Well, This Is Awkward.

Lan moved as silently as a ship through a vacuum. No one saw him, no one heard him, no one even smelled him. He moved cloaked in a tight black jumpsuit and a a loose black fitting robe. Two single blades were attached to his back, neither were longer than his own forearm. On the top of his shoulder sat a small set of five throwing knives strapped into place with a small bit of leather. None of his strange scaley skin was showing as he slipped into another hallway within the castle ground.

When you looked directly at his face it was almost like he was smiling, though with his reptilian face it was rather difficult to tell. He loved the hunt, it was his favorite part of doing things like this.

Lan had left Honoghr for a reason, and that was to learn the ways of the rest of the galaxy. So far he had done rather well. He had found a planet, and there he had found a man that had been willing to pay money in order to see another man dead. This had seemed rather straightforward to Lan so obviously he had taken the job. He looked at the whole thing like a learning experience, and it also helped that the man promised Lan a ship, something he was in desperate need of. Of course he would have to learn to fly the ship, but that could come later.

With a happy almost smirking expression on his lizard face Lan slipped onto a balcony. Slowly he looked up the castle's tower, staring at the very top of it for a moment. There were no buildings like this on Honoghr, and he found it absolutely fascinating. With a quick jump Lan grappled himself onto the wall, his claws digging deep into the ancient rock.

Slowly he begun his ascent, towards his deader.

A guard was walking down one of the lower corridors of the castle. He slipped in and out of shadows that were created by the poorly powered lights that were haphazardly installed sparsely down the stone wall adjacent to him. The man stopped in front of an adjoining stairwell when he lowered his blaster rifle and started to search his front coat pocket for a cigarette. Black gloved hands slowly reached out from the shadows of the stairwell towards him.

The man's throat vibrated with his shout of shock, but it only made the lightest of muffled sounds as one of the gloved hands latched down over his mouth. Then the last thing that could be heard was the faintest of crunches as the mystery assassin promptly jerked the guard's head sideways. The sound of the neck's vertebrae grinding against each other as they were pulled out of place was a sound that just never got old.

The mystery figure then stepped into the dim light of the corridor, which revealed it to be a woman wearing black armor with medium length black hair. She carried the body into a nearby broom closet near the staircase for hiding before moving swiftly up the stairs. The whole time she never seemed to make a sound.

Unfortunately there was a hatch door installed at the top of the stairs that stopped her in her tracks. The woman cursed slightly under her breath as she ran back down the stairs to search the dead guard for a key card.

The mission was simply to kill a target. Killing this person would earn a large sum of credits and a ship. It was a straight forward objective, but the setting did provide some amusement. The target was the head of a local crime family who somehow had managed to takeover a desolate castle in disrepair. Lights and other security measures were installed to retrofit it, but there was still more ground than his guards could cover. This allowed the woman to slip in unnoticed. Then again the fool threw a party in the common areas to show off his achievement as well. The party and the noise it was making would have been easily enough cover for anyone to get into the 'employee only' section.

Now the assassin was running back up the staircase with key in hand. She'd be into the next level up in moments.

Lan moved swiftly, his scaley body climbing up the top of the tower like a gecko crawling up a wall. It was like he was designed for this. Quickly he ascended the tower, each time his claws leaving small dents within the rocks and spaces in between. Everything was going according to plan right now. He was hidden, no one had seen him, and his black cloak would keep it that way. His mouth was slightly cracked open, his teeth showing in what could be considered a smile.

The lizard was quite pleased with himself. This was easier than he had actually expected it to be, and slowly as he approached the top most balcony it seemed that everything would go off without a hitch.

Slowly Lan reached out and grabbed the small outcropping of the balcony, pulling himself upwards with his immense upper body strength. He stared with a smile into the room beyond the balcony, only to realize that it was empty. Almost immediately Lan's “smile” went away, his mouth closing and a small hiss escaping him, he had been tricked.

Cautiously Lan moved into the room, he looked around, as if lost.

Lan wasn't the only one to have a confused look on their face. A woman shadowed under the hood of a navy blue cloak then entered the room only a moment after the reptile made his own survey of his surroundings. She was immediately given away by the creaking sound of the hinges on the old ornate door, and appeared to be as surprised as him.

Unfortunately Lan didn't have much time to think or react as Sephoria decided to silence loose ends quickly. A dagger was immediately flying through the air at him as the doors closed.

