STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Deceitful: Wes lies quite frequently due to his status and profession. He has become very skilled at lying which is advantageous. The downside is that lying too much can lead to him ruining relationships.
Immoral: Wes completely lacks a moral compass. He is willing to do anything as long as it is beneficial for himself, especially in the short term.
Intelligent: Intelligence is one of Wes’s biggest strengths. He is particularly good at thinking on his feet.
Reserved: Wes is very reserved. He hides his emotions and thoughts frequently. He only shares how he truly feels on rare occasions around people he trusts.
APPEARANCE:
Perell is a rather average looking individual. His hairstyle and facial structure usually do not change much, but the clothing he wears greatly depends on his environment. He is usually trying to blend in with the situation around him. He alternates between a standard uniform, an all black outfit for covert operations, or context-appropriate gear for undercover missions. He is usually carrying at least a couple small concealed weapons on him in nearly every situation.
BIOGRAPHY:
Azan Valsas was born on Corellia in 841 ABY. His parents originated from a wealthy family. From a very young age he was very intelligent and excelled at learning. He was particularly inclined toward fields like hypermathematics and automatons. Due to his parents wealth, he was able to afford high quality schooling which further enhanced his education. Even as a child he was surprisingly calm and quiet.
During his teenage years, Azan became particularly fascinated with gambling. Corellia housed many casinos that he started to frequent. His relatively calm demeanor and skill for mathematics resulted in him being particularly successful at gambling. He particularly loved sabacc and the rush that came with winning a big hand. Taking advantage of his parents' wealthy background, he traveled to compete in the Cloud City Sabacc Competition on Bespin. With a 10,000 credit entry fee, it was one of the largest and most competitive tournaments in the galaxy. Thanks to a combination of luck and skill, he shocked a field of hundreds of participants to win the tournament at age 17. He was one of the youngest winners ever.
Winning the tournament brought about prestige and vast wealth for Azan. He quickly grew accustomed to the lifestyle. He started traveling the galaxy and playing in sabacc tournaments regularly. When he wasn’t busy with that, he spent his time enjoying the finer things the galaxy had to offer. Getting to the top was easy, staying on top was hard. His success at the Cloud City tournament led to complacency. He stopped working nearly as hard, believing he was so good the wins would magically appear. The other professionals also quickly picked up on his style of play, eliminating his second key advantage. Those two factors resulted in a disappointing few years of professional gambling for Azan. His prestige and money quickly faded as he failed to continually succeed.
Following his victory at the Cloud City tournament in 858 ABY, Azan attempted to defend his title in the following years but fared poorly. After a particularly brutal bad beat saw him get eliminated in 862 ABY, he was destitute. Feeling as though he had nothing to lose, Azan promised himself that he would win the tournament the following year--no matter the cost. And that he did. Playing some of the best sabacc of his life thanks to an illegal cheating strategy he had devised, he found himself feeling on top of the galaxy once again. At first, life was flourishing for him. He had money again and had pulled off a great comeback story to win his second major tournament. Unfortunately, his determination to succeed quickly caught up with him. Hungry for more fame and wealth, Azan captured the Cloud City championship again in 864 ABY. It made him one of the only players to ever win it three times. After using a similar cheating tactic for the second year in a row, Azan was exposed for cheating just weeks after the tournament concluded.

He recently made history in 864 ABY by becoming the first player ever to win the Cloud City Sabacc Tournament three times. The event is the largest sabacc tournament in the galaxy and comes with a prize in the millions of credits.
These allegations surfaced after Valsas’s most recent win where he took home a grand prize of over eleven million credits. Shortly after the event, the Sabacc Games Commission discovered that he had used illegal camera technology to spy on the hands his opponents were holding. Any use of technology of this nature is strictly prohibited by the SGC. The commission acted quickly today, stripping him of all three of his titles and permanently banning him from all future galactic sabacc competitions. They have also demanded that he repay all of his winnings from the tournaments--a sum that totals over 32 million credits. It is currently unknown whether or not the SGC will take any further legal action against him. Cheating at sabacc can carry long prison sentences and in extreme cases, even a punishment of death. The investigation by the SGC is still ongoing. It is currently unclear how he smuggled the technology in through the tournament’s extensive security check. He completely disappeared from the core. There was no trace of him. He was a speck hidden among four billion stars. Azan died and Wes Perell was born. Wes had shorter hair and didn’t shave nearly as much. He lacked the extravagant lifestyle of Azan, he was just a simple spacer. Nobody could really figure out where he was from. To some, Wes grew up on a small farm and to others he was a wealthy merchant. But most importantly, he was completely inconspicuous...to all but one person. Shortly after his disappearance, he was tracked down by an Agent X. A mysterious figure who had found him roaming the stars aimlessly. He was offered a spot as a member of a covert organization. Lacking any other commitments and fearful what might happen if he said no, Wes agreed to join the group.
