? Not overall, but there had been times in this life that he couldn't deny that there was an intangible part of himself that needed care and attention as much as this body of his that he conditioned so, over many years.

A soft smile touched his lips when hearing the final statement from the fellow Master he was receiving guidance from.

An unfamiliar voice spoke up telling a personal insight from the life he had lived. The words held truth though it would be hard for A'donari to apply the knowledge as his way of life had always called him to connect internally to the force rather than externally. The body was only a tool for the force to manipulate. This was the way of his life and therefore his thoughts conflicted with the other beings though he could see the truth within if applied by someone else.

Opening his eyes and rising to his feet A'donari bowed to the Woman standing in front of the statue before turning to where he had heard the Man's voice and again bowed.
"Thank you both for your wisdom. I must continue on my journey into the future for true peace to become a reality in my life. May the force be with you."
A'donari said softly with a touch of sadness before walking out of the temple area towards where he had landed.

She nodded and her cool eyes watched the Jedi Master take his leave. Perhaps he had found what he had sought. Perhaps he had desired only meditation. The heart had no map to follow but faith.

Mm. The armored woman gave no motion to stay either. These walls were quieter still and what promise of adventure this temple once held, was gone. The woman merely turned and, with a slight nod to the Apprentice, walked away.