Lan let out a loud hiss as he saw the dagger fly towards him. Out of pure instinct the Lizard bounded to the side. The blade sliced into one of his horns, doing no damaging but making a slight aesthetic slash within the bone. He frowned slightly, or as much as he was capable of frowning. Who had that been? Definitely not a guard, a guard would have reacted in a much more calm manner. The Lizard man let out a soft hiss as he looked at the now closed doors.

Before he did anything else Lan drew one of the daggers from his back. The blade was about as long as his forearm and he held it backwards against his arm. With swift quick movements Lan dashed towards the door.

Lan swung the door open quickly, not caring about the soft creak. He swept himself into the wall opposite the door pressing up against it and making himself a smaller target. With careful lizard like eyes Lan spotted the woman in black round a corner, he let out another hiss and then immediately dashed after her.

Whatever the woman was, she was trained, and that interested Lan.

How foolish to think that the target would be where her sources put him. Sephoria scolded herself mentally for just barging in without scoping out the situation. It had been a restricted area and she had given herself away. The creature she ran into simply had to die to insure that the alarms weren't triggered just yet. It's a shame she didn't have time to get a good look at him, but she'd have to leave the fun and games for later. If the Garhoon wasn't careful she might just bring the entire party down on top of her own head.

Then something caught her attention over her thoughts. The sound of a rapid pitter patter of footsteps behind her. They were soft almost unnoticeable sound waves, but whoever it was was moving fast. Even the greatest assassins couldn't do that without a sound, and the Garhoon's sense of hearing was quite exceptional. Sephoria naturally did the only thing any ethically challenged person would do in that situation. She counterattacked without hesitation or question.

The Garhoon unsnapped the pin on the front of her cloak as she spun around. One hand threw the large cloth garment at Lan'rith's face in a fluid motion as she pulled another dagger with her other hand. The dagger flew from the woman's hand in an attempt to hopefully find a new home for the blade in the reptile's flesh through the cloak she had just thrown as a distraction.

She didn't wait for confirmation though as her right hand was already moving for the sword hilt located at her left shoulder. She was fast, but Lan had gotten quite close before she heard him.

Lan moved fast, as all his people did. When he saw the cloak fly through the air he decided to dodge ti entirely, his instinct telling him that it was likely a trick. With one swift move Lan slid beneath the cloak, kicking up a small bit of dust as he did so. Immediately after he did so the knife struck the cloak, the blade pushed the cloak further down the hall and eventually pinned the black garment to the wall. The Lizard man let out a hiss as he moved back to his feet in one smooth lithe motion.

He didn't bother looking back towards the cloak, there was no point. He took off running again after the girl, this time he drew his own throwing knife. Lan pulled three of the blades from his shoulder, and as the pair of assassins rounded another corner he threw the blades towards his assailant.

Lan took in a deep breath, he took in the womans scent. His eyes snapped open slightly, the reptilian orbs shrinking and growing ever so slightly as the scent struck him. She wasn't an ordinary human, she was...something else. The Noghri rushed after her, getting ready to pounce.

The cloak being thrown revealed a fairly tall woman wearing black armor mesh with light plates covered in a thin layer of black leather. It was armor built for mobility and stealth. Interestingly enough the wearer of that armor smiled and bolted off down the hall when the lizard had chosen to throw himself to the floor to dodge.

Sephoria was usually the one to give chase. Ironically there was something invigorating about being the prey. She had to admit it was kind of fun. However, as she rounded the corner something suddenly dawned on her. Those daggers had decent balance and weren't so easy to replace.

The woman turned then and exclaimed, "Hey those are expensive!" She said these words as she turned to face Lan'rith just as one of the his own blades struck her and made her recoil back. The woman turned back to face the reptile with a deep gash on her cheek and a deep expression of hatred. The pupils of her eyes dilated wide which covered her blue irises giving the appearance of black demonic eyes.

"Didn't your mother teach you not to hit a lady," asked the mysterious woman in a soft dangerous voice as she pulled her sword from its sheath. The blade didn't shimmer with the light as it seemed to be forged with a dark grey coating of some sort.

Lan simply ran at the woman. He had no idea who she was, but she could tell she wasn't human. She had an air of death around her, and he didn't like that. The Lizard man jumped at her, bounding through the air and closing the distance between the two of them with impeccable speed. With his dagger he clashed against Sephoria's blade, trying to bat away the silvery weapon so that Lan could knock the woman over.

Once he was on to of her he would bite for her open neck and hopefully tear open her arteries. It was a quick and harsh way to kill, not at all elegant. But then again Lan might have just over committed and be thrown into a wall, so there was that.

Sephoria Lasranae

The Devourer's Reaper
Seph moved into a defensive stance with her blade and was able to parry the lizard's attack with relative ease. She knew Lan's blade was short and quick, which would give him great advantage if he could keep within her personal space. Sephoria was going to take a step back to take advantage of her sword's superior reach when his momentum didn't stop. The reptile collided into her and managed to topple the woman over.

The Garhoon was immediately moving in mid air to correct her positioning and knock him away before even hitting the ground. Truthfully she was surprised by his ferocity, but genuinely shocked when Lan'rith moved for the primal kill of biting into her jugular. Her response was of course to send an immediate elbow at the side of his head with all of the force she could muster with her free arm. He'd quickly find her race to be much stronger then their appearances allowed on first glance.

Sephoria's face scrunched up in pure rage as she bared her own upper and lower fangs back at Lan with a loud hiss. She shouted for him to get off of her, and all of that raw emotion allowed her to draw upon the force to unintentionally release a blast of concussive energy outward

Lan reeled his head back, intending to chomp down on the womans arm. Unfortunately however he never got the chance, a powerful concussive blast struck him from out of nowhere sending the Lizard man flying. The Noghri reeled back, flying against a nearby wall causing dust to loose itself from the cracks. For a few seconds Lan hung their stuck against the paving stone. Luckily for the lizard man his bones were smaller and more dense than human bones, and those he remained relatively unscathed.

A bit of his leathery skin was punctured on his back however and cold blood dripped from his wounds. He let out a loud almost snake like hiss as he fell to the floor. He rose to his knee's and then to his feet almost immediately, getting ready to rebound the strange humanoid.

He prepared himself, this was no regular human, and even worse it could use the force. Lan had only seen the force once, and that had been on Honoghr. He hadn't liked it, the sight of it had sent a chill down his spine. This time it was no different and he felt strange, he didn't like this.

Lan waited for the inhuman thing to attack, not wanting to tempt fate a second time.

Sephoria Lasranae

The Devourer's Reaper
Sephoria quickly rotated her body to jump gracefully onto her feet rather than to push herself up. The surprise of what she had done with the force had been evident on her face, but only for a precious moment. It's possible that she was only able to do such powerful acts on accident. However, the Garhoon almost immediately had her sights set back onto the Noghri.

The woman ran at the creature as the tip of her blade dragged across the stone floor behind her. It was a subtle intimidation tactic, and she seemed to use a lot of them. Then she brought the blade forward in a downward diagonal slash. The movement of the sword was kept close to her body in light quick strikes rather than to make powerful all out attacks. She didn't want to throw her momentum and get flanked from the side if he decided throw himself to dodge again.

"Little Dragon, what are your kind called?"

Lan moved quickly, like a serpent moving to evade a falling tree. The blade of the woman sliced deeply towards him, but the lizard managed to raise his blade just in time not to be sliced into bits. Their blades clashed, and Lan managed to stop her sword. Interestingly however her sword cut a notch into Lan's own sword.

The Noghri let out a hiss of surprise. The blade was made of the finest steel on Honoghr, denting it like this should have been impossible. Lan's eyes burst open slightly in shock, but then set normally again. Whatever this creature was, it had good equipment as well as skill. He would have his hands full with this one, not to mention the guards that would likely be coming soon. He let out a loud hiss, and then moved his free hand forward.

Like a viper Lan lashed out, his sharp claws trying to rake across the girls face.

Sephoria Lasranae

The Devourer's Reaper
The claw adorned hand that moved in to swipe at her face was stopped by the thin armor around her forearm as she moved it to block narrowly. Sephoria was about to take advantage of this opening when her mind just barely managed to register a voice down the corridor. Her sword moved upward on trained impulse and somehow managed to block the blaster bolt that whizzed towards the two of them. It ricocheted harmlessly into the wall nearby right before Sephoria jumped away from the Noghri.

It seemed that the guards had finally taken notice even if they were quite late. There was no sense in trying to gut each other while getting gunned down. She was only good enough to block a few bolts before they got past her defense.

"We'll meet again little dragon!" There was no time for anything further as she made her escape. They were compromised after all.
